Abstract

This study explores fraud as a socially constructed phenomenon shaped by individual experiences, organizational contexts, and gendered dynamics within accounting practices. Using a qualitative interpretive approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with auditors, practitioners, and academics to understand how meanings of fraud are formed, negotiated, and enacted. The findings reveal that opportunity remains the most dominant driver of fraudulent behavior, transcending gender boundaries. While participants initially associated fraud cases with male perpetrators due to media representation and structural exposure, the study shows that both men and women share equal potential to commit fraud when opportunities emerge. Gender differences appear not in the propensity to engage in fraud, but in access to roles, visibility, and situational pressures that shape exposure to such opportunities. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of fraud beyond traditional rational-choice models by emphasizing its socio-cultural embeddedness. Implications highlight the need for organizations to address structural factors that create opportunities for fraud and to reconsider gendered assumptions embedded within fraud risk assessments.

In the digital era, Generation Z has great potential for entrepreneurship, but often the lack of understanding regarding the basics of entrepreneurship and digital technology hinders their readiness to start a business. This study adopted a quantitative approach using a questionnaire as a data collection instrument, which was distributed to 420 Generation Z students in Makassar City who had participated in digital entrepreneurship education. Data analysis used was path analysis using several software for data processing such as Microsoft Excel 2010, SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 20.0, and Partial Least Squares (PLS) techniques using SmartPls (version 4.0). The results of the study indicate that digital entrepreneurship learning and digital industry collaboration significantly influence digital entrepreneurship literacy and entrepreneurial readiness. In contrast, digital entrepreneurship training and digital business incubators did not significantly influence these two variables. This study suggests the need to improve the quality of digital entrepreneurship learning and collaboration with industry to strengthen the entrepreneurial readiness of Generation Z. Furthermore, digital business training and incubators should be optimized by aligning the materials with the latest technological needs.

Abstract

This study was conducted to propose solutions for community-based tourism development in the Mekong Delta region (MDR). Qualitative research methods (expert consultation and SWOT matrix analysis) were used to address the research objectives. Research results show that community-based tourism in the MDR has achieved many positive accomplishments in recent decades, with numerous community tourism spots establishing attractive brands in the minds of both domestic and international tourists. However, limitations in human resource capacity, regional connectivity, product diversity, and the impact of climate change have hindered the development of this tourism type. Consequently, the study proposes several solutions for community-based tourism development in the MDR, including (i) Developing distinctive community-based tourism products associated with the riverine and orchard culture, (ii) Enhancing human resource training and management capacity for community-based tourism, (iii) Investing in infrastructure development and digital transformation in destination management, and (iv) Strengthening public-private linkages and international cooperation for sustainable community-based tourism development

Abstract

This study investigates the patterns, motivations, and implications of YouTube-facilitated Nollywood film viewing among students at Heritage Polytechnic, Eket. Employing a survey research design, data were collected from a representative sample of 357 students drawn from six purposively selected departments across three faculties. The study examined the extent of student engagement with YouTube, the factors influencing their preference for the platform over traditional film-viewing channels, and the implications of these viewing habits for the Nigerian film industry. Findings revealed that approximately 60% of students accessed YouTube daily or multiple times weekly, predominantly to watch full films and trailers, while interactive activities such as commenting and sharing were less common. Practical considerations, including affordability, ease of access, and content variety, emerged as the primary drivers of platform preference, whereas peer influence and educational motivations were less significant. The study also found that YouTube promotes cultural engagement, increases awareness of film quality issues, and provides opportunities for independent filmmakers, but simultaneously exposes students to unregulated and pirated content. Grounded in the Technological Acceptance Model and the Uses and Gratifications Theory, the research highlights the dual role of YouTube as both an enabler of accessible film consumption and a platform with potential challenges for content regulation. The findings underscore the need for filmmakers, regulators, and educational institutions to harness YouTube’s advantages while implementing strategies for content verification, media literacy, and industry sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the service quality of Nyamilo MSMEs using the SERVQUAL model and to examine its relationship with customer satisfaction and loyalty. A qualitative approach was used through interviews with the owner and three customers who had made more than two purchases, accompanied by observations of online sales activities and documentation from social media. The results show that all five dimensions of SERVQUAL, namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, are well fulfilled. Neat and hygienic packaging, consistent taste, quick response in communication, transparency in the production process, and the ability to customize orders are factors that shape a positive experience for customers. These findings indicate that good service increases satisfaction, which in turn encourages loyalty in the form of repeat purchases and recommendations to others. This study confirms that service quality plays a crucial role in retaining customers for online-based culinary SMEs like Nyamilo.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is increasingly recognized as a critical component in higher education, especially for management students who are preparing to enter a dynamic business environment. This study investigates the effects of business literacy and networking capability on entrepreneurial motivation among fifth-semester students of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, XYZ University. The research addresses the problem that, despite growing attention to entrepreneurship education, the combined influence of cognitive (business literacy) and social (networking capability) factors on students’ entrepreneurial motivation remains underexplored. Using a quantitative descriptive–correlational method, data were collected from 125 respondents through an online survey and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 30. The results show that both business literacy and networking capability have significant positive effects on entrepreneurial motivation, both individually and simultaneously. Among the two predictors, networking capability was found to be the most dominant factor, indicating that strong social relationships and access to professional networks greatly enhance students’ entrepreneurial drive. This study concludes that improving students’ business knowledge and strengthening their networking abilities are essential strategies for fostering entrepreneurial motivation. The findings contribute both theoretically, by integrating cognitive and social perspectives, and practically, by offering insights for designing more effective entrepreneurship education programs. Keywords: Entrepreneurial motivation, business literacy, networking capability.
