Abstract

This research examined the factors affecting students' readiness to study mathematics at the beginning of the 2024–2025 academic year. The study was carried out at MA Husnul Khotmah Kuningan. The sampling method used in this research was purposive sampling. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study model. Data collection instruments included questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The study results indicated that the factors with the highest percentages were cooperation among students, learning facilities, parental support, and the quality of teaching, which played a significant role in creating a supportive and effective learning environment. Indicators with the highest values highlight factors that profoundly and directly influence students' learning readiness. Factors such as student cooperation, learning facilities, parental support, and teaching quality significantly create a supportive and effective learning environment. While factors with lower percentage values, such as study habits and additional activities, are also important, they may require further attention to enhance overall learning readiness. Understanding and improving all these factors can help create a better learning environment and prepare students to face academic challenges.

Abstract

The horror genre is widely appreciated for its ability to challenge audiences through fear, offering suspense and excitement. Among its subgenres, psychological horror stands out for its unique focus on the mind, emotions, and internal struggles, rather than relying on direct confrontations with physical monsters or external threats. This subgenre delves into the complexities of the human psyche, often depicting mental illness and psychological tension to evoke fear. Unlike traditional horror, psychological horror builds suspense through atmosphere, character development, and the gradual unraveling of the protagonist's mental state, making it a subtler yet more unsettling form of horror. A literature review highlights how psychological horror has significantly shaped the portrayal of mental illness, offering deeper, more introspective representations of psychological disorders. The findings indicate that this subgenre's strength lies in its ability to present fear from a different perspective, often leaving much to the imagination of the audience, which intensifies the sense of dread. By focusing on internal fears and psychological conflicts, psychological horror provides a distinctive narrative experience, setting it apart from other horror subgenres that rely on physical confrontations. This makes it a compelling form of storytelling that resonates deeply with audiences, tapping into their subconscious fears and emotions

Abstract

This research explores the efforts of Paguyuban Kujang Salakageni in Bogor Regency, Indonesia, to preserve the traditional art of Debus amidst the challenges posed by modernity. As globalization and modernization threaten the resilience of local cultures, the Salakageni community, made up primarily of young individuals, remains committed to safeguarding and promoting this unique cultural heritage. This study uses a qualitative approach and includes data collection methods like observations, interviews, and documentation studies. The findings reveal that preserving the Debus tradition is a significant challenge. In contemporary society, Debus performances are often viewed by certain segments of the population as mere forms of entertainment. The younger generation, in particular, tends to perceive the tradition as outdated, which makes it less attractive compared to modern forms of music and dance. However, despite these challenges, Salakageni continues to perform at various community events, not only within Bogor but also in neighboring regions. In spite of struggling for support from both the private sector and government institutions, the group remains dedicated to organizing Debus performances in public spaces, funded out of their own pockets. Their efforts are driven by a deep passion and a sense of moral responsibility to preserve and pass on this traditional art form, ensuring the continuity of the nation’s cultural heritage for future generations.

Abstract

Adolescence represents a critical transitional phase from childhood to adulthood and serves as a key stage in the human life development cycle. This period is characterized by significant hormonal changes, leading to various physical, emotional, and psychological transformations. Among these, emotional changes are particularly noteworthy as they directly relate to the development of emotional intelligence, a crucial skill influencing an individual's ability to manage emotions, build relationships, and navigate social interactions. Emotional intelligence is shaped by various factors, with parenting patterns emerging as a particularly influential determinant. This study aims to investigate the extent to which different parenting patterns impact the emotional intelligence of middle-aged adolescents. This study uses a qualitative methodology, with observations and interviews serving as the main means of gathering data. The study's respondents consist of six middle-aged adolescents, comprising both male and female participants, selected to provide diverse perspectives. The findings reveal that parenting patterns play a pivotal role in shaping the emotional intelligence of adolescents. Adolescents who experience supportive, nurturing, and consistent parenting tend to exhibit higher levels of emotional intelligence, including improved self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation. Conversely, inconsistent or neglectful parenting may hinder the development of these skills. The study underscores the importance of parental involvement and adaptive parenting strategies during adolescence to foster emotional intelligence. These findings provide valuable insights for parents, educators, and practitioners working with adolescents, emphasizing the need for a supportive environment to promote holistic development during this critical life stage.
