Abstract

Various previous studies have found the importance of personal branding for the career development of lecturers in carrying out the Tri-Dharma duties of higher education institutions. However, some data in Indonesia indicate the reluctance of lecturers to develop personal branding. Javanese culture, which is the largest ethnic group in Indonesia, has philosophies that seem to have different perspectives from personal branding. This research aims to understand the attitudes of Generation X lecturers from the Javanese ethnic group regarding personal branding. A qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach is used, employing deep-interview data collection techniques, involving 5 informants from various fields of study. The results of the data analysis indicate that interpretations of the philosophies prevalent in Java can influence the attitudes toward personal branding among these lecturers.

This study is based on the existence of local media that specifically addresses environmental issues with positive news about oil palm plantations. This is marked by the existence of a special news column that examines the various potentials and benefits of palm oil. This research aims to analyze the content of positive palm oil issues in local media and the media ideology behind positive palm oil reporting. The research method uses a qualitative approach by analyzing the news content of local media Borneonews in Central Kalimantan Province with the specific issue of palm oil news as primary data. This research also uses secondary data obtained from various documents. The research results show that the local media Borneonews has the same tendency to commodify content in reporting on palm oil issues. The content is part of propaganda that leads public opinion to make peace with the presence of palm oil. The perspective disseminated through news content is that oil palm provides employment land for the community and care for the environment by processing palm oil waste so that it can be used for various other purposes such as animal feed and fertilizer. The ideology of the local media Borneonews in environmental issues with positive issues is that the messages conveyed are a denial of the existence of palm oil, not as a destroyer of the environment

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of banks' environmental performance and the existence of sustainability committees on banks' financial performance through green banking in banks that implement green banking in Indonesia and are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2018-2022. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with specific criteria, resulting in 65 data samples from 13 banks that meet these criteria. This study employs path analysis to determine the effect of independent variables on dependent variables and the Sobel test to determine the indirect effect of the mediating variable on both the dependent and independent variables, using Eviews 12 software. The results indicate that the variable Banks' Environmental Performance affects Green Banking, while the variable Sustainability Committees do not significantly affect Green Banking. Green banking influences banks' financial performance, and it cannot mediate the effect of environmental performance on banks' financial performance. Additionally, Green Banking cannot mediate the impact of Banks' Sustainability Committees on Banks' Financial Performance.

Abstract

The Tengger indigenous people are a traditional entity spread across Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The Tengger indigenous people have inhabited Tengger mountains since the time of Majapahit kingdom. Indonesian government has designated Tengger mountain area as the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The aim of this research is to determine a partnership pattern of Tengger indigenous people in collaborative management with the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park office because if examined from a judicial perspective, costumary law has been marginalized by enactment of state law. The type of this research used a Socio-Legal Research with a legal anthropology approach. The main data source was obtained from in-depht interview with Gatekeepers and informants. The research findings show that there has been no true participation of the Tengger indigenous people in managing National Park area because the national park office make many policy regulations and determine area zoning unilaterally without considering the local wisdom that is owned by the Tengger indigenous people which has been passed down across generations for thousand of years. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park only uses an approach based on a spectrum of ecological sensitivity to maintain conservation area and determine the zones area. There is a need for a collaborative management pattern together with the Tengger indigenous people to achieve an ecologically sustainable conservation area. Collaborative management with the society also prevents the domino effect of ecological damage due to the high number of tourist both local and foreign, visiting the national park.

Abstract

The Indonesian Muslim diaspora in New York faces challenges in providing burial plots and burial processes that comply with Islamic law in New York City. They took the initiative to create a waqf graveyard program managed by the community. This research aims to determine the factors that can create, maintain, and possibly destroy the social capital possessed by the Indonesian Muslim diaspora community in New York regarding the waqf graveyard program. This research uses qualitative methods by interviewing informants who can provide information regarding factors that can influence social capital in the community. The results of this research illustrate that the factors that influence the creation of community social capital are the ideology held and the prosperity of community members. Factors that can maintain social capital are closed network factors, community stability, and ideology. Meanwhile, the factor that has the potential to destroy social capital in the implementation of the waqf graveyard program by the Indonesian Muslim diaspora community is the community stability factor which leads to the appointment of certain individuals as single actors in managing the grave waqf, namely in this case the waqf graveyard program coordinator.
