Abstract

This study examines how the e-communication-based marketing mix (7Ps) influences customer loyalty among Spotify listeners engaging with indie musicians from Bogor. Data were collected from 400 respondents using a quantitative approach and analyzed through Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression. The results indicate that all marketing mix elements significantly affect customer loyalty, with Promotion (? = 0.216) and People (? = 0.195) having the most substantial impact. Place was not statistically significant (p = 0.07), suggesting that geographical origin is becoming less relevant in fostering digital music loyalty. The Cooperation indicator recorded the highest mean score (M = 4.34) and showed a moderate positive correlation with the loyalty construct (R = 0.457), underscoring the importance of active listener participation. These findings suggest that emotional engagement, relational marketing, and symbolic branding are more influential in building loyalty within digital ecosystems than functional attributes such as pricing or product features. The study contributes to digital marketing and indie music research by proposing an expanded interpretation of the 7Ps framework that emphasizes emotional value creation, visual identity, and participatory community engagement. Practical recommendations are also offered for indie musicians, including emotional storytelling, consistent fan interaction, and visual branding strategies to strengthen listener loyalty. The study illustrates how indie musicians can resist platform-driven marginalization in highly competitive streaming environments.

Abstract

This study examines how the farming profession is portrayed and understood on YouTube, a platform that has received little attention in previous academic work. Drawing on Stuart Hall’s theory of representation and using a digital ethnography approach, the research analyzes six selected YouTube videos, identified through the PRISMA method. Through thematic analysis using ATLAS.ti, the study identifies key symbolic representations, while sentiment analysis with AI Studio categorizes audience responses as positive, negative, or neutral. The findings suggest that video formats—such as monologues, vlog-style storytelling, and complex editing—contribute to diverse portrayals of farmers. Negative portrayals, as seen in Indonesia Terancam Krisis Petani Muda (CNN Indonesia), tend to reinforce views of farming as difficult and economically insecure. On the other hand, videos like Pengantin Baru Lulusan Sarjana Sukses Jadi Petani (Wong Ladangan) offer more positive narratives, showing farming as a viable and rewarding profession. This study contributes to discussions on digital representation by showing how online media shape public perceptions of professional identities. It also provides practical insights for agricultural policymakers and content creators to rethink how farming is communicated to the public, particularly to younger audiences.

Abstract

Public services provided by local governments are essential administrative functions, with the government serving as the sole provider. Consequently, the public’s reliance on these services underscores the importance of maintaining high levels of employee performance. Employee performance is influenced by various organizational and individual factors, particularly work culture, work environment, and work discipline. This study investigates the extent to which these three factors affect employee performance. A quantitative research design was employed, targeting a population of 43 employees. The study used a probability sampling technique, specifically simple random sampling, to select a sample of 38 respondents. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Descriptive statistics, including frequency analysis, were used to determine the mean scores for each item. Inferential analysis applied multiple linear regression to examine the effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The results indicated a positive association between work culture and employee performance; however, the effect of work culture was not statistically significant, with a t-value of 0.246 exceeding the 0.05 significance threshold. In contrast, both the work environment and work discipline had statistically significant and positive effects on employee performance when examined independently. Furthermore, a combined analysis of work culture, work environment, and work discipline revealed a significant joint influence on employee performance, as reflected by an F-value of 30.078 and a p-value below 0.05. In conclusion, while work culture alone may not significantly enhance performance, the collective influence of work culture, work environment, and work discipline is critical in improving employee outcomes. These findings suggest that organizations should prioritize these factors to optimize employee performance and achieve broader organizational objectives.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing Digital Maturity Models (DMMs) to support digital transformation across various sectors. Although AI technologies have been widely adopted, few studies have explicitly examined how AI influences the dimensions of digital maturity or mapped the evolving research landscape on this subject. To address this gap, a bibliometric analysis was conducted using 430 journal articles published between 2015 and 2024, sourced from the Scopus database. Quantitative methods were employed using R Studio and the Bibliometrix package to analyze publication trends, keyword co-occurrences, and international research collaborations. The findings reveal a notable increase in AI-related DMM publications since 2022, with key themes including technological innovation, strategic transformation, and socio-organizational adaptation. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by offering a systematic overview of research developments, highlighting critical gaps, and laying the groundwork for adaptive AI maturity models. Its novelty lies in applying bibliometric techniques to uncover thematic structures that can inform future research agendas and policy directions in digital transformation.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) contribute to approximately 74 percent of global deaths, with cardiovascular diseases related to hypertension being the most significant, accounting for 17.9 million deaths each year. In Bali, the prevalence of hypertension has shown a steady increase, reaching 47.7 percent in Karangasem Regency. Existing epidemiological approaches remain insufficient as they focus predominantly on biological and behavioral determinants while overlooking cultural factors that influence health behaviors. This study aims to explore how shared knowledge within the Tenganan Pegringsingan community shapes and reinforces cultural practices that increase the risk of hypertension. Using a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation involving village officials, community elders, leaders of social drinking groups known as sekehe, and individuals participating in metuakan rituals. The findings demonstrate that the interaction between environmental, biological, and cultural factors sustains the practice of metuakan, a communal activity involving the consumption of palm wine (tuak), which is deeply embedded in local religious and social rituals. Long-term alcohol exposure through these practices influences biological processes and psychosocial conditions that affect heart rate and blood pressure. The study concludes that culturally embedded behaviors must be considered in the development of effective hypertension prevention strategies that are contextually grounded in local knowledge and practice.

Abstract

Marine ecosystems in small coastal and island communities play a vital role in sustaining local livelihoods. This study adopts a phenomenological approach, following the Stevick-Colaizzi-Keen method, to examine the forms of local ecological knowledge (LEK) held by fishermen on Barrang Lompo Island and how this knowledge informs their fishing practices. Drawing on Coleman’s Rational Choice Theory, the findings demonstrate that fishing behavior is shaped by ecological knowledge acquired through prolonged environmental interaction and passed down through generations. Rituals, traditions, and the use of ecologically responsive fishing gear are not merely cultural expressions; they are part of rational decision-making shaped by factors such as financial resources, anticipated returns, type of catch, availability of labor and equipment, market demand, pricing, and risk assessment. The choice to use or refrain from using fish bombs, for instance, reflects deliberate reasoning grounded in both experience and ecological insight. This study offers a sociological perspective on fishermen’s motivations and knowledge systems, contributing to the broader conservation discourse and highlighting the importance of knowledge transmission for fostering sustainability within fishing communities.

Abstract

This study examines the evolving relationship between digital maturity and digital transformation by conducting a bibliometric analysis. Employing a qualitative literature review supported by VOSviewer, it visualizes keyword co-occurrences and topic clusters. 67 Scopus-indexed publications from 2019 to 2023 were analyzed to uncover research trends and thematic patterns. The findings indicate a substantial rise in scholarly attention to this topic over the past five years. Core concepts such as digital transformation, maturity, technology adoption, and sustainable development emerged as central themes. In contrast, e-government and digital capability remain underexplored, suggesting future research opportunities. Theoretically, this study contributes to a more nuanced understanding of digital maturity, not merely as technological readiness but as a strategic enabler of long-term digital transformation. The study's key contribution is identifying well-developed and under-researched areas and proposing a three-phase digital transformation framework: capability development, strategic alignment, and data-driven sustainable transformation. A key limitation lies in the absence of empirical validation, which underscores the need for future research using primary data and integrating complementary databases.

Abstract

Amid growing market demands for sustainability, several green micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia have begun to construct ecological identities through digital media as a strategy for value differentiation. However, these representational practices go beyond mere commercial promotion. They reflect a complex interplay between local values, global consumer expectations, and the algorithmic logic embedded within digital platforms. This study investigates how green MSME actors construct, negotiate, and perform social representations of sustainability in digital spaces. Employing an interpretive qualitative approach, the study adopts a multi-sited case study design. It uses visual-narrative analysis to examine digital campaign content from MSMEs engaged in plastic recycling, ecoprint textile production, and natural honey harvesting. Data were collected through online observation, digital document analysis, and limited narrative interviews, and analyzed through the theoretical lenses of social representation, ecological identity, performativity, and platform economy. The findings reveal three dominant patterns: (1) the symbolization of ergo-iconic value, combining tangible ecological practices with aesthetic visualizations as symbolic capital; (2) performative and algorithm-driven sustainability, where content is crafted to attract visibility within a competitive platform ecosystem; and (3) representational resistance, where certain MSMEs choose to highlight complex ecological processes that may not be “Instagrammable” but are instead educational and contextually grounded. The study concludes that the ecological identities of green MSMEs in Indonesia are shaped through representational labor that is symbolic, relational, and conditioned by structural asymmetries within the digital economy. These findings contribute to the fields of environmental communication, digital moral economies, and sustainability strategies in the context of the Global South.

Abstract

Child marriage remains a deeply rooted socio-cultural issue in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, where traditional customs, religious authority, and economic hardship intersect. This study investigates how Sasak customary law (awiq-awiq) and the roles of local religious figures, Kyai and Tuan Guru, contribute to both the persistence and potential transformation of early marriage practices. Using a qualitative approach involving interviews, participant observation, and document analysis across three regencies, Central Lombok, West Lombok, and East Lombok, the research finds that cultural traditions such as merarik kodeq (a customary elopement practice) are still widely accepted as mechanisms to preserve family honor and reduce economic burden. Although national legal frameworks, specifically Law No. 16 of 2019 on Marriage and West Nusa Tenggara Regional Regulation No. 5 of 2021 on the Prevention of Child Marriage, set a minimum legal age of 19, implementation remains weak due to widespread use of religious court dispensations and cultural resistance. Findings show that while some customary and religious leaders continue to legitimize child marriage, an increasing number have begun to reinterpret awiq-awiq in line with contemporary health, educational, and religious considerations. Village-level forums (musyawarah desa) are emerging as strategic spaces for negotiating alignment between formal legal norms and local wisdom. This study develops a culturally embedded integration model that emphasizes participatory governance, moral legitimacy, and the co-production of legal norms. It offers empirical insight into the resilience of early marriage in culturally entrenched settings. It contributes a conceptual model for rethinking legal pluralism as a framework for reform through collaboration, not confrontation. These findings expand current scholarship by repositioning customary and religious authority as key agents in adaptive and community-driven legal transformation.
