Abstract

Digital education transformation encourages the implementation of innovative learning strategies that are able to improve the quality of learning in primary education. One approach that is growing is the integration of gamification with deep learning to create meaningful, conscious, and fun learning. This article aims to analyze the implementation of gamification in basic education learning and examine its relationship with the deep learning approach as an effort to support continuous learning. The study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing eight articles obtained through Google Scholar and Publish or Perish based on the criteria of relevance to the research topic. Data is analyzed through the process of identification, selection, synthesis, and interpretation of research findings. The results of the study show that gamification is implemented through various media and learning models, such as Wordwall, Zep Quiz, Duolingo, Discovery Learning-based multimedia, Problem Based Learning, contextual learning, and e-learning gamification-based. The implementation consistently improves learning motivation, student involvement, concept understanding, learning outcomes, and critical thinking skills. In addition, gamification elements in the form of challenges, points, levels, rewards, and continuous feedback are in line with the principles of deep learning that emphasizes meaningful, reflective, and studentcentered learning. However, the results of the study show that the integration of gamification with deep learning is still limited and has not been comprehensively designed. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a learning model that integrates gamification, deep learning, and the use of artificial intelligence to support continuous learning in primary education

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strengthening of numeracy literacy through innovative mathematics learning to improve the quality of education in elementary schools. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with an elementary school teacher and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), game-based learning, and the use of concrete and digital learning media enhanced students’ participation, critical thinking, self-confidence, and numeracy skills. Despite several challenges, innovative mathematics learning effectively supports numeracy literacy development and contributes to improving the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

Conversational abilities are crucial for young learners in primary school, as they facilitate effective interaction and the sharing of thoughts. Nonetheless, numerous children continue to struggle with speaking confidently and articulating their ideas in a structured manner. This research focused on outlining how the storytelling technique can enhance speaking abilities in Indonesian language instruction. A descriptive qualitative method was utilized, involving a literature review that examined 16 pertinent national journal articles through content analysis. The results indicate that storytelling significantly boosts students' speaking abilities, which encompass fluency, vocabulary knowledge, pronunciation, intonation, self-assurance, and the capacity to convey thoughts logically. The effectiveness of this method is notably augmented when combined with appropriate teaching aids, such as storybooks, hand puppets, picture sequences, animated films, and audiovisual aids. Hence, storytelling is endorsed as a valuable educational approach to enhance the speaking skills of elementary school pupils.

Abstract

Mathematics plays an important role in elementary education because it develops students' logical, critical, creative, and systematic thinking skills. However, mathematics learning in elementary schools still faces various challenges, including students' difficulties in understanding abstract concepts, low learning motivation, and the dominance of teacher-centered instruction. Therefore, selecting appropriate learning strategies is essential to improve the quality of mathematics instruction. This study aims to analyze various mathematics learning strategies implemented in elementary schools through a literature review approach. The study collected and analyzed relevant national and international journal articles published between 2016 and 2026. Data analysis was conducted through literature identification, selection, classification, comparison, and synthesis. The findings indicate that five learning strategies are widely implemented in elementary mathematics education, namely Problem Based Learning, Realistic Mathematics Education, Discovery Learning, Cooperative Learning, and Problem Solving. Each strategy has distinctive characteristics, advantages, and limitations. Overall, these strategies contribute positively to improving conceptual understanding, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving ability, learning motivation, collaboration, and student learning outcomes. The study concludes that no single strategy is universally effective for all mathematics topics.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading interest and early reading ability of first-grade students at SDN Setono 1. The purpose of this study was to improve students’ reading interest and early reading ability through the implementation of the Reading Aloud method. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were 12 first-grade students of SDN Setono 1, consisting of 6 male and 6 female students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, reading tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the Reading Aloud method effectively improved students’ reading interest and early reading ability. The percentage of students with good reading interest increased from 41.67% in the pre-cycle to 66.67% in Cycle I and reached 91.67% in Cycle II. Students’ early reading ability also improved, as indicated by the learning mastery percentage, which increased from 41.67% in the pre-cycle to 66.67% in Cycle I and reached 91.67% in Cycle II. The average reading score improved from 63.75 in the pre-cycle to 74.58 in Cycle I and 86.25 in Cycle II. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the Reading Aloud method is effective in improving reading interest and early reading ability among first-grade students of SDN Setono 1.

Abstract

The diversity of religious practices within the Muslim community is a reality encountered in educational environments, including at the elementary school level. Therefore, learning religious moderation is an important strategy in building internal harmony among Muslims from an early age. This study aims to describe the implementation of religious moderation learning, identify the values developed, and analyze the supporting factors and challenges of its implementation at MIN 1 Madiun City. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and concluding. Data validity was carried out through source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of religious moderation learning is carried out through inclusive learning, introduction of the concept of *khilafiyah*, habituation of tolerance, deliberation, respect for tradition, and strengthening a harmonious school culture. The leadership of the madrasah principal, teacher competence, and a conducive school culture support successful implementation. However, limited teaching materials and family influences pose challenges and hamper implementation. The implications of this research indicate that religious moderation learning can be an effective strategy for developing moderate, tolerant student character and fostering internal harmony within the Muslim community. It also serves as a good practice that other elementary schools and madrasahs can adapt.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of AI on students' cognitive, social, and emotional development through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The findings reveal that AI enhances cognitive development by providing personalized learning experiences and improving conceptual understanding. However, excessive dependence on AI may reduce students' working memory and problem-solving skills due to cognitive offloading. Socially, AI supports collaborative learning but may also decrease authentic interpersonal interactions and empathy. Emotionally, while affective computing can help identify students' emotional conditions, intensive interaction with AI may encourage unhealthy emotional attachment through anthropomorphism. This study highlights the importance of implementing AI through a hybrid pedagogical approach, strengthening AI ethics literacy, and prioritizing students' psychological well-being.

Abstract

Despite these benefits, the integration of learning media into classroom instruction continues to encounter several obstacles, including teachers' limited professional competence, insufficient innovation in choosing appropriate instructional media, and inadequate educational infrastructure. This study was conducted to analyze the utilization of learning media in elementary school Pancasila Education using a qualitative literature review approach. The analysis was based on nine relevant articles published in national scientific journals, with the data examined through content analysis involving data reduction, data organization, and conclusion formulation. The review demonstrates that both conventional and digital media positively influence students' learning motivation, classroom engagement, and comprehension of Pancasila Education content. However, the success of media implementation is strongly affected by teachers' professional capabilities, the suitability of the selected media for instructional objectives, and the availability of adequate learning facilities. Accordingly, strengthening teachers' competencies and improving educational resources are essential to maximize the effectiveness of learning media in Pancasila Education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Evaluasi pembelajaran merupakan komponen penting dalam proses pendidikan karena berfungsi untuk mengukur ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran serta menjadi dasar dalam pengambilan keputusan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Meskipun perkembangan teknologi telah mendorong penggunaan asesmen berbasis digital, metode paper and pen masih banyak digunakan karena mudah diterapkan, tidak bergantung pada perangkat teknologi, serta mampu mengukur kemampuan kognitif peserta didik secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik, implementasi, kelebihan, keterbatasan, dan relevansi metode paper and pen dalam evaluasi pembelajaran pada era digital. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kepustakaan melalui penelaahan berbagai buku, artikel ilmiah, dan hasil penelitian yang relevan. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa metode paper and pen masih efektif digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, kemampuan menulis, pemahaman konsep, dan kemampuan analitis peserta didik. Namun demikian, metode ini memiliki keterbatasan berupa proses penilaian yang membutuhkan waktu lebih lama, penggunaan kertas yang cukup banyak, serta pengelolaan data yang kurang efisien dibandingkan dengan asesmen digital. Oleh karena itu, integrasi antara metode paper and pen dan teknologi digital dapat menjadi alternatif untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan kualitas evaluasi pembelajaran.

Abstract

Canva-based learning media is one of the innovations that can support the learning process by presenting instructional materials in a more engaging, interactive, and communicative manner. The various features available in Canva, such as templates, illustrations, icons, images, animations, and videos, enable teachers to develop learning media that are appropriate to the characteristics and learning needs of students. The development of Canva-based learning media involves several stages, including analyzing learning materials, selecting appropriate templates, organizing content using concise and easy-to-understand text, adding relevant visual elements, and finalizing the media in the form of presentation slides or videos. The presentation of learning materials through attractive designs supported by appropriate visual elements can enhance students' attention, motivation, participation, and interest in learning, thereby creating a more effective and enjoyable learning environment. Therefore, Canva can serve as an alternative digital platform that supports teachers in developing creative, innovative, and technology-based learning media.
