Abstract

Abstract: One of the efforts to improve the language skills of fourth grade students is through the introduction of literature in the form of poetry. However, in practice, many students still have difficulty writing poetry, so that the learning outcomes on the material have not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study aims to describe the application of the Quantum Teaching method with pictorial and audiovisual media and to describe the improvement in the poetry writing skills of fourth grade students of SDN 2 Blembem, Jambon District, Ponorogo Regency. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles on 11 students from March to June 2026. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages, with the application of the TANDUR syntax (Grow, Experience, Name, Demonstrate, Repeat, Celebrate). Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, then analyzed on cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The results of the study showed a significant increase: the average cognitive score increased from 56 in cycle I to 86 in cycle II, affective from 60 to 89, and psychomotor from 65 to 93, with classical learning completion increasing from 55% to 100%. It was concluded that the application of the Quantum Teaching method with pictorial and audiovisual media effectively improved the poetry writing ability of fourth-grade students of SDN 2 Blembem.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the actual state of governance, facility availability, and levels of public visitation and reading interest through an observational study at the Ngawi Regency Library. A descriptive-qualitative method was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as direct observation, brief interviews with library staff, and documentation review. The observations indicate that the Ngawi Regency Regional Library possesses adequate infrastructure and has begun implementing digital services, such as an e-catalog and a digital reading area. However, certain persistent challenges remain, notably an unstable internet connection. Furthermore, daily visits are predominantly made by school and university students during specific hours, while participation from the general public remains low.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading interest and early reading ability of first-grade students at SDN Setono 1. The purpose of this study was to improve students’ reading interest and early reading ability through the implementation of the Reading Aloud method. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were 12 first-grade students of SDN Setono 1, consisting of 6 male and 6 female students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, reading tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the Reading Aloud method effectively improved students’ reading interest and early reading ability. The percentage of students with good reading interest increased from 41.67% in the pre-cycle to 66.67% in Cycle I and reached 91.67% in Cycle II. Students’ early reading ability also improved, as indicated by the learning mastery percentage, which increased from 41.67% in the pre-cycle to 66.67% in Cycle I and reached 91.67% in Cycle II. The average reading score improved from 63.75 in the pre-cycle to 74.58 in Cycle I and 86.25 in Cycle II. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the Reading Aloud method is effective in improving reading interest and early reading ability among first-grade students of SDN Setono 1.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem-solving skills of elementary school students regarding the volume of three-dimensional shapes based on Polya’s steps. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with five fifth-grade students from SDN 1 Mojo selected based on their problem-solving ability test results. Data were collected through written tests and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that students’ abilities varied at each stage of Polya’s model. Some students were able to understand the problem and formulate a plan accurately but still made errors during the execution stage, particularly in calculations and in understanding the concepts of diameter and radius. In addition, most students did not thoroughly check their answers, making the checking stage the least mastered. Therefore, students’ mathematical problem-solving skills need to be improved, particularly in the execution and checking stages.

Abstract

The development of  Artificial Intelligence (AI) has created various opportunities to enhance the quality of learning, including the implementation of formative assessments in primary schools. In Natural Science (IPA) education, formative assessment plays a crucial role in monitoring the development of student understanding, providing continuous feedback, and helping teachers determine instructional strategies tailored to students' needs. However, the implementation of formative assessment still faces obstacles, such as teachers' limited time for developing assessment instruments, providing individual feedback, and analyzing student learning outcomes. This article aims to describe the use of AI to support formative assessment in primary school science education, identify the benefits gained, and examine the challenges of its implementation. The study employs a literature review approach, analyzing relevant scholarly articles, books, proceedings, and policy documents concerning AI, formative assessment, and primary school science education. Data were analyzed descriptively through processes of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that AI can support the adaptive creation of assessment questions, provide faster and more personalized feedback, analyze student learning achievements, and assist teachers in identifying learning difficulties to design appropriate follow-up instruction. Beyond increasing the efficiency of formative assessment, AI also has the potential to foster learning that is more differentiated and student-centered. Nevertheless, AI implementation faces challenges such as limited teacher digital literacy, technological infrastructure readiness, personal data protection concerns, and the need for ethical guidelines regarding its use. Therefore, the use of AI should be positioned as a tool to support teacher professionalism rather than a replacement for the teacher's role in the learning process. Properly designed AI integration is expected to enhance the quality of formative assessment and support the creation of more effective, adaptive, and meaningful science learning in primary schools.

Abstract

Multiliteracy refers to the ability to understand, interpret, and use various forms of information in social, cultural, and educational contexts. Strengthening multiliteracy through local folklore for elementary school children is important because students need not only reading and writing skills, but also cultural awareness and understanding of their social environment. However, low reading interest and limited use of local folktales in learning have caused regional folklore to be increasingly neglected. This study aims to describe the results of anexpedition research in developing the plot framework of the Sendang Kamal legend as a local folklore based multiliteracy learning medium in Kraton Village, Maospati District, Magetan Regency. This study used a qualitative approach with the Expedition Field Technique method through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and triangulation of sources and techniques to ensure data validity. The results show that the Sendang Kamal legend is related to the history of Kawambang Kulwan, Ancient Mataram, Islamic Mataram, community traditions, and local beliefs that still exist today. The study produced a plot framework based on oral history, language structure, tradition, and local wisdom. The legend contains moral values of mutual cooperation, gratitude, respect for ancestors, environmental care, and local cultural preservation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile in Civic Education (PKn) learning at the elementary school level, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate strategies to optimize its implementation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review by analyzing relevant scientific articles and previous studies. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile has been integrated into Civic Education learning through student-centered learning activities, collaborative discussions, problem-solving, school habituation programs, and the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5). The success of its implementation is influenced by teachers' competence, school culture, adequate learning facilities, and collaboration among schools, families, and communities. However, several challenges remain, particularly differences in teachers' understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum and the integration of Pancasila values into classroom practices. Therefore, strengthening teacher competence and stakeholder collaboration is essential to optimize character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Canva-based animated instructional videos for the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject for third-grade students at SDN Gayam 1, and to determine their feasibility and effectiveness in enhancing student interest and learning outcomes. The study employs the Research and Development (RD) method using the 4D model, comprising the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The research subjects were third-grade students at SDN Gayam 1. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, validation sheets, learning outcome tests, and questionnaires. The results indicate that the Canva-based animated instructional videos are valid, practical, and effective for use in IPAS instruction. The use of this medium increased student engagement in the learning process and facilitated a better understanding of the material regarding the growth of living things

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed various aspects of human life, particularly in the field of education. This phenomenon requires individuals, especially students, to possess AI literacy and a strong understanding of digital ethics to use technology wisely, critically, and responsibly. This article aims to examine the role of education in improving AI literacy and promoting digital ethics in the era of Artificial Intelligence. The study employs a literature review method by analyzing various scientific sources related to education, AI literacy, and digital ethics. The findings indicate that education plays a strategic role in equipping learners with knowledge about how AI works, developing critical thinking toward AI-generated information, and fostering the ability to use AI ethically. Furthermore, education contributes to instilling values of responsibility, academic integrity, personal data protection, and awareness of the social impacts of AI technologies. The integration of AI literacy and digital ethics into the learning process is essential for preparing a generation that is not only technologically competent but also possesses strong moral character and responsibility in facing future developments in Artificial Intelligence.

Abstract

Learning addition is one of the basic mathematics subjects that elementary school students must master because it serves as a foundation for learning other arithmetic operations. However, students still have difficulty understanding the concept of addition due to the abstract nature of the material and the lack of appropriate teaching strategies. This research aims to analyze the application of the addition concept in elementary school mathematics learning thru a literature review. The study employs a literature review method by collecting and analyzing various relevant scientific articles on the addition concept, the use of concrete media, and mathematics learning strategies in elementary schools. Data analysis is conducted using content analysis techniques to identify the main findings from various studies. The results of the study indicate that the use of concrete media, active learning strategies, and contextual learning can enhance the understanding of the concept of addition, calculation skills, and student engagement. These findings indicate that learning tailored to the developmental characteristics of students can create more effective and meaningful mathematics education.
