Abstract

Abstract

This paper is going to discuss the phenomenon of lesbian Jogja as a social fact. Lesbian behavior is only beginning to be something suitable for consumption by lesbian world, but a decade now, the worldbecomes a product and lesbian public consumption, like it or not there are very real to all of us before and we have to address in the frame is a multicultural society. Another purpose of this paper does not want to look back on how far the phenomenon of lesbians, particularly in the 1980s or when the author was a student of Anthropology in 2005, as an inscription which is still a draft paper for course assignments Sex, Society, and Culture is still very relevant to today’s world, although in fact, when compared with the world Gay, lesbian world more closed. The method used is descriptive analysis, through the later cases seen in theory and then interpreted. The result of this thinking , states that the discourse of “ lesbian “ in the era of technology is not new and taboo. Today, the lesbian world is very open and acceptable in all walks of life. Lesbian world considered marginal. This assessment is different from the standpoint of psychological, social, cultural, and religious. In the context of a patriarchal tradition, always puts the position of women as subordinate to men. Thus , in order to be accepted in the lesbian community, especially the middle of the environment, whether family, friends hanging out, and the others, then lesbians must take an active role in various social activities, social organizations, even religious.

Abstract

This research is motivated by crisis, especially of UGM (Universitas Gadjah Mada) identity andof philosophical foundations of its scientific development. This study aims to inventory, analyzesynthesize, critically evaluate, as well as construct a philosophical foundation of scientific development originating in UGM values. The study employs a reflective, systematic philosophical research model.Data consists mainly of documents data, supported by field data collected through participantobservation and in-depth interviews. Material objects of research are values contained in the university’slegal basis or statute, symbols of its identity attributes, and thoughts of its leaders, while formal objectof research is philosophy, particularly philosophy of values (axiology) and philosophy of science. Datawill be analyzed using elements of methodical study of philosophy, especially interpretive analysis in aheuristic framework to come to conclusion. The results show that: First, history of ideas indicates that GMU scholars have proposed andjustified concept and model of scientific development based on GMU (Gadjah Mada University)values, that is the concept of “Pancasila as (1) guidance (2) orientation and (3) paradigm of scientificand technological development.” Scientific models that were successfully developed are (1) Pancasilaicscience and knowledge and Science of State and Law of Pancasila (Ilmu Negara dan Hukum Pancasila)by Notonagoro; (2) Pancasila Economics (Ilmu Ekonomi Pancasila) by Mubyarto; and (3) PropheticSocial Science (Ilmu Sosial Profetis) by Kuntowijoyo. Second, the concept of scientific developmentdeveloped by GMU-based scholars is actually built on basic assumptions that science is not value-freeand, thereby, teleological, i.e. acting for the sake of human civilization, usefulness, and happiness. These axiological and metaphysical assumptions are heavily influenced by a metaphysical belief that recognizes the existence and power of God. These axiological and metaphysical assumptions epistemologically imply that there is a source of knowledge and truth other than scientific knowledge and truth.

Abstract

This study describes four reliefs of Ramayana Prambanan which depicts the event that Ade beenexperienced and performed by Rama as affirmation that he is the incarnation of Vishnu ―the god of thepreserver. The designer and sculptor of those reliefs considered that this event was important. Fromthe twenty-four of Ramayana’s relief panels, there are four relief panels which depict this event. Datawas collected by observing the entire Ramayana reliefs in Shiva temple and Brahma, in the Prambanancomplex. Relief was read by using the Flat Time Space (RWD) theory and compared with the textof the Old Javanese Ramayana (RJK). RJK text was used as a comparison, because the manufactureand the writings of RJK relief were made in the same period in nine centuries. It was conceivable thatboth of them were made from the same source. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the eventperformed by Rama asserts that he is the incarnation of Vishnu. As the incarnation of Vishnu, Rama isable to purify and to preserve life.

Abstract

The management of coastal areas in Indonesia has now been decentralized. This study tries to analyze qualitatively how the coastal area management has been done in Tangerang District, more precisely in Kohod Village, Pakuhaji Sub-District. Kohod Village became one of the three pilot projects village of Kampung Sejahtera conducted by Organisasi Aksi Solidaritas Era Kabinet Kerja (OASE Kabinet Kerja). Despite the considerable potential of coconut and laksa noodle development, but poverty, unemployment and slums are still the major problem in Kohod Village. Therefore, the development of coastal areas in this village can’t be left entirely to the local community. It takes the role of the government and private sector to support the development acceleration in this village. Thus, the development of coastal areas in Kohod Village should be done using collaborative approach.
