Abstract

The phenomenon of broken home families among elementary school students has become a significant social and psychological issue affecting learning motivation, emotional stability, character development, and academic achievement. This study aims to analyze the relationship between incomplete family conditions and students’ learning motivation, as well as the role of cognitive resilience, social support, and the school environment in maintaining academic achievement among students at MI Al Ikhlas Ancaran. Specifically, this study examines: (1) students’ cognitive conditions and learning motivation, (2) factors influencing cognitive resilience, (3) the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in supporting learning motivation, and (4) Islamic value-based strategies to strengthen students’ cognitive resilience and learning motivation. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The participants included students from broken home families, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and homeroom teachers. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that students from broken home families generally possess relatively good cognitive resilience, enabling them to adapt to academic challenges and manage emotional stress effectively. Their learning motivation was categorized as moderate to good, reflecting strong internal encouragement to achieve despite family difficulties. The study also found that Islamic value-based strategies effectively strengthen cognitive resilience and learning motivation. Furthermore, a positive relationship exists between cognitive resilience and learning motivation, where higher resilience contributes to stronger learning motivation. Supportive family environments, madrasah settings, and positive peer relationships were identified as important factors in enhancing students’ resilience and academic motivation.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has provided students with easier access to religious information through the internet and social media. However, this condition also presents challenges because not all circulating information reflects the values of religious moderation. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in developing students’ understanding of religious moderation in the digital era. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at SDN 010 Bangko Pusako, Rokan Hilir Regency. The research subjects consisted of PAI teachers as the main informants, while the principal and students served as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model involving data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that PAI teachers understand religious moderation as a balanced, tolerant attitude that respects differences. Teachers play significant roles as educators, mentors, and role models in instilling moderation values through discussion methods, contextual examples, and the use of digital media. The main challenge faced is the abundance of unverified religious information on social media that may influence students’ understanding. This study implies that PAI teachers have a strategic role in shaping moderate religious attitudes through interactive learning and continuous guidance in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has brought significant changes to various sectors, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and pedagogical implications of AI integration in PAI learning. Using a qualitative approach with library research method, this study examines primary and secondary sources relevant to AI in Islamic education. The results show that AI integration in PAI learning provides opportunities in the form of learning personalization, increased accessibility of religious materials, evaluation efficiency, and development of interactive learning media based on Islamic values. On the other hand, challenges faced include the risk of dehumanization of education, threats to spiritual values, digital gaps, and ethical issues regarding data privacy. The pedagogical implications emphasize the importance of reconstructing the PAI educator paradigm that can integrate digital literacy with spiritual wisdom, so that AI technology serves as a tool, not a substitute, in forming a Muslim generation with noble character and global insight. This study concludes that with proper management, AI has the potential to be an effective supporting tool in creating relevant, adaptive, and Islamic value-based PAI learning.

Abstract

Love for the homeland is one of the important character values that should be instilled in the younger generation to strengthen unity, nationalism, and national identity. In the era of globalization, various challenges such as the decline of national spirit and the erosion of character values have become significant concerns in the field of education. This study aims to analyze the concept of love for the homeland from the perspective of hadith tarbawi, identify the educational values contained within it, and explain the role of Islamic education in fostering nationalism among students. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach through the examination of the Qur’an, hadith, books, journals, and other relevant scholarly sources. The findings reveal that the value of love for the homeland is consistent with Islamic teachings, which emphasize unity, social responsibility, respect for diversity, and commitment to the nation and the state. Hadith tarbawi contains character education values that can serve as a foundation for developing students’ sense of nationalism. Furthermore, Islamic education and teachers play strategic roles as educators, role models, and mentors in internalizing the values of love for the homeland through both learning processes and daily practices. The implications of this study indicate that strengthening the value of love for the homeland based on hadith tarbawi can serve as an alternative approach to developing a generation with noble character, a strong national spirit, and the ability to maintain national unity and integrity within a diverse society.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and artificial intelligence has fundamentally transformed how knowledge is acquired, managed, and disseminated, pressuring education especially Islamic education to adapt without losing its spiritual and moral identity. This study aims to analyze the reconstruction of educational philosophy in the digital era to establish a system that is solutive, relevant, and vision-oriented in producing generations who are intellectually competent while possessing high spiritual integrity. Using a qualitative approach involving literature study and qualitative content analysis, the study examines literature on the ontology, epistemology, and axiology of education, as well as previous research related to digital transformation and responsive curricula. The findings indicate that educational philosophy remains the primary foundation for determining the direction, objectives, and implementation of the educational process; the epistemological dimension requires reconstruction through an integrative paradigm that combines revelation, reason, empirical experience, and digital literacy; while axiology plays a strategic role in shaping ethical character amid unverified information flows. This finding underscores the urgency of transforming the paradigm from a textual approach toward a contextual-integrative one capable of harmonizing technological sophistication with the internalization of moral and spiritual values. The study's limitation lies in its conceptual nature without empirical verification; therefore, further studies are recommended to test the model through case studies, experiments, or surveys across various multicultural contexts.

Abstract

The development of Islamic education in Indonesia during the New Order era and the policies that followed cannot be separated from the nation's historical development and educational policies over time. Islamic education has significantly contributed to shaping the national education system, while its integration into the system has created reciprocal influences between Islamic and national education. During the New Order period (1966–1998)., major changes occurred in Islamic civilization in Indonesia. Although the Soeharto government restricted political Islam through the implementation of Pancasila as the sole ideology, it simultaneously supported the formal development of Islamic education. Indonesia's education system continued to experience a dualistic structure separating general and religious education, a condition inherited from the Dutch colonial period. This study aims to examine the development of Islamic education, the role of Islam in Indonesia, and educational policies during the New Order era. Using a literature review approach, the findings indicate that education was a primary concern of Indonesian Muslims from the early spread of Islam. However, educational policies were often influenced by political interests. Therefore, educational policy should remain independent of political intervention to achieve educational objectives and produce high-quality future generations.

Abstract

The development of modern society, characterized by changes in the social, cultural, political, economic, and technological spheres, requires a Qur'anic interpretation that is capable of addressing contemporary issues in a relevant manner. Interpretive approaches that focus solely on textual aspects are often insufficient to explain the dynamic realities of society. Therefore, this article examines the integration of social sciences into Qur'anic interpretation through an interdisciplinary approach as an effort to enhance the relevance of contemporary tafsir studies. This study employs a qualitative method based on library research. The data were collected from various academic books and scholarly journal articles discussing contemporary tafsir methodology, interdisciplinary approaches, and the integration of social sciences into Qur'anic studies. The data were then analyzed using content analysis and a descriptive-critical approach to explore the contribution of social sciences to the development of Qur'anic interpretation. The findings indicate that the incorporation of perspectives from sociology, anthropology, political science, and economics helps connect the messages of the Qur'an with social realities. This approach broadens the scope of tafsir analysis and strengthens its ability to address contemporary humanitarian issues. Nevertheless, its application must remain balanced to prevent social theories from overshadowing the authority of the revealed text, while ensuring that established principles of tafsir methodology are maintained.

Abstract

The "Marriage is Scary" phenomenon has been widely discussed by Generation Z across various social media platforms, reflecting a shift in perception and increasing anxiety toward marriage. This study aims to identify the factors triggering Generation Z's fear of marriage in the modern era and to review this phenomenon through the perspectives of Fiqih Munakahat (Islamic jurisprudence of marriage) and Fiqih Muamalah (Islamic jurisprudence of social and economic transactions). This qualitative study employs a literature review approach (library research), using primary sources from the Al-Qur'an, Hadith, and classical Fiqih books, alongside secondary data from relevant scientific journals. The findings reveal that Generation Z's fear of marriage is influenced by economic challenges, including the high cost of living and financial instability, widespread exposure to negative social media content, traumatic family experiences, inadequate mental and emotional readiness, and unrealistic expectations in choosing a partner. From the perspective of Fiqih Munakahat, this fear is considered a form of caution as long as it does not result in rejecting the sacred institution of marriage (mitsaqan ghalizha). Meanwhile, Fiqih Muamalah emphasizes honest, fair, and transparent financial management and the pursuit of lawful (halal) income rather than wealth accumulation. The study concludes that Islam offers comprehensive spiritual, mental, emotional, and financial preparation to help Generation Z view marriage as worship that brings sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has transformed the dissemination of Islamic teachings, particularly through social media platforms. This study analyzes the dynamics of contemporary Islamic culture, innovations in digital religious content, and the role of digital platforms in supporting da'wah and shaping the religious identity of younger generations. The study employed a literature review by examining relevant scholarly publications on digital da'wah, social media, and Islamic education. The findings reveal that digital platforms provide broad opportunities to promote Islamic values through innovative formats such as short videos, podcasts, infographics, and animations, enabling wider public engagement. Nevertheless, the digital environment also presents challenges, including misinformation, superficial religious understanding, algorithm-driven content consumption, and the commodification of religious values. These issues highlight the need to strengthen digital literacy and integrate Islamic values into digital communication practices. The study concludes that digital platforms can serve as effective and responsible media for da'wah and Islamic religious education when supported by critical digital literacy, ethical content production, and value-based communication strategies.
