Abstract

The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that approximately 972 million people, or 26.4% of the global population, suffer from hypertension, and this figure is projected to rise to 60%, affecting 1.56 billion people by 2025. Of the 972 million people with hypertension, 333 million are in developed countries, and the remaining 639 million are in developing countries, including Indonesia. This study aims to examine the relationship between fast food consumption habits and the incidence of hypertension among young adult women in the Bengkulu City Pasar Ikan Community Health Centre Working Area in 2025. The research method used is analytical observational research with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with a sample size of 69 young adult women. The results of the univariate analysis showed that most of the respondents (65.2%) often ate fast food, and almost half of the respondents (42%) had hypertension. The results of the bivariate analysis showed a relationship between fast food consumption habits and the incidence of hypertension in young adult women (p=0.000). There is a relationship between the habit of eating fast food and the incidence of hypertension in young adult women in the working area of the Pasar Ikan Community Health Centre in Bengkulu City in 2024. The researchers suggest that respondents reduce their consumption of unhealthy fast food, such as foods containing fat and foods high in sodium or salt, which can increase the incidence of hypertension.

Abstract

Corn is an agricultural commodity being developed in Simpang Village, Bantarkalong District, Tasikmalaya Regency. However, the participation of the Waluya III Farmers Group in corn cultivation is still below standard, mainly due to obstacles in obtaining fertilizer as needed. This study aims to analyze the influence of agricultural extension workers on farmer participation in the implementation of the No-Tillage System (TOT). The method used is a survey with a quantitative descriptive approach through observation and distribution of questionnaires to farmer group members. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS through partial tests (t-test) and simultaneous tests (F-test) at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that all roles of extension workers, including facilitator, innovator, motivator, dynamicator, educator, and communicator, have a positive and significant effect on farmer participation. The significance value of the t-test and F-test of 0.000 <0.05 proves that the role of extension workers plays an important role in increasing farmer participation in the implementation of the TOT system.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is a vital pillar of the Indonesian economy, including through the export of high-value horticultural commodities such as mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana). Indonesia, particularly West Java, is a major mangosteen producer, with China serving as the largest destination market due to the increasing demand for quality tropical fruit. Despite substantial export opportunities, mangosteen export performance is influenced by global economic factors such as international prices, exchange rates, and the purchasing power of destination countries, as reflected in Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This study aims to analyze the factors influencing demand for Indonesian mangosteen exports to China for the 2015–2024 period. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis with the independent variables being mangosteen prices, the Rupiah/Yuan exchange rate, and China's GDP. Data were obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the Ministry of Trade, and other international institutions. The results show that all three variables have a significant simultaneous effect. Partially, prices and China's GDP have a significant positive effect, while the exchange rate has a significant negative effect. These findings emphasize the importance of price stability and strengthening trade relations to increase Indonesian mangosteen exports.

Abstract

The availability of stable and quality wood raw materials is very important to maintain the smooth production process of haspel, because unstable supply and poor wood quality can hamper production and reduce the quality of the final product. This study aims to analyze the effect of the availability and quality of raw materials on production volume in the haspel plate industry of Himas Mekar Sukaraja. The method used is quantitative research with a case study approach, involving 32 respondents who are directly involved in the production process. The results show that the availability of raw materials (X1) has a significant and positive effect on production volume (Y), where the higher the availability of raw materials, the greater the production volume produced. The quality of raw materials (X2) also has a significant and positive effect on production volume, which means that increasing the quality of wood will increase production output. Simultaneously, both variables of availability and quality of raw materials have a significant effect on production volume, so that increasing both is an important factor in maintaining and increasing the productivity of the haspel industry of Himas Mekar Sukaraja.

Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) and neonatal asphyxia are major contributors to neonatal morbidity and mortality. Maternal factors such as active pulmonary tuberculosis may further worsen neonatal conditions through impaired intrauterine oxygenation, placing infants at high risk and requiring intensive physiological stabilization from the early neonatal period. Developmental care is a non-pharmacological intervention based on evidence-based practice that focuses on environmental regulation and stimulation tailored to the infant’s developmental needs. This case study aimed to describe the implementation of developmental care on physiological stabilization in a low birth weight infant with mild asphyxia born to a mother with active pulmonary tuberculosis. The study employed a case study design involving a one-day-old male neonate treated in a level II perinatology unit of a provincial referral hospital. The intervention was conducted over four days and included environmental modification, reduction of noise and lighting, use of nesting, implementation of clustered care, and maternal involvement through education and auditory stimulation. Physiological parameters observed included body temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturation, sucking reflex, sleep patterns, level of calmness, and weight changes. The results demonstrated improved physiological stabilization, as indicated by vital signs within normal ranges, enhanced sucking reflex, improved sleep quality, and weight gain. Developmental care has the potential to support physiological adaptation and is recommended as an evidence-based neonatal nursing practice.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding refers to providing only breast milk and no other food or drink to infants from birth to 6 months of age, except for medications and vitamins (Humune et al., 2020). A 2022 survey by the World Health Organization (WHO) found that exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia was 67.96%, compared to 69.7% in 2021. This data indicates a decline in exclusive breastfeeding coverage (WHO, 2023). Data from Bengkulu Province recorded exclusive breastfeeding coverage of 66.5% in Bengkulu City (Health Profile of Bengkulu Province). This study aims to determine the correlation between maternal knowledge and husband's support and the success of exclusive breastfeeding in the Working Area of Kandang Health Center of Bengkulu City. The method used was an analytical research design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 43 respondents using a total sampling technique. Univariate analysis results showed that almost half of the respondents (46.5%) had insufficient knowledge, the majority (58.1%) did not receive support from their husbands, and the majority (55.8%) did not provide exclusive breastfeeding. Bivariate analysis results showed a significant correlation between maternal knowledge and husband's support and the success of exclusive breastfeeding in the Working Area of Kandang Health Center of Bengkulu City (p-value = 0.01). It is recommended that the health center provide education on exclusive breastfeeding and the factors influencing its success.
