Journal Studies in Indonesian Language and Literature menerbitkan makalah penelitian di bidang pengajaran bahasa, sastra, dan linguistik. Journal Studies in Indonesian Language and Literature memprioritaskan penelitian yang baru dan penting untuk kemajuan pengetahuan di salah satu bidang yang diterbitkan. Jurnal ini menerima naskah dari seluruh dunia dan juga dari Indonesia. Naskah yang diterbitkan meliputi: Linguistik: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, psikolinguistik, sosiolinguistik, dan analisis wacana kritis. Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia: pengembangan kurikulum, metode pembelajaran, materi pembelajaran, media pembelajaran, penilaian, pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia lintas kurikulum, teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, keterampilan berbahasa, dan analisis pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam teks kelong karya Kembong Daeng yang diposting melalui media sosial facebook. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam teks kelong karya Kembong Daeng melalui media sosial facebookyaitu: (1) nilai religius (ikhlas, ketaatan, dan kesadaran spiritual), (2) nilai nasionalisme (semangat kebangsaan, dan kepedulian sosial), (3) nilai integritas (berpikir rasional, tanggung jawab, dan konsisten), (4) nilai mandiri (tekun, disiplin, dan pengendalian diri) dan (5) nilai gotong royong (cinta damai, tolongmenolong, dan solidaritas). Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam teks kelong karya Kembong Daeng yang diposting melalui media sosial facebook terdapat nilai pendidikan karakter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelanggaran maksim kuantitas, maksim kualitas, maksim relevansi, dan maksim cara dalam novel Tulisan Sastra karya Tenderlova. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata-kata atau kalimat yang dianggap melanggar satu atau lebih dari empat maksim kerja sama yang ada dalam novel Tulisan Sastra. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Tulisan Sasrta karya Tenderlova. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan Teknik Membaca dan mencatat. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis model Miles dan Huberman, yang meliputi proses pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan penarikan simpulan.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan, (1) Pelanggaran maskim kauntitas dalam novel Tulisan Sastra karya Tenderlova sebanyak 6 data. (2) Pelanggaran maskim kualitas dalam novel Tulisan Sastra karya Tenderlova sebanyak 3 data. (3) Pelanggaran maskim relevansi dalam novel Tulisan Sastra karya Tenderlova sebanyak 15 data. (4) Pelanggaran maskim cara dalam novel Tulisan Sastra karya Tenderlova sebanyak 3 data.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kulitatif yaitu bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana perjuangan perempuan dalam film “Penyalin Cahaya” dilihat dari posisi subjek-objek dan penonton berdasarkan analisis wacana Kritis Sara Mills. Fokus penelitian hanya berfokus pada posisi subjek, objek dan penonton terhadap perjuangan perempuan dalam film Penyalin Cahaya karya wregas Bhanuteja. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa tokoh Rama yang menempatkan laki-laki sebagai subjek dominan dalam suatu narasi, tokoh Sur di tempatkan sebagai objek dalam bagaimana dia diposisikan dalam relasi kekuasaan yang lebih besar sedangkan posisi penonton Penonton diajak berpihak pada Sur sebagai korban dan pencari kebenaran. Film Penyalin Cahaya karya Wregas Bhanuteja merepresentasikan perjuangan perempuan melawan ketidakadilan dalam sistem patriarki. Dalam analisis Sara Mills, Rama sebagai subjek mengontrol narasi, sementara perempuan menjadi objek yang dimarginalkan. Film ini mengajak penonton merasakan perjuangan korban serta mengkritisi ketidakadilan struktural.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the ability of Grade VIII students at UPT SMP Negeri 3 Lappariaja, Bone Regency, in writing persuasive texts in Bugis. The population consisted of 45 students from two classes (VIII A and VIII B). Total sampling was employed, and data collection used tests. Results showed that the average score of students' ability in writing persuasive texts in Bugis was 72.76, categorized as proficient. However, based on the criteria that students' ability is considered proficient if 70% or more of the sample students score 70-100, and not proficient if less than 70%, the students' ability in writing persuasive texts in Bugis is considered not proficient. This is because only 26 students (58%) scored 70-100. Therefore, the ability of Grade VIII students at UPT SMP Negeri 3 Lappariaja in writing persuasive texts in Bugis is categorized as not proficient.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kecepatan membaca dan pemahaman isi bacaan dengan menggunakan teknik skimming pada siswa kelas VIII 1 SMP Negeri 26 Makassar. Metode penelitian pada karya ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Adapun data dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII 1 UPT SPF SMP Negeri 26 Makassar. Untuk teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu data primer dan sekunder, Pada bagian data primer peneliti menggunakan observasi dan pada data sekunder menggunakan berita. Validitas data dilakukan pada penelitian ini menguji keabsahan data. Adapun proses penelitian, pertama peneliti memberikan teks berita mendalam sebagai bahan uji yang siswa baca dengan menggunakan teknik skimming yang akan dinilai oleh peneliti seberapa cepat siswa tersebut membaca, kedua setelah siswa berhasil membaca teks berita mendalam selanjutnya peneliti memberikan sebuah esai sebanyak 6 nomor yang telah mengandung unsur 5W+1H sebagai bahan uji untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 17 siswa berhasil memenuhi kategori rata-rata kecepatan baca ideal dengan 150-300 Kpm dan 24 siswa berhasil memenuhi kategori baik pada pemahaman isi bacaan dengan 71-90 nilai. Hal ini menunjukkan siswa kelas VIII 1 UPT SPF SMP Negeri 26 Makassar telah memenuhi kategori terampil untuk keterampilan membaca ekstensif.

Abstract

The general purpose of this study is to analyze the politeness of language of legislative candidates in podcasts on Tribun Timur.com. The data collection method used is a qualitative description method. Qualitative research generally adopts a case study design that focuses on a particular phenomenon to be understood while other phenomena are ignored. The results of this study indicate that the politeness of language of legislative candidates in the Tribun Timur.com podcast more often adheres to maxims, especially in terms of generosity, wisdom, and agreement. Based on the analysis of the data found, it can be concluded that the politeness of language of legislative candidates in the Tribun Timur.com podcast adheres to maxims more than those who do not, especially in terms of generosity, wisdom, and agreement.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms of local wisdom and the values of local wisdom in the novel "Sayat-Sayat Sunyi" by S. Gegge Mappangewa. This research is a qualitative study using a literary anthropology approach. Data acquisition was carried out through repeated readings and thematic analysis of the characters, narrative, and dialogue in the novel "Sayat-Sayat Sunyi."The results of the study on local wisdom in the novel "Sayat-Sayat Sunyi" by S. Gegge Mappangewa are as follows: (1) Forms of local wisdom include the human equipment system encompassing traditional dwellings, productive tools or tools to meet needs, traditional clothing, and traditional lighting. The livelihood system includes farmers, traders, and "sanro wanua" (village healers). The community and organizational system encompasses kinship systems and certain social groups. The arts include Bugis poetry and "lambaru" (traditional dance or music). The knowledge system includes knowledge related to the flora and fauna. The religious system includes beliefs in God and religious rituals. Language includes the use of honorifics like "daeng" and "ambo." (2) The values of local wisdom include cultural values encompassing customs or traditions. Social values include mutual cooperation, helping each other, and care. Religious values include beliefs or traditions in conducting activities during certain months in the Hijri calendar and customs or traditions related to the Hajj pilgrimage among the Bugis community.

Abstract

This study examines the icons, indexes, symbols of a tradition and aims to describe the symbolic form and reveal the symbolic meaning contained in the a’barumbung tradition in the Makassar traditional wedding procession in Pallangga Village, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method using Charles Sander Pierce's semiotic analysis. The data for this study are in the form of icons, indexes, symbols contained in the a’barumbung tradition during the Makassar traditional wedding procession in Pallangga District, Gowa Regency, especially in Pallangga Village. The data source for this study is the a’barumbung procession and anrong bunting who have extensive knowledge about a’barumbung or the bride and groom who have performed a’barumbung. The data collection techniques used in this study are direct observation, interview techniques, and documentation techniques.The results of the research show that the icons in the a'barumbung procession are: 1) Leko' (leaf) means hope, the index in the a'barumbung procession: 2) A'barumbung (steam bath) means maintaining purity and cleansing, 3) Diromo' (wrapped) means purifying, protecting, making happy, the symbols in the a'barumbung process: 4) Uring (pan) means listening to advice, 5) Je'ne (water) means the source of human life, 6) Kadera (chair) means broad-minded, 7) Berasa' (rice) means developing well, 8) taibani (candle) means a lamp to provide light for life, 9) Golla eja (brown sugar) means giving happiness, 10) Kaluku (coconut) means a harmonious life, 11) Tappere' (mat) means mutual respect, 12) Lipa' bate' (batik sarong) means persistence, 13) Salimu' (blanket) means selfesteem, 14) Javanese Kanre (cake) means human nature.

Abstract

Diagnostic assessment plays a key role in the Kurikulum Merdeka by helping educators understand the individual needs of students and design effective learning experiences. When implemented properly, it can be a powerful tool in ensuring that every student receives the necessary support to maximize their learning potential. This study aims to describe the forms, implementation, and challenges of conducting diagnostic assessments in Indonesian language learning under the Kurikulum Merdeka at SMP Aisyiyah Boarding School Pinrang. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, the study reveals that cognitive diagnostic assessments in seventh-grade classes are conducted through initial assessments, while non-cognitive diagnostic assessments use questionnaires. The implementation of diagnostic assessments has been carried out well, with teachers following teaching modules, although not yet optimally. Several challenges hinder effective application, including students' fluctuating moods, lack of interest in the subject matter, time constraints, and large class sizes. These factors make the assessment process more complex, both technically and psychologically, affecting the quality of results and the effectiveness of learning.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative study aims to (1) identify the obstacles experienced by students on learning critical reading skills based on contextual approaches. (2) Assessing student perceptions of learning critical reading skills based on contextual approaches. The data in this study are descriptive data related to students' perceptions and obstacles in learning critical reading skills based on a contextual approach. The data sources for this study were class D students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Makassar State University, intake 2021. Data collection techniques used included questionnaires and document analysis. The results of this study showed, (1) student barriers to adclose excess information, complex technical terms, lack of references and examples, long texts, as well as internal and external disorders that affect concentration. (2) Student perception involves understanding, analysis, evaluation of information in depth, and the application of theory in a real context to improve the ability to think critically. Students face various obstacles in learning critical reading skills based on contextual approaches, but they still have a positive perception because the learning encourages understanding, analysis, evaluation, and application of theory in a real context to develop critical thinking skills.
