Journal Studies in Indonesian Language and Literature memprioritaskan penelitian yang baru dan penting untuk kemajuan pengetahuan di salah satu bidang yang diterbitkan. Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive study which aims to describe the skills of writing conversational texts in the Bugis language of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Soppeng. The population in this study was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Soppeng, totaling 101 students divided into four classes. The sample determined was 60 students from four classes using proportional random sampling technique. The research data was obtained by giving a conversation writing test. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive statistical techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, there were 58 samples that got a score of ≥75 with a percentage of 97%, while there were 2 samples that got a score of <75 with a percentage of 3%. It can be concluded that class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Soppeng are categorized as skilled in writing Bugis language conversational texts, seen from the percentage of students who obtained a score of ≥75 as many as 58 people with a percentage (97%) in the skilled category achieving the criteria for completing the set learning objectives, namely 75% got a score of 75.

Abstract

This study analyzes illocutionary speech acts in the film "Anak Karaeng" by Amin D.B., focusing on how the dialogues reflect and preserve Makassar cultural values, especially the kekaraengang customs. The research method involves direct observation of the film and literature review on pragmatics and Makassar culture, with data analyzed through reduction, presentation, and triangulation for validation. Results show five types of illocutionary acts: directive, expressive, commissive, representative, and declarative, dominated by directive and expressive acts that enrich the storyline and character interactions while reflecting cultural values and social dynamics of Makassar society. The study highlights the film’s role as a medium for cultural preservation and differs from others by using the Makassar regional language, offering deep insights into the role of language in strengthening kekaraengang traditions and local cultural identity.

Abstract

"Representation of Moral Values Contained in the Film Kabayarammi Cinnaku karya Prof. Dr. Hj. Kembong Daeng, M.Hum”. Thesis, Department of Indonesian Language and Literature, Faculty of Language and Literature, Makassar State University. Supervised by Hajrah and Andi Fatimah Yunus.In this study, the researcher took the film Kabayarammi Cinnakku by Prof. Hj.Kembong Daeng, M.Hum. as the subject of the study. The purpose of this study is to describe the moral values contained in the film Kabayarammi Cinnaku by Prof. Dr. Hj. Kembong Daeng, M.Hum., using the theory of moral values, in the study using observation techniques and document studies. This type of research is qualitative research. The purpose of this qualitative research is to obtain information about the state of the existing research object. The results of this research show that there is a representation of moral values contained in the film Kabayarammi Cinnaku by Prof. Dr. Hj. Kembong Daeng, M. Hum. namely the moral values contained in the relationship between humans and themselves, namely never giving up, responsibility and perseverance, the moral values contained in the relationships between humans and fellow humans, including helping each other and respecting each other, and the moral values contained in the relationship between humans and God include gratitude, prayer, trust, patience and honesty.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study aiming to reveal the power structure within the social conflicts depicted in the film Badik Titipan Ayah directed by Dedi Setiadi. The approach used is Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis, which views language as a social practice that reflects power relations. Data were obtained through content analysis of the film’s dialogues that illustrate forms of dominance and social control. The results show that power is represented through characters such as Karaeng Tiro, who imposes his will on family members, and through social pressure directed at those who resist social and traditional norms. Language functions as a tool of control, affirmation of social status, and construction of identity. These findings confirm that the social conflicts portrayed in the film are inseparable from the power structures operating through discourse.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of code switching and code mixing of Makassar and Indonesian languages on Facebook social media and the factors causing it. The research method in this study is a qualitative research method. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses or sentences containing elements of code switching and code mixing as well as the factors causing code switching and code mixing of Makassar and Indonesian languages in Facebook social media posts. The data source in this study is the upload of Facebook user accounts containing elements of code switching and code mixing of Makassarese and Indonesian languages. The data collection techniques in this study are documentation techniques and reading techniques. The results of this study indicate that the form of code switching in Facebook social media posts occurs between sentences, within sentences, and symbolic code switching. The form of code mixing is the insertion of elements in the form of words and the insertion of elements in the form of phrases. The factors causing code switching and code mixing are quoting other people, emphasizing something, the background of the speaker's attitude, and the linguistic background.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to write descriptive texts in Makassar language using environmental media for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Polongbangkeng Utara, Takalar Regency. This study is a quantitative descriptive study. The research variable is the ability to write descriptive texts. The population in this study were 235 class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Polongbangkeng Utara, Takalar Regency. The results showed that the results of the student assessment who obtained a KKM (Minimum Completion Criteria) score of 75-100 were 2 people with a percentage of 7% and did not reach the set criteria, which was 75%. While students who achieved scores below the KKM (Minimum Completion Criteria) 0-74 were 28 people with a percentage of 93%. This can be seen in the ability to write descriptive texts in Makassar language using environmental media for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Polongbangkeng Utara, Takalar Regency are in the category of unable.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis cerita pengalaman dalam bahasa Makassar siswa Kelas V SD Inpres Jipang Kabupaten Gowa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Variabel penelitian yaitu kemampuan menulis cerita pengalaman dalam bahasa Makassar Siswa Kelas V Sd Inpres Jipang Kabupaten Gowa. populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Inpres Jipang Kabupaten gowa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik tes tertulis. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis cerita pengalaman dalam bahasa Makassar Siswa Kelas V Sd Inpres Jipang Kabupaten Gowa masih belum menguasai membedakan antara huruf kapital dan huruf kecil pada awal kalimat dan pertengahan kalimat. Dari 21 siswa yang hanya benar 10% yang mampu, dan 90% dikatakan belum mampu pada Siswa Kelas V SD Inpres Jipang Kabupaten Gowa. Dan ini menunjukkan bahwa Kemampuan Menulis Cerita Pengalaman dalam Bahasa Makassar Siswa Kelas V Sd Inpres Jipang Kabupaten Gowa dapat dinyatakan masih belum mampu.

Abstract

Nilai Budaya dalam Tradisi Sampulo Anruwa pada Masyarakat di Kelurahan Garassi Kecamatan Tinggimoncong Kabupaten Gowa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai budaya yang ada dalam tradisi Sampulo Anruwa pada masyarakat di Kelurahan Garassi Kecamatan Tinggimoncong Kabupaten Gowa dengan menggunakan teori nilai budaya yang dikemukakan oleh Steward Djamaris. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kulaitatif, yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai kondisi objek penelitian yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi Sampulo Anruwa tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana untuk memperkuat ikatan sosial antar anggota masyarakat, tetapi juga sebagai media untuk mengekspresikan identitas budaya yang kaya. Dalam pelaksanaannya terdapat nilai nilai budaya seperti, ketakwaan, suka berdoa, berserah diri kepada kekuasaan Tuhan, gotong royong, tolong-menolong, musyawarah, kerukunan, penyatuan dan pemanfaatan daya alam. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pemahaman lebih lanjut mengenai kekayaan budaya, serta pentingnya pelestarian tradisi dalam menghadapi tantangan modernisasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan media cerita bergambar dalam pembelajaran membaca nyaring bahasa Makassar pada siswa kelas III UPT SDN 13 Bontoramba, Kabupaten Jeneponto. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan membaca nyaring siswa, ditandai dengan kurangnya intonasi, mimik, dan ketepatan pelafalan saat membaca. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 23 siswa dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes membaca nyaring yang mencakup pelafalan, intonasi, tanda baca, dan ekspresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar 71,7 dengan ketuntasan 47%, meningkat menjadi 81,56 pada posttest. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t menunjukkan thitung (14,35) > ttabel (9,70), sehingga H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Dengan demikian, media cerita bergambar terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca nyaring bahasa Makassar siswa kelas III.

Abstract

Masalah utama yang diangkat adalah rendahnya kemampuan berbicara bahasa Makassar siswa kelas V. Sebagai solusi, diterapkan metode bermain peran dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan metode bermain peran terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen. Hasil analisis pretest menunjukkan rata-rata nilai 54,4 dengan tingkat ketuntasan 13%, sedangkan hasil analisis posttest meningkat menjadi rata-rata 86,93 dengan ketuntasan 85,33%. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t menghasilkan nilai t hitung sebesar 3,46 dan t tabel sebesar 0,678. Karena t hitung > t tabel, maka H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima, yang berarti penggunaan metode bermain peran secara signifikan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Makassar siswa kelas V UPT SDI Benteng No.62 Kepulauan Selayar.
