Journal Studies in Indonesian Language and Literature menerbitkan makalah penelitian di bidang pengajaran bahasa, sastra, dan linguistik. Journal Studies in Indonesian Language and Literature memprioritaskan penelitian yang baru dan penting untuk kemajuan pengetahuan di salah satu bidang yang diterbitkan. Jurnal ini menerima naskah dari seluruh dunia dan juga dari Indonesia. Naskah yang diterbitkan meliputi: Linguistik: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, psikolinguistik, sosiolinguistik, dan analisis wacana kritis. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to write narrative essay in Bugis language of students of class XI of SMAN 1 Pangkajene. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMAN 1 Pangkajene which amounted to 344 people with 10 classes. The sample set is class XI. Good as many as 36 students using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used is the test technique, namely the test. The data collected will be analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results showed that the ability to write narrative essays in Bugis language of students of class XI of SMAN 1 Pangkajene was declared incapable. It can be seen from the percentage of students who scored ≥ 75 in the able category did not reach the set criteria of 75%. Instead, it only amounted to 36%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was conducted to describe the ability of reading skills of dyslexiwc students at Makassar Mulya Junior High School. The results showed that dyslexic students at Makassar Mulya Junior High School are included in the severe dyslexia level because students have difficulty in understanding all forms of words, especially words containing similar letters, students have very little focus in following the learning process, students cannot interact well, students' brain work is very slow, and seen from the age of students who have entered 16 years. This happens because of the slow awareness of parents so that the handling of students is slow. Therefore, the student has reached the severity of the severe category. Severe dyslexia must certainly be handled specifically in the learning process and get full support around it.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Describe the form of expressive speech meaning contained in Bunda Corla's video on TikTok social media account, 2) Describe the function of expressive speech meaning contained in Bunda Corla's video on TikTok social media account. This type of research is qualitative by using descriptive method. Data collection in December 2023. The instrument in this research is the key instrument. The data collection technique in this study uses the note method and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this research are data reduction, data categorisation and conclusion drawing. The result of this research proves that overall from 11 data, there are 2 data of direct literal speech act form, 2 data of direct non-literal speech act form, and 2 data of indirect literal speech act. The functions of expressive speech acts are the function of praising 2 data, the function of welcoming 1 data, and the function of agreeing 2 data.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to write rupama of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Mangarabombang, Takalar Regency. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of quantitative descriptive. The variable of this research is the ability to write rupama. The population in this study were all VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Mangarabombang Takalar Regency, totalling 10 class groups. Meanwhile, the sample determined in this study were students of class VIII.A SMP Negeri 1 Mangarabombang Takalar Regency totalling 34 people, using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used is the written test technique. The data collected will be analysed using descriptive statistical techniques.The results showed that the ability to write rupama of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Mangarabombang Takalar Regency was declared incapable. This can be seen in the percentage of students who scored ≥ 75 in the able category did not reach the set criteria of 75%, but only 61.8%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the cultural value of sirik na pacce in the movie Anak Karaeng by Yus Amin Db using the theory according to Abu Hamid in this study using observation techniques and document studies. The results of this study indicate that (1) the form of sirik in the movie Anak Karaeng by Yus Amin Db there are three categories of sirik, namely, first sirik pakasirik is sirik related to personal self-esteem, as well as self-esteem or family dignity. The second sirik mappakasirik sirik is a type of sirik related to work ethic. The third sirik tappela' sirik is a person's sense of shame that is lost "disturbed" because of something. (2) The form of pacce in the movie Anak Karaeng by Yus Amin Db based on the cause of the emergence of feelings or encouragement consists of two, namely, the first feeling of pacce because of seeing family or other people affected by disaster. Secondly, feelings of pacce like this sometimes encourage us to provide assistance to that person. The cultural value of sirik na pacce in the movie Anak Karaeng by Yus Amin Db describes the buildings and patterns of life that want to be organized as a custom and culture that provides moral messages. Based on several scane words, sentences, diaglogues that contain the meaning of sirik na pacce that want to be poured and placed in accordance with the attitude in society.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the skills of writing conversational texts using image media in class X students of SMA Negeri 6 Jenepnto Regency. This research is a quantitative descriptive research design. The population of this research is the design of this study, namely all students of class X SMA Negeri 6 Jeneponto Regency totaling 360 people which are divided into 10 classes. The samples in this study were representatives of class X, namely class X Mipa 3 students of SMA Negeri 6 Jeneponto Regency, totaling 36 students. The sampling used in this study is a random sampling technique. The technique used to collect data in this research is a test technique. The results showed that the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Jeneponto Regency had not achieved the planned achievement standard of 75% with minimum completeness criteria (75 KKM). Based on the criteria for assessing the overall ability level of students is at a good level . this can be seen from the results of the assessment, it turns out that students who get the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) are 20 students with a percentage of 55.5% and those who get a score below the KKM are 16 students with a percentage of 44.5%. In accordance with the results of this study, it was suggested that learning local languages ​​should continue to be held because it is one of Indonesia's cultural treasures that must be preserved and preserved. In addition, regional language learning is given more attention and explained in more detail so that students understand better, especially learning about writing in the Makassar language.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the form of accentuation fallacy, the form of amphibole fallacy, the form of amphibole fallacy , The form of metaphorical fallacy. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The focus in this research is the form of accentuation, amphibole, equivocation and metaphorical errors. The data collection technique in this research was carried out in three stages, namely; observation, documentation, and reading and taking notes. The research instrument used in this research is a researcher who acts as a human instrument. The results of this research show that the form of accentuation error in this research is in the form of words. The form of amphibious error is in the form of words and sentences. The form of equivocation fallacy is in the form of words. Metaphorical fallacy takes the form of words and phrases.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the form and function of expressive speech acts in conversations among teenagers in Kalabbirang sub-district, Takalar district. The aim of this research is to determine and describe the form and function of expressive speech acts in conversations among teenagers in Kalabbirang sub-district, Takalar district. It is hoped that this research can become a very important reference and increase insight in the context of improving regional language learning, especially pragmatics in determining the form and function of speech acts. The data source in this research is conversations among teenagers in Kalabbirang Village, Takalar Regency. The method used in this research is the listening method, this method describes the forms and functions contained in conversations among teenagers in Kalabbirang Village, Takalar Regency. Based on research conducted, 6 forms and functions were found in conversations among teenagers in the Kalabbirang subdistrict, Takalar district, which included saying thank you, congratulating, apologizing, blaming, praising and sarcasm.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the ability to write Bugis language procedural texts using series of picture media for class VII students at SMPN 1 Pinrang. This research is descriptive quantitative in nature and the technique used to collect data in this research is the written test technique. The results of the research show that the majority of students (78%) are in the incapable category in writing Bugis language procedural texts using serial image media. This is based on the distribution of grades which shows that only 22% of students scored between 75-100.  This is proven by the students' scores from the four aspects of the assessment, namely objectives, steps and reaffirmation. The obstacles faced by students in writing Bugis language procedural texts include poor understanding of procedural texts, limitations in mastering Bugis language vocabulary, as well as difficulties in applying them. Bugis grammar even though explanations and examples have been given. Therefore, more intensive practice is needed in writing Bugis language procedure texts to improve students' understanding of these texts, enrich their Bugis language vocabulary, and improve their use of Bugis language grammar.

Abstract

The aim of this thesis research is to reveal the problems faced by teachers in learning local content of the Bugis language as well as the problems experienced by class X students in learning the Bugis language at SMA Negeri 7 Enrekang. This research is qualitative in nature and uses data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis process involves three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing temporary conclusions. The results of the research show that the problems of Bugis language learning faced by teachers include: (1) difficulties in creating learning tools, (2) difficulties in designing Participant Worksheets Didik (LKPD), (3) difficulties in teaching Bugis language and Lontara script, (4) difficulties in mastering teaching materials that are different from everyday language, and (5) difficulties in carrying out evaluations. The learning problems faced by students include: (1) difficulties in understanding Bugis language learning, (2) slowness in understanding lesson material, (3) lack of guidance from teachers, and (4) lack of supporting facilities such as textbooks. The solution to the problem above is to add supporting facilities for regional language learning as an effort to improve the quality of learning.
