Abstract

This study aims to examine the introduction of nature exploration activities through a deep learning approach in enhancing children's creativity at TK Aisyiyah 3. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method involving teachers and early childhood learners as participants. The learning intervention is designed through experiential and meaningful activities, where children directly interact with natural environments to stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and creative expression. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of learning processes and children's work. The findings indicate that the implementation of deep learning-based nature exploration activities significantly improves children's creativity, as reflected in their ability to generate ideas, solve simple problems, and express themselves through various forms of activities. Among the indicators of creativity, initiative and originality emerged as the most prominent improvements, as children increasingly demonstrated spontaneous participation in activities, proposed unique ideas, and explored natural objects in diverse and imaginative ways. Furthermore, children demonstrate higher engagement, enthusiasm, and independence during the learning process. This study suggests that integrating nature exploration with a deep learning approach can create meaningful learning experiences and effectively foster creativity in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of student engagement and the suboptimal development of naturalistic intelligence in science education in elementary schools, which is still dominated by conventional methods. This study aims to describe the creativity of teachers in implementing game-based learning methods as an effort to foster students' naturalistic intelligence at SDN Kamunti. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data sources included teachers, principals, and students, as well as relevant learning documents. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis techniques involved the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that teachers creatively developed learning through game-based activities, such as environmental exploration, mini-experiments, outdoor exploration games, the use of recycled materials, and role-playing based on local projects. Observational data showed that students actively observed, classified, and interacted directly with natural objects. Interview results revealed that teachers deliberately designed lessons so that students could learn through games and direct experiences. Field notes confirmed the findings that students showed high enthusiasm, collaborated in groups, and were able to explain their observations in their own words. Thus, the implementation of play-based learning has been proven effective in creating meaningful learning experiences, increasing student engagement, and optimally fostering naturalistic intelligence.

Abstract

The digital age has brought fundamental changes to the educational landscape; however, it has also given rise to the phenomenon of digital distraction, which has a serious impact on the quality of student learning. Uncontrolled smartphone use, social media addiction, and dependence on short-form digital content have been shown to reduce students’ concentration, motivation to learn, and psychological well-being. Amid these challenges, Islamic Educational Psychology offers a holistic conceptual framework for understanding and addressing these issues. This study aims to examine learning concepts from the perspective of Islamic Educational Psychology as a response to the increasingly widespread digital distractions. The method employed is library research using a content analysis approach on literature sources, comprising international and national articles. The findings indicate that the concepts of fitrah, self-control, and Islamic epistemology provide a solid foundation for developing learning strategies resilient to digital distractions. Islamic Educational Psychology is not merely reactive but offers preventive solutions grounded in spiritual and moral values. This study contributes to the development of contemporary Islamic educational theory that is adaptive to the challenges of the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop an audio-based vocal learning medium in the slendro tuning system for visually impaired elementary school students in the form of the Eduvocal “Nderes” e-book. The development of this medium was motivated by the limited availability of accessible karawitan learning media for visually impaired learners, particularly in traditional Javanese vocal instruction. The product was designed by considering auditory learning needs through tiered vocal materials, audio instructions, repetitive exercises (nderes), and compatibility with screen-reader technology. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Borg and Gall development model, which includes stages of needs analysis, product design, expert validation, product revision, and limited product trials. The needs analysis was conducted through questionnaires distributed to 16 respondents consisting of visually impaired individuals, parents, teachers, karawitan practitioners, and peers. Product validation involved media experts, karawitan experts, and special education experts specializing in visual impairment. The validation results showed a feasibility score of 93.21%, categorized as highly feasible. Furthermore, limited product trials involving six respondents obtained a score of 86.3%, categorized as very good. The findings indicate that the Eduvocal “Nderes” e-book prototype is appropriate for use as an accessible vocal learning medium for visually impaired students at the elementary school level. This study contributes to the development of inclusive digital learning media while supporting the preservation of traditional Javanese musical culture for learners with visual impairments.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has profoundly transformed education in the twenty-first century. Nevertheless, modern learning approaches have increasingly been criticized for placing excessive emphasis on technical competencies while overlooking spiritual and moral dimensions. In contrast, Qur’anic learning promotes strong character values and spiritual purification, yet its integration with technological innovation within educational research remains limited and insufficiently systematic. This study aims to examine publication trends, thematic structures, and patterns of scientific collaboration in research on modern and Qur’anic learning during the 2016–2025 period. A bibliometric approach was employed using 136 articles retrieved from the Scopus database. The data were analyzed using R Biblioshiny to generate descriptive, conceptual, and structural mappings. The findings reveal an annual publication growth rate of 45.37%, with an average of 4.603 citations per document. The most frequently occurring keywords in the literature were “e-learning,” “Islamic education,” and “online learning.” Indonesia and Malaysia emerged as the leading contributors to scientific publications, while Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga was identified as the most productive institutional affiliation. The thematic mapping analysis classified “e-learning” as a motor theme, indicating its central role in driving research development within this field. The study concludes that although research productivity expanded substantially following the COVID-19 pandemic, the conceptual integration between modern pedagogy and Qur’anic spiritual values remains fragmented and is still in the consolidation phase. Future studies should strengthen theoretical integration, broaden international research collaboration, and develop integrative learning models capable of balancing global competencies with spiritual maturity grounded in Qur’anic values.

Abstract

This study aims to map the development of research on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Islamic Religious Education through bibliometric analysis using R Biblioshiny. The data were obtained from the Scopus database covering the 2015–2025 period and were selected using the PRISMA flow, resulting in 28 relevant articles. The analysis focused on publication productivity, citations, authors, institutional affiliations, keywords, and research collaboration networks. The findings indicate that publications on HOTS in Islamic Religious Education increased significantly, particularly during the 2021–2025 period, reflecting growing academic attention toward the development of higher-order thinking skills in Islamic education learning. Affiliation mapping revealed the dominance of universities in Malaysia and Indonesia as the main centers of HOTS research development. Keyword analysis showed that the studies mainly focused on active learning strategies, curriculum strengthening, and HOTS-based assessment. However, this study has several limitations, including the limited number of articles, the use of a single database, the absence of thematic map analysis, and limitations in the search keywords. Therefore, future studies are recommended to expand data sources and develop more comprehensive bibliometric analyses to provide broader and deeper insights into HOTS research in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study examines the negotiation of religious moderation within the digital culture of students at SMAN 21 Palembang. The presence of social media, WhatsApp groups, memes, and other forms of digital communication has created new social spaces that influence students’ religious attitudes and identity formation in multicultural schools. This study aims to analyze the process of negotiating students’ religious identities in the school’s digital space as well as the school’s strategies for strengthening religious moderation amidst majority-minority relations. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving 12 informants comprising the school principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, Christian Religious Education teachers, student organization advisors, Muslim students, and non-Muslim minority students. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the school’s digital space functions not only as a communication medium but also as an arena for identity negotiation, symbolic struggle, and the reproduction of religious narratives among students. Memes, stickers, and social media interactions serve as forms of religious expression that can strengthen group solidarity while simultaneously creating the potential for exclusion of minority groups. Nevertheless, the school strives to foster an inclusive culture through dialogic interactions, multicultural activities, and the internalization of religious moderation values in both formal and informal contexts. This study concludes that religious moderation in schools is shaped through a dynamic process of social negotiation within students’ digital culture. This research contributes to the development of studies on digital religious moderation and multicultural education in Indonesian public schools.
