Abstract

This community engagement program aimed to strengthen health resilience among women in Sukabumi by enhancing their understanding of hypertension and diabetes, while also building practical skills in preparing local herbal beverages and natural handwash products. A total of twenty-five PKK members from Karangtengah Village participated in structured educational sessions delivered by medical lecturers, baseline screening of blood pressure and blood glucose levels, and hands-on training utilizing locally available resources. Participants’ knowledge was assessed using matched pre- and post-tests, while behavioural adoption was evaluated through post-intervention self-reports. The screening results revealed that a substantial proportion of participants exhibited elevated blood pressure and/or blood glucose levels, highlighting the relevance and urgency of the program. Significant improvements in knowledge were observed across all assessed domains, including risk factors, early symptoms, preventive lifestyle practices, and recognition of locally available herbal ingredients. All knowledge gains were statistically significant, indicating effective health information transfer. The practical training component further enhanced participants’ confidence and self-efficacy, as reflected by a high intention to adopt the recommended practices in daily life. Overall, the program demonstrated that community-based, participatory health education combined with culturally appropriate practical training can effectively enhance health knowledge, support positive behavioural change, and promote sustainable household health practices in rural communities.

Abstract

This study examines how Lampung’s local product; banana chips can strengthen regional identity through global service interactions, using a community engagement activity conducted at Baiwang Company, Beijing, China, as a case study. As global markets increasingly value authenticity and culturally embedded products, this initiative explores the role of service encounters, product storytelling, and cross-cultural exchange in promoting local commodities at the international level. Using a qualitative descriptive approach supported by presentations, sensory testing, field observation, and stakeholder discussions, the study identifies key factors influencing the global acceptance of Lampung banana chips, including product quality, packaging durability, certification readiness, and cultural branding. The results show that Baiwang staff responded positively to the taste, uniqueness, and cultural narrative of the product, while also providing valuable insights into market preferences and regulatory requirements in China. The engagement demonstrates that service-based interactions significantly enhance product visibility and create pathways for international collaboration, including trial export opportunities and co-branded promotional activities. The findings conclude that strengthening local product identity in global markets requires integrated efforts among MSME actors, academic institutions, and international partners. This study contributes to broader discussions on global service trails, regional branding, and the internationalization of Indonesian MSMEs, positioning Lampung as a culturally distinctive region within the global supply chain.

Abstract

Tapis Lampung is a cultural heritage textile that carries significant historical, aesthetic, and philosophical value and holds strong potential for development within the global creative industry. However, existing studies have largely focused on the symbolic, artistic, and preservation aspects of Tapis Lampung, with limited empirical attention given to its introduction in international professional or corporate settings and its role in fostering cross-cultural understanding. Addressing this gap, this study aims to introduce Tapis Lampung to an international audience and examine its impact on cross-cultural engagement through a presentation conducted during the Global Accounting Issues Seminar at Baiwang Co., Ltd., China. The method employed involved an interactive presentation that combined visual materials, cultural narratives, and direct examination of authentic Tapis fabrics. The results indicate that participants demonstrated increased cultural awareness and appreciation of Lampung’s values, particularly regarding the symbolic meanings and craftsmanship embedded in Tapis. These findings support existing literature asserting that traditional crafts can achieve global relevance when supported by cultural storytelling and strategic presentation. Furthermore, the activity contributed to Indonesia’s cultural diplomacy by facilitating cross-cultural dialogue and generating interest in potential international collaboration within cultural initiatives and creative economy development. Overall, this study highlights the effectiveness of narrative–visual approaches in promoting traditional cultural products globally and reinforces the positioning of Tapis Lampung as a competitive cultural and economic asset in international contexts.

Field findings show that most of the business partners who submitted are fast food culinary businesses dominated by women with the aim of financing capital for the purchase of equipment and business needs. Business capacity building is carried out by regularly monitoring capital use, facilitating halal certification, creating NIBs, and curating MSME products as well as digital marketing training through marketing through social media and creating banner designs, logos, Qris, Maps. In addition, business partners are involved in activities such as bazaars as a form of cross-sector collaboration in local government activities. The existence of partner capital financing not only obtains business capital but also increases the independence and skills of partners. Thus, the primary impact felt by business partners is increased productivity, in terms of turnover, competitiveness, and welfare. Collaboration across sectors, stakeholders, and policymakers can encourage optimal financing and sustainability for MSMEs.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to strengthen the managerial capacity of the Employee Cooperative of PT. Pusri Palembang through training and mentoring in the preparation of a Business Plan and Budget (Rencana Bisnis dan Anggaran – RBA) based on financial statement analysis. This activity represents a continuation of community service programs conducted in Phases I–VI (2019–2024), which focused on strengthening the cooperative’s accounting information system and improving the interpretation of financial statements. The main problems faced by the cooperative include the absence of a comprehensive RBA, the suboptimal use of historical financial statements as a basis for planning, and limited formulation of targets and performance indicators for each business unit. Through intensive workshops, the development of a Digital Spreadsheet Analysis Template for RBA, and technical mentoring for all business units, the program succeeded in increasing participants’ understanding by 78%, based on post-test results. The program produced several strategic outputs, including the cooperative’s annual RBA document, an interactive RBA template integrated with the cooperative’s accounting information system, and a draft scientific publication. The mentoring activities demonstrate that cooperative managers are now able to independently prepare financial projections, set revenue and cost targets, conduct scenario analysis, and develop business plans for each operational unit. Furthermore, the program has encouraged the development of a data-driven decision-making culture and strengthened cooperative governance, enabling the cooperative to progress toward becoming a modern, professional, accountable, and sustainable business entity.
