Abstract

Character education has become increasingly crucial in facing the complexity of challenges in the 21st century. Education serves as one of the fundamental pillars in shaping individual character and personality. Amidst the growing religious and cultural pluralism, values-based education becomes more relevant in cultivating a generation with global awareness and inclusive attitudes. The purpose of this research is to delve into the implementation of Living Values Education (LVE) approach that integrates character values with the principles of religious moderationtn the Madania educational environment. This study uses a type of qualitative research method with a case study approach. The findings indicate that Madania School adopts the Living Values Education (LVE) approach by integrating an understanding of religious moderation to create an inclusive, multicultural learning environment that focuses on character development. This approach engages educators as role models in applying character values and encourages students to internalize these values through various daily activities and interactions.

Abstract

Integration of science and religion means combining science and religion. However, it does not completely mix them because they have their own characteristics. The integration of science and religion is a very possible thing in Islamic paradigm because it is based on the concept of tauhid. It is necessary for science and religion to emerge the awareness of holistic and comprehensive concept in education. By integrating science and religion especially in Islamic education system, the students will be motivated to conduct a scientific research by linking it to religion. Moreover, it will also encourage the teachers to be more creative in teaching the students and educate the school participants to respect other religions as well.

Abstract

Globalization is shown by the development in science and technology which brings great effects including the positive and negative one. One of the negative effects of globalization is the emergence of consumerism, hedonism, and secularism which causes moral decadence of the nations. The worse condition of this condition can be seen from the bad attitude and behavior of the students. Therefore, Islamic education which has main role in constructing moral of the students should be rearranged to solve this problem. This condition shows the importance of revitalizing the strategy of Islamic education in minimizing moral decadence of the nations.

Abstract

Recently, the rate of young marriages in Indonesia is getting higher. It is necessary to have some efforts in restraining it such as delivering an informal education through madrasah diniyah. The aim of this study is to find out the role of Madrasah Diniyah Miftahul Hidayah in restraining the rate of young marriages and prostitution in a village of Bandar district, Batang regency, Central Java. By using case study approach, the research came to three conclusions. First, Madrasah Diniyah Miftahul Hidayah is an informal educational institution which tries to anticipate young marriage and prevent prostitution. Second, one of the efforts done in restraining them is by changing the curriculum, the teachers’ and students’ mindset as well. Finally, the obstructions faced in restraining them is the strong opinion of the society that the more girls get married earlier, more prestigious she is.

Abstract

Sufi educational institutions such as ribat, khanqah and zawiyah are one of a long series of Islamic educational institution development. The emergence of those institutions is less popular than other Islamic educational institutions such as kuttab, masjid khan, madrasah, etc. However, ribat, khanqah, and zawiyah belong to outstanding educational institution at their age, so there are many positive things that can be learned from those institutions.Learning from other educational institutions does not always do the same way they did in the past, because a good educational institution is the one which can response the world challenge at the time being. Therefore, if it is impossible to imitate their educational system, at least we can learn and imitate their spirit in developing Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The background of this research is the same objective of Hamka’s concept relatedto modern tasawuf with the concept of Islamic education which aims to createqualified human being by balancing the physical and spiritual life. This study useslibrary research method through intellectual biography approach and content analysis in analyzing the data. Research result shows that according to Hamka, there are two main dimensions which appears from human beings; they are dimension of vertical submission to God and dimension of horizontal dialectic with the surrounding societies. Therefore, in order to realize the objective of Islamic education, it is necessary to provide Islamic learning material which can develop students’ potential in expressing their competence.

Abstract

Children are great imitators who always imitate people around them. As they are precious gifts from God, it is an obligation to look after and educate them in a proper manner with Islamic values such as giving behavior education to the children. Abdullah Nashih Ulwan said that behavior education is very important for children. Educators, including parents and society, are responsible for developing it. The behavior education which should be developed includes three domains; they are physical education, intellectual education, and spiritual education as well.

Abstract

Recently, successful education is measured from the quantity of the students. It does not focus on the quality of education. There is even an Islamic school which does not apply the Islamic values in its management and curriculum at all. It shows that there is lack of awareness of the importance of character education. Then, what is the importance of character education? Character education is considered to be the effective way in overcoming teenage mischief and social deviation. If character educations containing Islamic values are included in the teaching and learning process, the students will be the next generation of leaders with strong character.

Abstract

Based on scientific treasure, motivation has an important role in encouraging students to reach their goals. Because of its importance in education, the writer wants to conduct a research about the concept of motivation in the treasure of classic books (kitab kuning) especially in al-Zarnuji’s book entitled Ta’lim alMuta’allim which describes about education in Islamic perspective. The research uses descriptive analysis method which describes and analyzes the content of the book. The analysis result brings to three conclusions. First, motivation is divided into two parts they are intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Second, environment, especially family environment, has a big role in motivating students to learn. Finally, the theory of motivation mentioned in Ta’lim al-Muta’allim discusses about extrinsic motivation only, while intrinsic motivation is the realization of extrinsic motivation.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the importance of deradicalization in Islamic Education. The research method used in this study is library research method in which the data were collected from various sources. The Research result shows that religious radicalsm is a serious problem whose solution should be found immediately. If it is ignored for a long time, it will bring negative impact and threaten the existence of NKRI. Nowadays, there is a great amount of religious violence that become “an achievement” in the caderization process done by Islamic radicals. Moreover, they have approached to any education levels, starting from secondary school level up to high school level. Therefore, it is necessary to have serious attempts in deradicalizing the Islamic Education taught to the students in order to prevent the growth of radicalization among various religions, languages, racial and ethnic groups.
