Abstract

This paper focuses on performance tests (performance tests) in the assessment of the Tahsin al-Qur'an certification exam using one rater in each assistance group. The assessment process that involves a rater on a performance test (performance test) has a great chance of giving birth to inconsistencies in giving rater assessments to different individuals with the same ability. This paper tries to solve this problem by developing instruments for two or more rater. This compilation process uses a quantitative analysis with generalizability theory approach and uses the help of the EduG version 6.1 program. This study shows that the examination of the tahsinul quran assessment instrument is said to be valid with aiken index value> 0.67 on each indicator. The reliability test on this instrument shows the reliability coefficient value> 0.80 for both limited and large sample trials. Based on these things, the assessment instrument of tahsinul quran can be said to be valid and reliable to measure the tahsin al-quran, and can minimize the subjectivity of the rater in making an assessment.

Abstract

This study explores how two animated series, Nussa Rara and Omar Hana, impart crucial lessons on diversity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. Triggered by the rising tensions between various ethnic groups and potential tribal conflicts within nations like Indonesia, this study analyzes how these films contribute to cultivating a sense of mutual respect and understanding. Using Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), the research examines how the films promote values such as tolerance and citizenship, including nationalism, respect for local cultures, and anti-violence attitudes. The purpose of this research is to explore how these animated series offer young learners tools to navigate cultural diversity, resolve conflicts peacefully, and appreciate their cultural heritage. By focusing on the characters’ interactions, the research highlights how these films model tolerance, cooperation, and empathy—values essential in reducing societal divisions. Through CDA, it identifies underlying messages in the scenes and dialogues that advocate for non-violent approaches to disputes, fostering unity in diversity. The results of the study reveal that Nussa Rara and Omar Hana present valuable educational insights for managing diversity and promoting tolerance. The films encourage children to respect differences, engage with various cultures, and reject violence. These values are introduced early, forming a foundation that complements formal civic education in schools. In conclusion, the films serve as a powerful medium for teaching pluralism, equipping children with essential skills to navigate a diverse world while promoting peace and unity.

Abstract

The presence of diverse religions, groups, and cultures in schools highlights the need for an inclusive Islamic learning model that actively instills values of tolerance. This study critically examines the implementation of Inclusive Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in two contrasting schools in Malang City: SMA Taman Harapan, characterized by interfaith diversity, and MAN 2 Malang, characterized by intra-Islamic diversity. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a multiple-case study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. Results indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers in both settings employ inclusive strategies—such as interactive dialogue, problem-based learning, contextual teaching, and project-based learning—that effectively foster mutual respect, enhance religious tolerance, and counteract radicalism among students. Ultimately, this research asserts that inclusive Islamic Religious Education is essential for strengthening tolerance and combating radicalism, presenting a viable model for humanistic and tolerant religious education in diverse school environments. The study substantially contributes empirical evidence by demonstrating the practical benefits of inclusive approaches in varying contexts, moving beyond normative claims to real-world educational impact.

Abstract

The issue of religious radicalism, both in opinion and action, remains a common challenge in Indonesia. This phenomenon is not only prevalent in society but also extends to educational institutions, including schools. Religious inclusivity is a key to understanding and overcoming this issue. This study aims to explore the level of religious inclusivity among students, teachers, and educational staff, as well as to document the implementation  of inclusivity principles in school activities and learning environments in red-zone schools, one of which is in Cirebon. The method employed is a mixed-methods approach involving 155 participants, including students, teachers, and educational staff. This approach combines a verified questionnaire, based on expert judgment, to obtain quantitative data, with observations, interviews, and documentation to collect qualitative data. The research findings indicate that these results can serve as a reference for mapping issues as an initial step in developing a school model that integrates religious inclusivity into every program and learning environment, thereby minimizing the potential for radicalism. The novelty of this research lies in the comprehensive mapping of the level of religious inclusivity in schools in red zones of radicalism, which has rarely been revealed before, while also offering a conceptual framework that can be adapted to the educational context in other areas prone to radicalism.

Abstract

This study highlights the urgency of developing the digital competence of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers through a fiqh-based approach oriented toward strengthening religious moderation, using a systematic literature review (SLR). The findings reveal that the integration of digital technologies in PAI learning faces several challenges, including limited training programs, the absence of valid evaluation instruments, low institutional readiness, and limited teacher motivation. The study emphasizes that digital competence is not merely a pedagogical necessity, but also an educational form of ijtihad that supports inclusive, adaptive, and non-extremist religious practices. Through the Technology Acceptance Model in Islamic Education, this study shows that religious perspectives play a dominant role in technology acceptance; therefore, digital literacy must be developed in alignment with fiqh principles such as maslahah and ijtihad as well as core values of religious moderation, particularly tawassuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance),and itidal (balanced judgment) in navigating digital information. Strengthening PAI teachers’ digital competence not only improves learning quality and student engagement, but also reinforces religious moderation within the Islamic education ecosystem in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential, strategies, and implications of anti-parricide education in Islamic Junior High Schools (MTs). Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design and the Miles and Huberman data analysis model, the study was conducted at MTs Hasyim Asy'ari Bawang, Batang, through 24-hour observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis such as syllabi, guidance and counseling modules, and student behavior records. The main findings indicate that the potential for parricide is triggered by three indicators: student aggressive behavior, untreated mental health disorders, and unstable or violent family environments. The school responded by integrating character values into the curriculum, strengthening guidance and counseling services, and creating a religious madrasa environment. This aligns with the teachings of Al-Ghazali's theory of moral education. However, challenges such as domestic violence, limited teacher competency, and the negative influence of social media hamper the effectiveness of these strategies. The theoretical contribution of this research lies in the development of a contextual anti-parricide education model based on madrasahs, while its practical contribution is in the form of policy recommendations for strengthening character education and early prevention systems involving synergy between schools, families, and communities.

Abstract

In recent years, the issue of religious moderation has become a central concern in national religious discourse, along with increasing social polarization and the spread of extremist ideologies that potentially threaten social cohesion. Mosques, as religious institutions deeply rooted in community life, possess significant potential to serve as agents in promoting wasathiyah (moderate) Islamic values. This study aims to explore the lived experiences, perceptions, and meaning-making processes of mosque stakeholders as they implement the Masjid Pelopor Moderasi Beragama (MPMB) program in Aceh to foster social and interreligious harmony. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological case study design, this research was conducted in three representative settings: Istiqamah Benuaraja Mosque in Aceh Tamiang, MAN 1 Mosque in Aceh Tenggara, and the Campus Mosque of UIN Ar-Raniry in Banda Aceh. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis to uncover the subjective experiences and contextual interpretations of imams, mosque administrators, educators, and community members. The findings reveal that each mosque developed contextual strategies grounded in its experiential understanding of local community dynamics. Participants emphasized community-based approaches rooted in local wisdom, the integration of moderate religious values into formal education, and the development of digital campus-based da'wah. Despite these efforts, challenges persist, including limited conceptual literacy about religious moderation, insufficient human resources and funding, the absence of standardized training modules, and weak monitoring and evaluation systems. Theoretically, this study contributes to expanding phenomenological insights into institutional religious practices within contemporary Islamic scholarship. In practice, the findings provide a grounded basis for developing policies and training curricula on religious moderation that are more systematic and responsive to the real experiences of mosque communities.

Abstract

Islamic manuscripts play a crucial role in preserving the intellectual and spiritual heritage of Muslim communities, including the symbolic and esoteric dimensions of Islamic education. However, studies on Syattariyah manuscripts in Java, especially those exploring symbolic visualization of ritual practices remain limited and tend to focus either on philological description or doctrinal transmission rather than interpretive meaning. This study aims to analyze the symbolic construction of the Perfect Prayer (Sholat Sempurna) within the Kaprabonan manuscript of Cirebon and explore its relevance to contemporary spiritual education. A qualitative research design was employed, using manuscript analysis, content analysis, and hermeneutic interpretation guided by Ernst Cassirer's philosophy of symbolic forms. The analysis demonstrates that each stage of the prayer corresponds to symbolic elements of the Ismullah (الله): standing aligns with Alif, bowing with the first Lam, prostration with the second Lam, and sitting with Ha. This structure forms a symbolic framework linking bodily movement, spiritual consciousness, and metaphysical unity with God. The findings indicate that this symbolic system functions not only as a ritual framework but also as a pedagogical model for cultivating spiritual awareness, ethical balance, and contemplative discipline. Furthermore, the symbolic interpretation of Sholat Sempurna reflects the balanced and inclusive values of Islamic moderation (wasathiyah), connecting spiritual depth with cultural wisdom and social harmony. This study contributes to current scholarship in Islamic education, Sufi studies, and religious symbolism by demonstrating how local manuscript traditions can inform contemporary discourse on spirituality, tolerance, and character formation.
