Abstract

Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam that plays an important role in improving community welfare and reducing economic inequality. This pre-service study aims to explore the potential of zakat in Central Java and the challenges faced in its management. Using a descriptive and qualitative approach, this study collects data from various literature sources to analyze the role of zakat in the socio-economic context. The method used is an in-depth literature review, focusing on the collection, assessment, and synthesis of information related to zakat. This pre-service study aims to provide a better understanding of the function of zakat in creating a fair and prosperous economy, as well as to identify the challenges faced in the distribution of zakat. The results show that the potential of zakat in Central Java is enormous, with an estimated value of Rp3.1 trillion per year. However, there are significant challenges, such as low public understanding of zakat, lack of transparency in management, and limited human resources. To overcome these challenges, strategies are needed to strengthen BAZNAS through education, digitalization, and the development of innovative economic empowerment programs. Thus, this pre-service program is expected to make a meaningful contribution to understanding and optimizing zakat management in Central Java, as well as encouraging community participation in fulfilling their zakat obligations for the common good

Abstract

Pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan keluarga dan peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa. Namun, pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan seringkali belum optimal karena keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat, khususnya perempuan. Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pemanfaatan pekarangan secara produktif. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa [Nama Desa], dengan metode observasi, pelatihan, pembuatan demplot, pendampingan intensif, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan partisipasi anggota KWT dalam menanam berbagai jenis tanaman pangan dan obat keluarga di pekarangan rumah masing-masing. Demplot yang dibangun berhasil menjadi pusat pembelajaran dan inspirasi bagi anggota lain. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif antara masyarakat dan perguruan tinggi mampu meningkatkan ketahanan pangan lokal serta mendorong kemandirian ekonomi keluarga. Keberhasilan program ini merekomendasikan pentingnya keberlanjutan kegiatan serupa dengan dukungan lintas sektor.

Abstract

The decreasing interest of the younger generation in agricultural activities poses a serious challenge for future sustainability. Integrating environmental education into early childhood learning is therefore essential. This community service activity aimed to introduce eco-friendly farming practices to preschoolers at TK ABA XVI, North Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency through a simple hydroponic system using recycled waste materials. The program involved interactive lectures, discussions, Q&A sessions, and hands-on hydroponic planting. Results showed an increase in students' knowledge about hydroponics and a growing awareness of the importance of recycling plastic waste to protect the environment. This initiative highlights the effectiveness of early intervention in cultivating environmental consciousness among young learners.

Abstract

The service of real work college (KKN) students aims to help solve social, economic, and cultural problems in the village or community, as well as provide real experience to students in community service. in realizing the development of village assets aims to realize a village that can advance to become a Silurah tourist village, by helping to build marketing management to become a famous tourist. The service method used by the implementation team used descriptive qualitative through thorough observation during community service. Data collection was carried out by interviewing the village administration, pokdarwis as a community group formed consciously and voluntarily with the a im of developing, managing, and promoting tourism potential in their area, and karangtaruna. Furthermore, a survey was conducted in the planning stage to explore the tourism potential of the village. The implementation of the work program was carried out to address the challenges and potential development of Silurah Village as a result of infrastructure and accessibility development, increasing tourist attractiveness, strengthening the capacity of human resources (HR), developing creative economic production, promoting and digitizing tourism, strengthening partnerships and collaboration.

Abstract

Kelurahan Banyurip is one of the administrative areas in South Pekalongan Sub-district, Pekalongan City, which is geographically located in a densely populated area and is one of the urban villages with a high level of domestic activity. In recent years, this area has experienced rapid residential growth. Dense household activities in this area directly contribute to the high production of household waste, especially waste from the kitchen. In response to this, researchers tried to conduct a socialization targeting PKK cadres with the aim of increasing the environmental literacy of Banyurip Village PKK cadres through socialization of kitchen waste utilization. This socialization activity uses the educatif empowerment method which emphasizes the delivery of information and knowledge in a structured manner in the form of lectures and discussions to the community. The results of the socialization activity on the utilization of kitchen waste in Banyurip Village show the enthusiasm and interest of the community in alternatives to the use of kitchen waste wisely and more environmentally friendly. The positive response from the community was marked by an increased awareness of the importance of utilizing kitchen waste wisely and in an environmentally friendly manner. The introduction of methods for processing organic waste into compost, eco-enzyme, and maggot cultivation not only provides new insights, but also opens up opportunities for the economic and ecological utilization of kitchen waste that was previously considered useless.

Abstract

Public speaking is an essential skill that students need to support their academic success and professional readiness in the future. This community service activity (PKM) aims to improve the communication skills of students of SMAN 63 Jakarta, especially in grades X and XI, through public speaking training based on participatory educational methods. The training was carried out in three main stages, namely the delivery of theoretical material, practical simulations, and feedback sessions. The results of the activity showed significant improvement in the aspects of self-confidence, ability to structure messages, and utilization of visual communication technology. The active participation of participants and the existence of reflective awareness are indicators of the success of the training. This activity also encouraged the formation of positive social interactions and collective values such as empathy and collaboration. With an approach that is contextual and relevant to the characteristics of Generation Z, this training proved effective in shaping integrated communication competencies. Therefore, public speaking training is recommended to be a routine school program integrated in student self-development and supported by continuous collaboration between schools and universities.

Abstract

This community empowerment research examines the use of Maggots as an alternative medium to reduce organic waste on a household scale in Winong Hamlet, Sendang District, Tulungagung Regency. Maggots were chosen as an alternative that the community can do because their cultivation is relatively easy. The purpose of this empowerment initiative is to optimize the use of organic waste in households, thereby reducing organic waste in the Winong Hamlet area while increasing its value. The SLA (Sustainable Livelihood Assessment) method is used to facilitate empowerment activities. This study employs social ecology theory to offer significant implications for environmental conservation efforts aimed at achieving ecological resilience. The results of this empowerment show that the community in Winong Hamlet can accept the understanding about reducing household waste. Maggots are an opportunity to reduce organic waste produced from each household, efficiency is felt for the community who cultivate maggots starting from poultry feed because of its high protein content, fish feed, and can fertilize the planting medium, however, the obstacle felt is the selection of land that is quite far from residents because it produces an unpleasant odor.

Abstract

Kelurahan Gamer merupakan perkampungan yang terletak di Kecamatan Pekalongan timur Kota Pekalongan. Wilayah ini merupakan penyangga kawasan pertanian/sawah produktif (sawah lestari) telah masuk dalam kategori salah satu wilayah Kota Pekalongan paling rentan terkena dampak perubahan iklim. Situasi ini menimbulkan persoalan sebagai berikut: (1) Kualitas lingkungan menurun, (2) Kesadaran dan wawasan masyarakat terkait upaya mitigasi terhadap perubahan iklim minim memperburuk kondisi lingkungan dan kualitas kehidupan Masyarakat setempat. Berbekal identifikasi potensi dan peluang daerah ini, maka kegiatan pemberdayaan ini ditujukan untuk memberikan kontribusi bagi masyarakat berupa upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan melalui pembekalan pengetahuan (softskill) dan keterampilan (hardskill) dalam pengolahan sampah yang diharapkan berdampak pada kemandirian ekonomi. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah participatory learning dengan menekankan prinsip learning by doing melalui penyuluhan, demonstrasi dan praktik pengolahan sampah, dengan landasan teoretis Gerakan Ihyaussunnah li mashlahat al-bi’ah dan teori pemberdayaan masyarakat yaitu Actors (authority, confidence and competence, trust, opportunities; responsibilities; dan support). Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui teknik observasi dan wawancara. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat memperlihatkan bahwa pengetahuan (softskill) dan keterampilan (hardskill) peserta pelatihan dalam pengolahan sampah plastik meningkat dengan diadakannya pelatihan tersebut terlihat dari hasil evaluasi bahwa mereka berpartisipasi aktif selama pelaksanaan kegiatan. Hasil pelatihan dapat memberikan motivasi bagi peserta pelatihan untuk memanfaatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang telah didapatnya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi (minyak) rumah tangga.
