Abstract

Learning media is a tool that can be used to facilitate the process of conveying knowledge in education. Media is very useful for describing subjects to make them clearer, shorter and more enjoyable. Because the availability and need for smartphones in universities is a priority, the use of animation and simulation-based learning media is an option. The objectives of this research are 1) to determine the level of suitability of material experts in animation and simulation-based learning media, 2) to determine the suitability of experts in animation and simulation-based learning media, 3) to determine the response to the use of animation and simulation-based learning media in cosmography courses. The method used in this research is a Research and Development approach (R & D) using a 4-D model (Four-D Models) which consists of four stages (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). The results of the research show: 1) the average assessment of material aspects by material experts obtained a score of 79%. The results of the assessment were in the range of 62.50, score ≤ 81.25% in the feasible category, 2) The average assessment by experts The media obtained a score of 81%, the assessment results were in the range of 81.25<score ≤100% in the very feasible category. 3) The response to using the animation and simulation-based learning media resulted in a calculation of 77.2 in the good category. These results can help learning activities, but there are obstacles from field conditions, as well as equipment and networks that must be developed further.

Abstract

Rice plays an important role in ensuring food security worldwide, especially in Southeast Asia and Indonesia. This study aims to determine the changes in paddy field area and spatial distribution of changes in 2019-2024 using Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing in Kuburaya Regency. The data used in this study include the area of paddy fields in Kubu Raya Regency in 2019-2024, an Indonesia Biomass Image, and a Topographic map. The data obtained were then processed using ArcGIS Pro software. Data analysis used a geoprocessing tool with the clip, Intersect, and Dissolve tools and Spatial Analysis using the Map Algebra Tool. The study results showed that overall changes in paddy field area from 2019-2023 were 9036,88 ha. Of the fourteen villages in the Teluk Pakedai sub-district, eight villages experienced an increase in area. The villages are Sungai Nibung, Kuala Karang, Seruat Satu, Tanjung Bunga, Teluk Pakedai Hulu, Madura, Sungai Nipah, and Teluk Pakedai Satu. Overall, the eight villages experienced an increase in the paddy field area of 578.94 ha or 21% of the total area in 2024. Two villages, namely Sungai Nibung and Kuala Karang experienced a 100% increase from 2019. The Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing provide convenience in monitoring and analyzing changes in land use, in this case, changes in the area of paddy fields. Therefore, in the future, this technology will be more effective in its use, because with this technology the data will be easy to update.

Abstract

The development of a community-based tourism village gives wider authority to the community to manage the potential of their village and has an impact on improving the economy and sustainable development. The purpose of this research was to find a community-based tourism development model in Nagari Koto Sani which has natural and cultural potential as a tourism village. This qualitative approach of research collects data through observation, interviews, focused discussions and documentation studies. The data is then analyzed using qualitative analysis with triangulation, so that the data obtained is valid and saturated. The results of the research show that the development model of community-based tourism village consists of three main stages, i.e., planning, implementation and reflection. Activities at the planning stage include, 1) identification of the potential of the village (Nagari), 2) focused discussions regarding the views and aspirations of the community, 3) preparation of the RIPPDES draft, 4) focused discussions regarding familiarization of the tourism village program. Then, the activities at the implementation stage are 1) community awareness, 2) strengthening local resources, 3) cooperation between stakeholders, and 4) tourism village promotion. Finally, at the reflection stage, the activities carried out are 1) observation and monitoring, 2) follow-up plans.

Abstract

The spring in Donorojo has neighborhood astuteness that capabilities to safeguard the spring. Neighborhood insight that is applied to turn into the primary fort is kept up with and springs stream to meet the day to day needs of inhabitants. Nearby insight means quite a bit to be examined and protected locally to keep up with balance and can be a method for saving the climate. The collected data technique used purposive sampling. Respondents comprised of the top of the villa, the top of the RT/RW, and the neighborhood local area. In the wake of deciding the respondent, the following stage is to direct top to bottom meetings and lead a subjective illustrative examination. The aftereffects of this study are: 1) The dispersion of springs in the review region from the hydrogeological sub-arrangement of the Gungsewu karst region, specifically the Donorojo-Pringkuku sub-framework where springs are found to shape waterway streams; 2) The kinds of springs in the review region can be gathered into: perrenial springs, diminishing springs, climbing springs, and rising springs. The order of springs in the review region in view of the release is remembered for class six with a release of 0.1 to 1 liter/second;3) the utilization of nearby springs is utilized to address the issues of families, animals, industry and mostly for farming; 4) every region that has neighborhood insight on springs, can be utilized as a work to preserve springs at the nearby level.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) find out the level of knowledge of students of the Department of Geography Education class of 2020-2023 regarding the demographic bonus, (2) find out the Readiness of soft skills of students of the Department of Geography Education class of 2020-2023. (3) knowing the Readiness of hard skills of students of the Department of Geography Education class of 2020-2023. This research was conducted at the Department of Geography Education, State University of Medan, in April 2024. The population of this study is 542 students, and the Researcher took 10% of the total population, namely 55 students. The data collection technique in this study is in-depth interviews. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The study results show that: (1) As many as 45% of geography education students of the 2020-2023 batch know the demographic bonus. (2) The Readiness of students of the Department of Geography Education class of 2020-2023 based on soft skills is in the category of unprepared. (3) The Readiness of students of the Department of Geography Education class of 2020-2023 based on soft skills is in the category of unpreparedness. So it can be concluded that students majoring in geography education class 2020-2023 are not ready to face the demographic bonus and must improve their soft and hard skills. Based on these things, the government and also campuses must strengthen the teaching of soft skills and hard skills either through training, workshops or internships that focus on developing these skills.

Abstract

The development of learning tools is one of the efforts to improve the quality of education as an effort to provide complete and systematic learning tools. One of them is the development of learning tools including (RPS) Semester Learning Plans and (RTM) Student Assignment Designs according to the KKNI in introductory geography courses. The development of learning tools in this study used the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development or Production, Implementation or Delivery, and Evaluations) model, with data collection instruments through questionnaires and validation sheets with descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the needs analysis showed that 74.4% needed an RPS adjustment and 78.9% needed the development of teaching materials in a social study program (PIPS), while the evaluation of the development validity (RPS) of Semester Learning obtained an average score of 3.59 while for the average instrument assessment (RTM) the Student Assignment Plan was obtained. the mean score is 3.75 with a mean value of 3.67 with valid criteria. These results indicate that the development of learning tools is following the KKNI and is ready to be implemented in learning activities.

Abstract

Fire is a disaster and its frequency is increasing every year. Seeing this, it is very important to know the spatial distribution of hotspots to determine the potential for fires in each area. Based on this, it is necessary to conduct research with the title "Spatial Distribution of Hotspots Using S-NPP VIIRS for Early Detection of Potential Fires". This research includes the type of descriptive research. The population in the study were all hotspots in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Hotspots were taken from the results of the S-NPP VIIRS satellite imagery recording from 2012-2021. The number of samples is equal to the number of populations. The data analysis technique uses nearest neighbor analysis and descriptive analysis which is processed using Arc GIS software. The research results show that fires occur during the dry season, namely in July, August, September and October. Spatial distribution of hotspots from the results of S-NPP VIIRS satellite imagery based on the accuracy of the most confidence level in July, August, September and October. If the spatial distribution of hotspots is known, it can be used as an early detection effort. Early detection is carried out as an effort to prevent and control fires with a greater negative impact. In addition, with the existence of an early warning system, the community is better prepared to deal with fires so that the negative impacts that may arise due to fires can be minimized, including loss of life and property.

Abstract

The issue of environmental damage has become a contemporary issue and a limelight of the world today. To anticipate environmental disasters needed a strategy that can change the paradigm of the community so that people are more literate about the environment and have a high understanding of the importance of the environment. Environmental education exists and is designed to increase students' eco-literacy of environmental problems that occurred during the 21st century and provide efforts in saving the environment. This study aims to determine the geoeco-book learning package to improve the ecoliteracy of alpha generation of elementary school students. Research and Development was chosen by involving 50 students at Cipinang Melayu 04 East Jakarta Elementary School as a randomly selected sample. This geoeco-book learning package refers to the goal of environmental education which emphasizes the process of introducing values and environmental morals by explaining concepts relevant to basic ecological material in order to develop core competence eco-literacy. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-tests to verify product differences and effectiveness. The results showed that there was an increase in the effective and significant generation of Z generation of students after they learned the learning package. Therefore, even though they are an alpha generation, they have a serious interest in reading and understanding learning packages as products. This is one way to change eco-literacy and expect changes in their attitudes towards the environment that will ultimately be more positive in their environmental behavior.

Abstract

Collaboration between Ijen Geopark and school has been identified as a significant driver in advancing sustainable development in Bondowoso. Research conducted aimed to explore how the integration of The Ijen Geopark education program within school contributes to sustainable development in the region. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, data collection encompassed observation, interview, and documentation. Key informants included the Ijen Geopark Manger and representative from schools. Findings from the study revealed several outcomes: 1). The implementation of the Ijen Geopark education program, which is comprised some initiatives such as:a).Geopark goes to School, b). Integration of Ijen Geopark subject material, c). Geopark Corner, d). School goes to Geopark, and e) establishment of Ijen Geopark Ambassadors.2). Challenges were identified, particularly regarding partnerships at the high school/vocational school level.3). The impact of the program was delineated, highlighting increased understanding among students regarding the interplay between humans and the environment, heightened awareness regarding the importance of nature conservation career prospects in natural sciences, environmental studies, and nature conservation.  It is hoped that this educational program will be sustainable and have an impact on schools and impactful.

Abstract

This research is Classroom Action Research which aims to improve student learning outcomes using the Group Investigation method. This research was carried out in 1 cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. Because the expected results have been achieved, only 1 cycle is carried out without a second cycle. The results of the research show a significant increase in student learning outcomes in oceanography courses for semester 2 students in Geography study program at PGRI University of Pontianak. In pre-action it was found that there were still 89% of students who could not achieve the minimum score with an average score 44.2. After implementing the group investigation method in the class, it was found that  the student's score increased to 77 with the student completion rate reaching 82%. This shows that the group investigation method is very effective in improving student learning outcomes because this model guide students to get involve in internalizing and reshaping information actively. Beside that, students build understanding from within, not from external sources which encourages a better understanding of the topics.
