Abstract

Financial technology (fintech) is embedded in everyday financial activity, while its statistical relationship with broader financial well-being is not consistently direct. This study examines the association between fintech usage and financial well-being, with financial satisfaction positioned as a mediator. Data were collected through an online self-administered questionnaire from 90 active fintech users in Indonesia who were at least 18 years old and had used at least one fintech service for a minimum of six months. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS was used to estimate the measurement and structural models. The measurement model demonstrated adequate reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity for all constructs. Fintech usage was positively associated with financial satisfaction, whereas the direct path from fintech usage to financial well-being was not statistically significant. Financial satisfaction was positively associated with financial well-being, and the significant indirect path combined with the non-significant direct path indicates indirect-only mediation. The findings identify financial satisfaction as the statistical intermediary linking fintech usage with financial well-being and provide evidence relevant to financial education and fintech service design.

Abstract

Employee innovation is an important source of organizational competitiveness, and its relationship with organizational support involves both direct and engagement-mediated pathways. This study examines the association between organizational support and employee innovation, with employee engagement positioned as a mediating variable. Data were collected from 105 employees and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The measurement model demonstrated adequate reliability and convergent validity for all constructs. Discriminant validity between employee engagement and employee innovation was not fully established because the heterotrait-monotrait ratio exceeded the conservative threshold. The structural model shows that organizational support is positively associated with employee engagement and employee innovation, and employee engagement is positively associated with employee innovation. The indirect effect through employee engagement was significant while the direct effect remained significant and positive, indicating complementary mediation. The findings identify employee engagement as a central pathway linking organizational support with employee innovation. The study contributes to the human resource management literature by demonstrating simultaneous direct and engagement-mediated associations and provides practical implications for support practices that strengthen engagement and innovative behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of digital advertising, social media interaction, and online customer reviews on purchase intention toward Hanasui, a local cosmetics brand, on the TikTok platform. This study employed a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0. The sample consisted of 140 respondents who were active TikTok users in Indonesia and had previously seen Hanasui advertisements and product reviews, selected using purposive sampling. As many as 88.6% of the respondents were from Java, indicating that the findings predominantly represent consumer behavior in this region. The results show that digital advertising has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, with a T-statistic of 4.253 > 1.96 and a P-value of 0.000 < 0.05. Meanwhile, social media interaction (T-statistic 0.936; P-value 0.349) and online customer reviews (T-statistic 1.598; P-value 0.110) do not have a significant partial effect on purchase intention. Simultaneously, the three independent variables have a significant effect on purchase intention, with an F-value of 19.284 and a P-value of 0.000, contributing 72.6% to purchase intention. These findings indicate that digital advertising is the primary factor influencing consumers' purchase intention, while social media interaction and online customer reviews require further optimization to enhance their effectiveness.

Abstract

The development of financial technology (fintech) provides convenience for Generation Z in conducting financial activities; however, this convenience needs to be balanced with the ability to control financial behavior in order to prevent excessive consumption. This study aims to analyze the effect of fintech ease of use and consumptive lifestyle on the financial management behavior of Generation Z in Cirebon City, with self-control as a mediating variable. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving Generation Z fintech users in Cirebon City. Data were collected from 100 respondents and analyzed using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method through SmartPLS 4. The results show that fintech ease of use has a positive and significant effect on self-control and financial management behavior, while consumptive lifestyle has a negative and significant effect on self-control and financial management behavior. Furthermore, self-control has a positive and significant effect on financial management behavior and is able to partially mediate the relationship between the independent variables and financial management behavior. This study indicates that fintech use supported by strong self-control can help Generation Z develop better and more planned financial management behavior.

Abstract

Blind box products, sold in sealed packaging that hides the exact item inside, have become popular among young Indonesian consumers, yet little is known about how the uncertainty built into these products shapes buying decisions. Drawing on the theory of consumption values, this study examines the effect of uncertainty on functional, emotional, and social value, and the effect of these three value dimensions on purchase intention among Generation Z consumers in Batam City. By positioning uncertainty as an antecedent of three distinct consumption-value dimensions, this study extends the application of the theory of consumption values to the experience-based context of blind-box purchasing. A quantitative design was used. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire from 350 respondents aged 17 to 30 who live in Batam and were familiar with or had bought blind box products, selected by purposive sampling. The data were analyzed with partial least squares structural equation modeling. Uncertainty had a positive and significant effect on functional value, emotional value, and social value, with the strongest effect on social value. All three value dimensions, in turn, positively and significantly influenced purchase intention and jointly explained 62.4 percent of its variance; emotional value had the largest coefficient, although the differences among the three were small. The findings suggest that, for blind box buyers, not knowing what is inside the package adds to rather than detracts from perceived value. Sellers can therefore treat the element of surprise as part of the product itself, while keeping quality consistent and supporting the collector communities in which buyers share their unboxing experiences.

Abstract

Accounting conservatism plays an important role in financial reporting to reduce the risk of earnings overstatement and increase transparency. This study examines whether leverage (as a proxy for debt covenant pressure), operating cash flow, managerial ownership, and institutional ownership are associated with accounting conservatism in manufacturing companies in the consumer goods industry sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2021-2023. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the financial statements of companies selected through purposive sampling techniques, with a sample of 13 companies that produced 39 firm-year observations. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression and classical assumption tests such as normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation tests. The four variables are jointly associated with accounting conservatism (F = 3.160, p = 0.026; adjusted R² = 0.185). Partially, leverage (B = 0.180, p = 0.016) and operating cash flow (B = 0.453, p = 0.003) are positively associated with accounting conservatism, whereas managerial ownership (B = −0.017, p = 0.875) and institutional ownership (B = −0.082, p = 0.464) are not significantly associated with it. The findings suggest that creditor pressure and internal cash generation, rather than ownership structure, are related to conservative reporting in this sector, although the small sample and modest explanatory power call for cautious interpretation
