Abstract

The study was conducted in rice fields, Sengir Farmers Group, Sumberharjo Village, BP3K working area, Prambanan Subdistrict, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The specification of land, cropping Rice - Rice - Rice harvest index (IP 300). The study was conducted during the dry season from July - November 2012 (known as Srondolan Rice). The research aimed to determine the effect of cropping treatment tajarwo system to increase rice productivity, determine the effect of treatment the number of seeds per planting hole to increase rice productivity, and the interaction between cropping systems combined treatment with the number of seeds per planting hole to increase the productivity of rice (Oryza sativa L).The research used Randomized Complete Block Design Experiment with 2 factors: the number of seedlings planted per hole (B) and legowo planting system (L). Each with 3 levels, (B2, B4, and B6) for the for B factor, and (L1, L2, and L3) to L factor. There was increasing on rice productivity to 1.58 tonnes / hectare.Treatment of the number of seeds per hole did not give significantly affect to productivity of dry milled per hectare (t/ha). There was increasing of productivity to 0.29 tonnes / hectare by "iwir" planting treatment (2 seeds per planting hole). Combination treatment between cropping systems with the number of seeds per planting hole provided no real effect (no interaction).

Abstract

Studies have been conducted in order to determine the composition of materials favored by coconut beetles as a breeding place for the control of larvae by the fungus Metarhizium anisopliae in coconut plantation Sitimulyo village, Piyungan Sub District, Bantul District, from May to November2012.The methode for this research used a complete randomized block design, consist of 5 treatments which were artificial nest coconut beetles lay eggs the size of 0.5cm3 were filled with cow dung, coconut tree powder, market waste, a mixture of cow dung and tree coconut powder, a mixture of cow manure and waste market, each treatment was repeated 4 times.The results showed that the artificial nests containing composition mixture of cow dung and coconut tree powder, beetles the most favored breeding places.

Abstract

Deltamethrin is a common pesticide used in plants and animals. Research about this pesticide has been done with various methods. The purpose of this research was to validate the alternative test method of deltamethrin using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). This research used pure deltamethrin. The tool in this research was HPLC Shimadzu 6.1 with 80% acetonitrile in aquabides for mobile phase, flow rate 1.6 ml/min and uv-vis detector wavelength 190 nm. The data were analyzed by calculated the average, standard deviation, and relative standard deviation. The results showed the average area for each concentration of 0.1 ug/ml, 0.25 ug/ml, 0.3 ug/ml, 0.5 ug/ml, 0.75 ug/ml, 1 ug/ml,2 ug/ml, and 5 ug/ml, were 52806.33, 119070.3, 137758.3, 220292, 339677.3, 449448.7, 856049.3, and 2,177,558, with a linear equation y = 43283x + 8455, R = 0,999. It could be concluded that the method is valid based on precision, acuration, specificity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, and linearity.

Abstract

The objecive of this research is to study the relationship between, individual modernity, networking and managerial ability with the empowerment for member of small farmer group. The research was carried out at Bogor District, West Java Province with a sample of 90 selected by multiple stage random sampling. The study finds out that there is positive correlation between: (a) individual modernity and empowerment; (b) networking and empowerment; (c) managerial ability and empowerment. Therefore empowerment for member of small farmer group can be improved by enhancing the individual modernity, networking and managerial ability.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to know farmer's, agriculture extension officer's, and policy makers' (the stakeholders) comprehension on local food policy, (2) to know the difference of local food policy level among the stakeholders, and 3) to know cooperation pattern between the stakeholders for the implementation of local food policy. The research method used the qualitative data analysis for the first and third objectives, while One Way Anova used to analyze the third objective. The result of the study showed that 1) the stakeholders' comprehension on local food policy was low, socialization through radio, television and print media were needed. 2) There was no significant difference on the local food policy among the stakeholders. 3) The coopera-tion pattern among the stakeholders were well implemented. The development on local food is expected to be more socialized and be able to improve the society welfare.

Abstract

Sustainable Food Household Area (KRPL) is one of the programs the Ministry of Agriculture in order to optimize the lawn yard in an region. The aim of KRPL program is developing the ability of families and communities in self sufficient the food and nutritions in a sustainable manner. The rapid development of KRPL depends on appropriate development techniques. Development techniques of KRPL in Yogyakarta through the stages (1) the formation of the group, (2) identification of group needs, (3) the preparation of action plans, (4) training, (5) creation nurseries and (6) design of KRPL area. Appropriate stages of the development techniques to realize replication KRPL quickly and is able to provide real benefits for the family. KRPL in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta has grown rapidly. In 2011, KRPL by one farmer group in Gunungkidul district, in 2012 has been developed in 4 districts and 1 city. In 2012, the number of KRPL groups in Yogyakarta as many as 12 groups, consisting of 8 women farmer groups and 4 farmer groups. Each KRPL in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta have characteristic such as having a nursery, carried out by number of RPL who joined the group and stay in the region. The benefits for families is to get the cost savings for food consumption which range between Rp. 50.000,00 to Rp.300.000,00 per month per family. The value of savings is limited, due to the number of plants cultivated still limited by each family.

Abstract

This study aimed to map the condition of food insecurity in Bojonegoro region of Bojonegoro. The research design was exploratory research, which was conducted in Bojonegoro. The data used were secondary data issued by the Food Security Agency in Bojonegoro District . The retrieving method of research location was purposively where Bojonegoro suffered flooding almost every year. The result showed that based on the results of the analysis of FNS (Food and Nutrition Awareness System) in the classifi-cation of food security mapping in Bojonegoro showed that out of 28 districts just as much as 9 districts which were yellow, while 19 districts were shown in green. A total of nine districts that had a yellowfood security map showed that the area was not good conditions for food security which included sub Ngraho, Sekar, Gondang, Ngasem, Kepohbaru, Baureno, Sumberejo, Balen and Malo. From 19 districts that constituted the general overview of Bojonegoro indicated that food security conditions of the area was good.

Abstract

Temulawak has a distinctive image of a bitter taste that causes some people are not willing to consume it. Though it contains an active compound such as curcumi-noids which has many health benefits for our bodies. This study aimed to minimize the bitter taste of temulawak through optimization of fermentation using yeast and to utilize the optimum one as raw material for temulawaks ice cream. The methods used in this study is the Response Surface Methods using Design Expert Version 8.0 program that generated into 13 running formula. From the total formula obtained optimum fermen-tation of temulawaks extracts which required yeast as much as 15 grams and 24 hours of fermentation time with curcuminoids content of 1.979%, 2.54 score of taste, 3.35 score of color, 2.78 score of flavor. Desirability of the product value reached 68.0%. Formula elected to use as raw material for producing ice cream. The result of ice cream showed that it had better quality of ice cream than used extracts without fermen-tation with an average hedonic score (a level of preference) at 3.98 and content of curcuminoids reached to 0.221%.

Abstract

A study of the influence of humic acid as fertilizer supplement on maize plant to fertilizing efficiency in unirrigated land of Kec. Bayan Kab. Lombok Utara NTB was conducted. Agricultural land of Kec. Bayan has the physical properties of sandy texture, loose structure and reddish brown with neutral acidity (pH 6.97 at a depth of 0-20 cm and a pH of 6.8 at a depth of 21-40 cm). In addition, it has low nutrient level of soil (Corganic, N, P, K) at depths 0-20 cm and 21-40 cm respectively are 0.912% and 1.150%; 0.064% and 0.074%; 0.001% and 0.005 %; 0.290% and 0.310%. Application of humic acid as fertilizers supplement improved the availability of major and micronutrients and enhanced their uptake. The highest availability and uptake of N, P and K was found in addition of humic acid @ 20 kg ha-1 along with 100% recommended dose of fertilizers. Application of humic acid in soil showed increasing of plant growth (plant height, weight and nutritional value of corn). Fertilized N, P and K without humic acid was provided of fertilizing efficiency below 50 %. The most efficient dose for humic acid fertilizer is 20 kg ha-1 along with 150 kg ha-1 of urea, 200 kg ha-1 of SP36 and 50 kg ha-1 of KCl.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of agribusiness livestock feed sheep by fermentation, in terms of profit analysis, O / I ratio and the R / C ratio. The study was conducted at Sunan Kalijaga, Jomblangan village, Wonocatur, Bantul. The study was conducted in May 2011. From the analysis of business profits earned Rp. 63,969,500, for the scale 250 tail, or obtained a profit of Rp 63,969,500, for the scale 250 tail, or in obtaining the advantages / tail Rp 255,878. O / I ratio of 1.29% and 29.9% ROI, so that the results of this analysis concluded that the agribusiness of sheep fattening cattle with feed frermentasi worthy enterprises.
