Redaksi menyambut para cendekiawan, peneliti dan praktisi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab untuk mengirimkan artikel ilmiah untuk diterbitkan melalui jurnal ini. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran bahasa Arab berbasis Computer Based Test (CBT) di Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Iman Ujan Rintis. Topik ini penting karena penerapan teknologi dalam evaluasi pembelajaran menjadi bagian integral dari transformasi pendidikan modern, termasuk dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing seperti bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan CBT memberikan dampak positif terhadap efektivitas evaluasi, terutama dari segi efisiensi waktu dan objektivitas penilaian. Namun, terdapat pula kendala seperti keterbatasan perangkat dan kesiapan teknis siswa dan guru. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun implementasi CBT memiliki tantangan, keberadaannya dapat meningkatkan mutu evaluasi pembelajaran bahasa Arab jika didukung oleh infrastruktur dan pelatihan yang memadai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode ceramah dalam meningkatkan maharah kalam (kemampuan berbicara) mahasiswa semester ?dua Universitas Kiai Abdullah Faqih Gresik. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal, ditemukan bahwa kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa dalam bahasa Arab masih rendah, ditandai dengan kurangnya penguasaan kosakata, kesalahan dalam susunan kalimat, dan rendahnya kepercayaan diri saat berbicara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 23 mahasiswa program studi Bahasa Arab. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, angket, dan tes unjuk kerja maharah kalam. Data yang diperoleh ?dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menghitung rata-rata nilai peningkatan maharah kalam mahasiswa pada setiap siklus. Hasil penelitian ?menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode ceramah secara terstruktur dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa secara signifikan. Pada siklus pertama, rata-rata nilai maharah kalam mahasiswa mencapai 68,7 dengan ?kategori cukup, dan meningkat pada siklus kedua menjadi 80,4 dengan kategori baik. Temuan lain dalam penelitian ini adalah metode ceramah yang diterapkan secara interaktif dengan penggunaan diskusi kelompok kecil terbukti mampu meningkatkan keaktifan dan keberanian mahasiswa dalam berbicara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan agar metode ceramah tetap digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab, khususnya pada tahap penguasaan struktur bahasa dengan metode interaktif agar hasil pembelajaran lebih optimal.

Abstract

This research investigates integration of mindfulness, meaningfulness and joyfulness in Arabic language materials in Islamic higher education. Through a qualitative multiple-case study in three schools, data were collected through instructor interviews, document analyses of syllabi and learning resources, as well as classroom observations. Results suggest that mind-opening practices will increase students’ attentional preparation and reflective engagement, that soul-stirring materials will support personal and spiritual relevance and, that joy-filled experiences will create emotional connection and sustained motivation. These principles are in tune with deep learning aims through engaging higher-order cognition, metacognitive awareness, and a depth of experience. Nevertheless, there are several obstacles such as lack of training for advanced material design, aversion to new techniques and technological limitations. The research finds that the use of a mindful-meaningful-joyful framework enhances Arabic pedagogy, and creates a connection between language learning and cognitive, affective, and spiritual areas. It demands infrastructure investments, teacher training and curriculum redevelopment to support rigorous but deeply humanizing Arabic instruction.

Abstract

This research is under the topic “Application of the Selective Methods to Acquire Arabic Vocabulary among Eighth Grade Students in Middle School at Hidayatul Umma Gresik. The focus of this research is on how to acquire Arabic vocabulary through a selective method. Hence, the researcher suggested that acquiring Arabic vocabulary by applying the selective method is an important matter to encourage the professor and students to pay more attention to applying the Arabic language with their vocabulary. The approach used in this research is the qualitative approach with the type of case study research. The aim of this research is to obtain descriptive data through interviews, observation, and documents on the application of the selective method to acquire Arabic vocabulary among eighth-grade students in Hidayatul Ummah Gresik. Among the most important results obtained by the researcher are: The researcher found shapes in vocabulary acquisition. There are different types of students’ ability to acquire their vocabulary during the process of teaching and learning the Arabic language, and for this reason the school encourages strong enthusiasm to make the students love Arabic.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa yang menjadi motivasi orang tua mempertimbangkan pondok pesantren agar mampu menjawab berbagai tantangan dan permasalahan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab kontemporer dengan proses pendidikan dan pengajaran yang lebih terpadu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara sistematis fakta-fakta yang ditemukan di lapangan yang bersifat verbal, kalimat, fenomena pada wali santri Pondok Pesantren Daruttauhid Malang dengan pendekatan studi kasus karena informasi data yang dibutuhkan digali dan dikumpulkan dari kasus-kasus yang ada di lapangan penelitian. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti akan berperan sebagai instrumen kunci (researcher as key instrument), dimana peneliti akan mengumpulkan sendiri data-data yang ingin dicarinya melalui dokumentasi, observasi perilaku, dan wawancara dengan partisipan. Diantara hasil penelitian ini adalah motivasi orang tua dalam memilih Pondok Pesantren Daruttauhid Malang sebagai lembaga pendidikan bahasa Arab. Berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang terjadi di lapangan yaitu adanya keinginan wali santri yang mengharapkan anaknya memiliki kemampuan bahasa Arab. Motivasi wali santri dalam memilih pendidikan berbasis pondok pesantren bagi putra-putrinya merupakan langkah yang sangat tepat untuk dilakukan terutama dalam hal pengembangan kemampuan berbahasa. Abstract

The study of language communication according to Jahiz and Ibnu Jinni provides deep insight into classical linguistic thought in the Arabic context. "Al-Jahiz'', an important figure in the history of Arabic linguistics, developed the theory of "nazm'' which emphasized the relationship between pronunciation, meaning, and social context. He argued that the formation of language meaning cannot be separated from its historicity and suggested the existence of a strong relationship between language elements such as pronunciation, signs, writing and contracts.Meanwhile, "Ibn Jinni" defines language as the sounds used by society to convey meaning. He emphasized that language is a social phenomenon that has a function in the context of certain groups. In his work "Al-Khasha'is", Ibn Jinni describes the sound characteristics and social functions of language and distinguishes between terms such as lahjah (dialect) and fushah (standard). He also introduced the “qiyas” method for creating new languages, which demonstrated an analytical approach in understanding the structure and use of language.These two thinkers show that language communication is not just a tool for interaction, but also reflects the social and cultural identity of society. Thus, their study makes a significant contribution to the understanding of modern linguistics and the social relevance of language.

Abstract

Speaking is a basic skill in Arabic language education, but it is often the weakest skill possessed by students, especially in the early grades of junior high school. Observations in first grade "B" at Al-Manba' Al-Salihin Islamic Preparatory School revealed that students had difficulty speaking because most were new students, and their vocabulary was inadequate for daily use. Although some students had memorized many words, their speaking skills remained weak due to lack of practice. To address this problem, this study chose the Numbered Heads method as a collaborative learning strategy aimed at increasing students' confidence in speaking Arabic. This study aimed to determine how the Numbered Heads method could be applied to improve the speaking skills and effectiveness of first grade students in class "B" at Al-Manba' Al-Salihin Islamic Preparatory School in Suji Maniyar Garsik. A qualitative approach was used, and the type of research was classroom action research conducted over two sessions. Each session consisted of four phases: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The results of the study showed that the application of the Numbered Heads method successfully improved students' speaking ability, as evidenced by the increase in their average scores. The difference in scores between the pre-test and the test in the first session was 11.80, and the difference in scores between the first and second sessions was 12.09.

Abstract

This study examines the interference of the Madurese language in Arabic. The purpose of this research is to describe the forms of syntactic interference of Madurese in the Arabic conversations of students at the Syu‘bah al-Lughah al-‘Arabiyah (SLA) institution. The data consist of cases involving the omission of sentence elements, errors in phrase formation, and errors in sentence structure containing interference. A total of 16 examples were collected as data and analyzed using an error-analysis framework from a sociolinguistic perspective. The findings of the study indicate that there are four types of syntactic interference, namely changes in word formation, omission of sentence elements, errors in phrase formation, and errors in sentence structure. The contributing factors to syntactic interference include the speaker’s bilingualism and the tendency to transfer linguistic behaviors from the first language (Madurese) to the second language (Arabic). Abstract

This study explores how memory strategies can improve Arabic speaking skills among students at Indonesian Islamic institutes. A quasi experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design was used, involving 81 students in an eight-week program that integrated various memory techniques like vocabulary recall, repetition, and association into speaking practice. Data were collected through speaking tests given before (pretest) and after (posttest) the intervention, alongside observations and questionnaires. Statistical analysis with a paired-sample t-test showed a significant improvement in speaking skills, with average scores rising from 62.50 in the pretest to 75.30 in the posttest. A high correlation coefficient of 0.988 and a significance value of 0.000 led to the rejection of the null hypothesis. These results indicate that using memory strategies effectively enhances vocabulary retention and speaking fluency in Arabic. The discussion underlines the positive connection between these strategies and improved oral skills, shedding light on the cognitive processes involved. The study concludes that incorporating memory strategies into Arabic language teaching in Islamic boarding schools not only boosts speaking skills but also builds students’ self-confidence. It recommends that teachers implement various memory-enhancing techniques to create a more effective and engaging learning environment.

Abstract

Nahwu learning in pesantren (Islamic boarding school) environments often employs the bandongan method, a one-way teaching model where the instructor reads, translates, and explains the classical book, while the students note the meaning using Pegon Arabic script. Although this method has become a deeply rooted tradition, its effectiveness in achieving a comprehensive understanding of Nahwu remains debated. This study aims to analyze the challenges and effectiveness of using makna gandul (Pegon Arabic script notes) in Nahwu learning through a literature review. The method used is a library study, examining relevant theories, pedagogical methods, and previous research findings. The review results indicate that the bandongan method has several weaknesses, such as a passive learning process, limited mastery of the Pegon script, local language barriers, and difficulty in understanding the text holistically. However, this method still has advantages, especially in helping students directly identify sentence structures. With the passage of time, adaptations such as the addition of discussion sessions are beginning to increase the communicative nature of this method. Thus, the effectiveness of the bandongan method is highly dependent on context, student readiness, and the accompanying pedagogical innovations.
