Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of teachers' pedagogical competencies in integrating the values of the love curriculum at the Madani Ikhwanul Hasanah Islamic boarding school. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study. The data sources consisted of in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation obtained from teachers, pesantren administrators, and students. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that although teachers' pedagogical competencies are adequate, there are challenges in applying the values of the love curriculum. Some teachers admitted that they had difficulty integrating the value of love into their teaching due to limited resources and time. The application of the love curriculum at the pesantren has a positive impact on the character building of students, but it still needs to be strengthened with more structured training for teachers.

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes reproductive health needs in four semi-rural Community Health Centers—Sukamahi, Mekarmukti, Lemahabang, and Cipayung—through a qualitative Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted as part of the Early Exposure program of the President University Faculty of Medicine. Twelve participants, consisting of Community Health Center leaders, program managers, health promotion officers, and cadre coordinators, engaged in a structured FGD to explore challenges, gaps, and priorities in reproductive health services. Thematic analysis identified three major themes: (1) fundamental reproductive health needs among adolescents and women, particularly related to puberty, menstrual hygiene, and the lack of adolescent-friendly counseling; (2) gaps in cadre competence, including insufficient training, limited technical skills, and inadequate educational resources; and (3) primary healthcare system constraints, such as limited human resources, weak program coordination, and inadequate service infrastructure. These findings align with reproductive health needs theory, capacity-building frameworks, and primary care determinants. Collectively, the results underscore the need for a targeted intervention focusing on strengthening cadre skills and knowledge in reproductive health. This direction was chosen as the most feasible and high-impact strategy among several alternatives discussed. The study highlights important implications for Community Health Center policy, community health education, and medical student training, while acknowledging limitations regarding sample size and generalizability.

Abstract

Inadequate sanitation, such as the use of unhygienic toilets and open waste management, results in E. coli contamination of water sources and the surrounding area. Children living in such environments are at high risk of chronic diarrhea and impaired nutrient absorption, known as environmental enteropathy. If this situation persists throughout the first 1,000 days of life, stunted growth, or stunting, is a sure outcome. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between environmental sanitation and stunting in children aged 2–5 years at the Krueng Barona Jaya Community Health Center, Aceh Besar Regency, in 2025. The study used an analytical observational design with a case-control approach. A sample of 60 toddlers, consisting of 30 cases and 30 controls, was selected by age and gender matching. There was a significant association between access to clean water, waste management, and toilet use, and stunting. Inadequate environmental sanitation, clean water supply, inadequate waste management, and unhygienic toilet use collectively increase the risk of pathogen contamination and recurrent infections in children, ultimately hindering nutrient absorption and triggering stunting. Improve sanitation facilities and activate PHBS counseling, especially regarding the importance of washing hands with soap, drinking water treatment, and toilet maintenance.

Abstract

Sexual violence involving children constitutes one of the most complex criminal law issues in contemporary legal systems because it simultaneously concerns criminal liability, victim protection, rehabilitation policy, and judicial proportionality within one legal framework. This study examines Samarinda District Court Decision Number 26/Pid.Sus-Anak/2023/PN Smr using normative legal research through statutory, case, and conceptual approaches. The statutory approach is directed at Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes, Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning Juvenile Criminal Justice System, and child protection regulations. The findings demonstrate that the panel of judges applied Article 6 letter b in conjunction with Article 15 letter g of Law Number 12 of 2022 by imposing ten months of imprisonment in a juvenile correctional institution and two months of vocational training. Although the sanction formally reflects juvenile justice principles, judicial reasoning still indicates transitional inconsistency because some legal considerations remain influenced by earlier child protection norms. The novelty of this study lies in integrating  maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah as an evaluative framework for assessing modern judicial punishment, particularly through the dimensions of  ḥifẓ al-nafs, ḥifẓ al-'ird, and ḥifẓ al-nasl

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of students’ mathematical problem-solving skills due to less contextual geometry instruction. It aims to develop a geometry learning module based on an ethnomathematics approach using the context of the Ranup Lampuan dance to improve fourth-grade students’ problem-solving abilities at SDN 01 Percontohan Meulaboh. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design with a mixed-methods approach. The participants consisted of 48 students, divided into an experimental group (24 students) and a control group (24 students). Data were collected through expert validation, tests, observations, questionnaires, and interviews, and analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis, N-Gain, and paired sample t-test. The results show that the developed module is valid, with ratings ranging from good to very good in terms of content, media, language, and cultural aspects, and is practical for classroom use. The module also increases students’ learning interest and facilitates understanding of geometric concepts through connections with local culture. Quantitatively, the average pretest score improved from 60.2 to 79.6 in the posttest, with an N-Gain value of 0.50 (moderate category). The paired sample t-test indicates a significant difference (p < 0.05). Therefore, the module is effective in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving skills.

Abstract

The reform of Indonesian criminal law through the enactment of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the National Criminal Code (KUHP Nasional) marks a historic milestone after more than seven decades of relying on the colonial-era Wetboek van Strafrecht (WvS). One of the most fundamental transformations within the National Criminal Code is the reformulation of the principle of legality, which is no longer confined to written law (lex scripta) but also recognizes the existence of living law within society as a source of criminal law. This article aims to critically analyze the construction of the legality principle in the National Criminal Code, to identify normative tensions between the formal legality principle and the recognition of customary law, and to evaluate the juridical implications for legal certainty, human rights protection, and criminal justice practice in Indonesia. Employing a normative-comparative approach and legal hermeneutic analysis, this study finds that Articles 1(1) and 2 of the National Criminal Code create a normative dualism that potentially generates legal uncertainty in the absence of adequate interpretive guidelines. The article concludes that a conceptual harmonization is necessary between the modernity of criminal law and the values of legal pluralism that characterize Indonesia, including the development of technical regulations clarifying the boundaries and mechanisms for applying living law in judicial practice.

Abstract

Work stress is one of the psychological factors that may influence the quality of nursing care in hospitals. High workload, shift systems, and emotional demands in patient care may increase nurses’ work stress and affect the quality of care provided. This study aimed to examine the relationship between work stress and self-reported quality of care among nurses at RSUD Dr. H. Chasan Boesorie, Ternate. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design and cross-sectional method. The population consisted of 312 nurses, with a sample of 185 respondents selected using Slovin’s formula and simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using five-point Likert scales to measure work stress and Self-reported quality of care. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression with SPSS 25.0. Reverse scoring was applied to the self-reported quality of care variable, where higher scores indicate lower quality of care. The results showed a significant relationship between work stress and self-reported quality of care (r = 0.879; p < 0.05). Regression analysis indicated that work stress contributed 77.3% to the variance in self-reported quality of care among nurses.  It can be concluded that work stress has a very strong influence on the perceived quality of nursing care. Therefore, stress management strategies are needed to improve hospital service quality.
