Abstract

Besei Kambe is a traditional Dayak game from Central Kalimantan in which two teams compete by pulling a jukung on the water. Beyond its cultural significance, this activity embodies various physics concepts that can be utilized as contextual learning resources. This study aims to identify and analyze the physical principles that emerge during the practice of Besei Kambe, particularly those related to Newton’s laws, action–reaction forces, and resultant forces. Through qualitative analysis based on illustrative observation and literature review, the study reveals that the motion dynamics of the boat and the interactions between the paddlers and the water reflect direct applications of these fundamental physics concepts. These findings indicate Newton’s First Law appears when the boat remains still under balanced forces, Newton’s Second Law when an unbalanced force causes acceleration, and Newton’s Third Law in the action–reaction interaction between the paddle and the water. These findings demonstrate that Besei Kambe naturally represents fundamental mechanics principles and can serve as an effective contextual resource for physics learning grounded in local wisdom.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) have a strategic role in preparing students to be ready to compete in the world of work through mastery of technical skills and understanding of industry concepts. In the Fashion Skills Program, one of the important materials in the Preparation element of Fashion Making Preparation phase F is the creation of blouse patterns. Learning this material is generally rarely found in the form of E-comics. Therefore, this study aims to assess the feasibility of E-comic learning media in the material for making blouse pattern phase F. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The feasibility of E-comics is assessed by material experts and media experts using instruments that have been proven to be valid and reliable. The data was analyzed using a percentage descriptive technique to determine the level of media feasibility based on the criteria that had been set. The results showed that E-comics made blouse patterns obtained a feasibility percentage of 91.1% from material experts and 88.8% from media experts, which is included in the "Very Feasible" category.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the use of the Ibis Paint X application and the motivation to learn to design fashion at SMK Negeri 1 Salatiga. This research is a quantitative approach research with a correlational design. The population in this study is all students of class XI fashion at SMK Negeri 1 Salatiga which totals 71 students, and the sample in this study uses total sampling, The sampling technique uses total sampling, namely making the population as a sample, there is a total sampling because the population is less than 100. The data collection technique used a Likert scale questionnaire. The data in this study were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Hypothesis test using Pearson correlation. The results of the study obtained that there was a significant relationship between the use of the Ibis Paint X application and the motivation to learn to design the fashion of grade XI students, the fashion show had a pearson correlation coefficient value of 0.559 and a significance value (sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000. This shows that there is a relationship between the use of the Ibis Paint X application and the motivation to learn to design fashion in grade XI students of fashion at SMK Negeri 1 Salatiga with the correlation category being.

Abstract

Vocational education in fashion aims to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to the demands of the industry. In the Fashion Education curriculum, Fashion Technology is positioned as a basic course that supports applied courses such as Children's Fashion Production. This study aims to examine the influence of the learning outcomes of the Fashion Technology course on the learning outcomes of students in the Children's Fashion Production course. This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. The population consists of 82 students of the class of 2023 of the Fashion Education Study Program at Semarang State University, and a total sampling method was used. Data is collected through documentation of student academic data records. Data analysis included descriptive statistics and inferential analysis using simple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The results of the regression analysis showed that the learning outcomes of Fashion Technology had a significant positive influence on the learning outcomes of Children's Fashion Production (F = 24.655; p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.233, indicating that Fashion Technology contributed 23.3% to the variance in student achievement in Children's Fashion Production. The regression coefficient (B = 0.457) showed that higher achievement in Fashion Technology was associated with better performance in applied courses. These findings affirm the importance of Fashion Technology as a foundational course that supports students' success in practical fashion production and highlight the need for strong alignment between basic and applied courses in fashion vocational education.
