Abstract

Besei Kambe is a traditional Dayak game from Central Kalimantan in which two teams compete by pulling a jukung on the water. Beyond its cultural significance, this activity embodies various physics concepts that can be utilized as contextual learning resources. This study aims to identify and analyze the physical principles that emerge during the practice of Besei Kambe, particularly those related to Newton’s laws, action–reaction forces, and resultant forces. Through qualitative analysis based on illustrative observation and literature review, the study reveals that the motion dynamics of the boat and the interactions between the paddlers and the water reflect direct applications of these fundamental physics concepts. These findings indicate Newton’s First Law appears when the boat remains still under balanced forces, Newton’s Second Law when an unbalanced force causes acceleration, and Newton’s Third Law in the action–reaction interaction between the paddle and the water. These findings demonstrate that Besei Kambe naturally represents fundamental mechanics principles and can serve as an effective contextual resource for physics learning grounded in local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the learning outcomes of the Basic Elements of Patterns in phase E and the learning outcomes of the Preparation Elements of Fashion Making in phase F in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at Vocational Schools of Fashion Expertise program. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of ex post facto correlational research, because the variable data studied has occurred before the research was carried out. The population in this study consists of all students in grade XI of Fashion Dress at SMK YATPI Godong for the 2025/2026 Academic Year which totals 49 students and uses a total sampling technique where the entire population is used as a research sample. The research data was obtained through documentation of student learning outcomes in both learning elements. Data analysis began with a statistical descriptive test to describe the characteristics of the data, then continued with a normality test, and a Spearman Rank correlation test with the help of SPSS Statistics 26 extension. The results of the normality test showed that the data was not normally distributed, so the correlation analysis was carried out using Spearman Rank. The results showed a significant positive relationship between the learning outcomes of the Basic Elements of Patterns and the learning outcomes of the Elements of Preparation for Fashion Preparation with a significance value (Sig 2 tailed) of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.618. These findings show that the mastery of basic competencies in phase E contributes to the achievement of advanced competencies in phase F. Thus, learning outcomes in each learning element in the Independent Curriculum are interrelated and sustainable, especially in learning Fashion at Vocational Schools.

Abstract

Pancasila, as the foundation of the state and the nation's philosophy of life, plays an important role in shaping the younger generation's personalities to be tolerant and civilized. Nevertheless, globalization and the dissemination of digital information can foster intolerance and erode students' national values. This study aims to evaluate how Pancasila values are implemented among students through a socialization program promoting social harmony, organized by the Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB) of Semarang City, and to examine its role in fostering religious moderation and student character. This research uses a qualitative approach, including in-depth interviews with FKUB administrators, school officials, and students involved in outreach activities. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the FKUB socialization program is able to implement Pancasila values contextually and practically through dialogue, discussion, and interfaith interaction. This program fosters tolerance, mutual respect, and awareness of the importance of harmony in students' social lives. Despite several obstacles, the synergy among FKUB, schools, and local governments was a major factor in the program's sustainability. This study concludes that FKUB's socialization of harmony is an effective strategy for strengthening Pancasila values among students.

Abstract

Through activities in the Student Shop Cooperation Section of the Modern Islamic Boarding School Student Organization (OPPM) of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Putri 1, this study seeks to examine how female students develop independent character. This study employs a descriptive design and a qualitative methodology. Participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies were used to gather data from research subjects, which included administrators, Cooperation advisers, and student shop Cooperation members. Throughout the phases of data condensation, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification, data analysis was done interactively. The study's findings show that an organized student management pattern, which includes organizing, planning, carrying out, and assessing Cooperation activities, helps female students develop independent character. The development of emotional, financial, intellectual, and social independence is facilitated by female students' participation in Cooperation management. The Islamic boarding school's student shop Cooperation serves as both an economic entity and a vehicle for character education grounded in ongoing habituation and real-world experiences. According to the study's findings, integrating student management with Cooperation learning activities is a successful tactic for helping female students develop independent personalities. The results of this study are anticipated to have both practical consequences for the administration of student organizations centered on character formation and theoretical contributions to the advancement of character education studies in Islamic boarding schools.
