Abstract

The idea of women in Islam is examined in this article as a key topic in modern Islamic studies, covering theological, sociological, and pedagogical facets. By examining the viewpoints of the Qur'an, Hadith, Islamic academic tradition, and historical precedents, this study seeks to provide a comprehensive picture of women's strategic position and role. This article illustrates how Islam sees women as spiritually equal beings with a variety of roles through scriptural and contextual study. The Qur'an and Hadith's endorsement of men and women's spiritual equality, which dispels patriarchal prejudices, opens the topic. The article then examines the ideas of "Sayyidah" and "Umm," which show how women's roles in the home and in society are balanced. Exemplary characters like Khadijah, Aisha, and Fatimah are also presented in the analysis as models of perfect women who achieve achievement in their careers, education, and spiritual lives. It is also stressed that women play a crucial role in forming the character of future generations as "madrasah al-ūlā" (first school). To sum up, Islam views women as active and important participants in the advancement of civilization. In the context of women's education at establishments like the Gontor Putri Modern Islamic Boarding School, which seeks to create ideal Muslim women capable of serving as leaders and educators in society, these ideas are not merely theoretical but also applicable.

Abstract

The development of science and technology has significantly transformed the way people think and interact in modern societies, including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze how science influences the mindset of Indonesian society, focusing on the acceptance of technology and popular science. Using a descriptive-empirical approach, this research employs literature review and secondary survey analysis from sources such as OECD PISA (2022), UNESCO Science Report (2023), and BRIN (2023). The findings indicate that Indonesia’s scientific literacy remains below the global average, with cultural and religious factors playing a crucial role in shaping attitudes toward science and technology. Although public perception of science is generally positive, there is a gap between interest and practical engagement, particularly among students. Media exposure and popular science content significantly mediate the formation of scientific attitudes, but low digital literacy often leads to misinformation. The study concludes that the integration of science education with socio-cultural and ethical values is essential to fostering a rational, open-minded, and evidence-based public mindset in Indonesia.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Snowball Throwing strategy in improving reading comprehension of report texts among ninth-grade students at MTsN 1 Probolinggo. Additionally, this study also determines the extent of improvement in student learning outcomes. This research addresses the issues of low reading skills and passive learning behavior among students. Initially, the learning pass rate was only 24%. Conducted in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, this study involved 25 students from class IX D. This study followed Kemmis and McTaggart's (2014) cyclical CAR model, which included a pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. Quantitative data were obtained from pre-tests and post-tests, while qualitative data were obtained from observations and field notes. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes. The average score increased from 48.0 in the pre-cycle to 72.6 in Cycle I, and peaked at 88.8 in Cycle II. The learning completion rate reached 100% in Cycle II, exceeding the success indicator of 80%. Qualitatively, students became more active, confident, and demonstrated better collaboration skills. Therefore, the Snowball Throwing strategy has proven to be very effective in improving report text comprehension and creating an interactive learning environment. Therefore, it is recommended that future research explore the effectiveness of this strategy on different types of texts or specific reading skills, such as inference.

Abstract

Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) is a national government initiative launched in 2025 aimed at improving student nutrition and enhancing the quality of the teaching-learning process. However, its implementation in the field still faces several challenges. This study aims to evaluate the success of the MBG program and reveal the issues that arise through a case analysis of findings of unsafe food consumption at SDN 2 Sandubaya, East Lombok. Research data was collected from official documents, literature reviews, and media reports. The findings indicate deficiencies in kitchen hygiene, quality monitoring, and food distribution management, leading to biological contamination such as the presence of maggots in student meals. This situation affects the decline in student health, sense of safety, and parental trust in the program. Analysis using Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory emphasizes that the inability to fulfill basic physiological needs and a sense of security can hinder students' readiness to learn. This study recommends the implementation of rigorous sanitation standards, layered supervision, improvement of food provider competencies, and regular evaluations to ensure the MBG program runs efficiently and contributes to improving educational standards in Indonesia.s employed.
