Abstract

Transformative Curriculum: Concepts, Implementation, and Challenges in History Education. Objectives: This study is designed to investigate the Transformative Curriculum's concept and implementation in the field of history education, as well as to pinpoint the obstacles that teachers and students face when implementing it in secondary schools. This research offers a comprehensive analysis of the Indonesian secondary education system's interpretation, practice, and challenge of Transformative Curriculum, unlike previous studies that primarily concentrated on curriculum theory or case studies in Western contexts. It emphasizes the local pedagogical, cultural, and policy-related dynamics that influence its implementation. Method: A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations in history lessons, and document analysis. Findings: The results suggest that the Transformative Curriculum's implementation fosters students' reflective thinking, the development of empathy and awareness of social issues, and the connection between historical events and contemporary social contexts. Nevertheless, its implementation is impeded by a variety of challenges, such as inadequate learning resources, inadequate teacher training, and a curriculum structure that continues to prioritize rote memorization.. Conclusion: The Transformative Curriculum has the potential to significantly improve the critical and contextual comprehension of history among students. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating the interaction between transformative learning theory and Indonesian cultural norms (e.g., reverence for authority, exam-oriented education) and by providing context-sensitive strategies for cultivating reflective historical thinking. Consequently, in order to optimize its implementation, educational policies should provide support for the continuous development of critical reflection-based learning resources and teacher training. Keywords: transformative curriculum, history education, critical thinking, social awareness, reflective learning.

Abstract

There are three type of learning models, one of which is blended learning. Blended learning is learning that combines face-to-face instruction with e-learning. Program Vokasi Universitas Indonesia encourages lecturers to implement this model to enhance the quality of vocational students. Universitas Indonesia support for blended learning is shown through the Learning Management System: emas2.ui.ac.id. Behavioural intention in the context of blended learning is crucial, as reflect students readiness as learners to use technology. Studying academic performance is vital in the higher education, as it serves as the primary indicator of the success of the learning process and the achievement of educational goals. Objective: The study was conducted to asses the academic performance of vocational students in the blended learning model. Methods: This study uses the concept of behaviour intention derived from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study uses a quantitative approach for the analysis, an online survey was conducted to obtain data from 65 respondents, who have taken information technology courses. The collected data is then processed using SPSS  using three stages: validity and reliability test, simple regression and moderation test. For the moderation test, subgroups based on gender and school origin were used. Findings: The result showed a significant effect behaviour intention on academic performance among vocational students. The moderation test revealed different results for the indicators: gender (male vs female) and school origin (public vs privat school). Significant result were found for the female and public school as moderation categories. Keywords: behavior intention, academic performance, blended learning, vocational.

Abstract

Development of Web-Based Assessment for Pancasila Student Character in Senior High Schools: This study aims to develop a web-based student character assessment system oriented toward the Pancasila Student Profile for the Senior High School level. The system integrates three assessment methods teacher assessment, peer assessment, and self-assessment to gather comprehensive and objective data about student character. The instrument used in this system is based on six core dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile: faith and devotion to God Almighty, global diversity, cooperation, independence, critical reasoning, and creativity. Each dimension includes five indicators, resulting in 30 items in total. Instrument development followed the Orindo & Antonio (1984) model, while the web system design adopted principles from Martin & Betrus (2019), emphasizing digital efficiency and functional design. Research findings show the developed system is valid, reliable, and efficient. Content validity testing yielded an average Aiken’s index of 0.882, and construct validity was confirmed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with satisfactory model fit results (p ≥ 0.05; RMSEA ≤ 0.08; CFI, TLI, IFI ≥ 0.95; factor loadings > 0.3). All six dimensions showed Composite Reliability (CR) scores above 0.7, and Cronbach’s Alpha reached 0.859, indicating strong internal consistency. The system was built using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL. Expert validation yielded an average Aiken’s index of 0.941, affirming its visual and functional quality. A practicality test with 50 teachers produced an average score of 86%, indicating the system is highly practical. Integration of multiple assessment types allows for data triangulation and comprehensive character evaluation. The system supports teachers in assessing and fostering character, simplifies the process, enhances transparency, and enables real-time data analysis, offering a scalable and effective digital solution for character education in Senior high schools. Keyword: web based assessment, character, pancasila student, EFA, CFA.

Abstract

The Impact of Academic Supervision, Work Environment, and Principal Leadership on the Performance of Elementary School Teachers. Objective: The aim of this investigation is to evaluate the impact of academic supervision, work environment, and principal leadership on the performance of elementary school teachers in Lembang District, Pinrang Regency. The study's primary objective is to determine the degree to which these variables, both individually and collectively, influence the quality of teacher performance. Methods: This investigation employs a survey methodology in conjunction with a quantitative methodology. The population consists of 42 instructors from four public elementary schools in Lembang District: SDN 150, 152, 153, and 200 Pinrang. A proportional random sampling technique was employed to select a sample of 30 instructors. The research instrument is a questionnaire that has been extensively evaluated for its validity and reliability in order to assess the variables of academic supervision, teacher performance, work environment, and leadership. SPSS version 25 was employed to conduct data analysis through multiple linear regression. Findings: Regression analysis results demonstrated that teacher performance was substantially influenced by principal leadership, academic supervision, and the work environment (R² = 0.707). Academic supervision was the most significant variable influencing teacher performance (β = 0.619), with work environment (β = 0.345) and principal leadership (β = 0.173) following in that order. The regression assumptions, including absence of multicollinearity, linearity, and normality, were satisfied by all variables. Conclusion: This investigation affirms that the quality of principal leadership, the establishment of a supportive work environment, and the implementation of appropriate academic supervision significantly impact teacher performance enhancement. This finding suggests that it is necessary to enhance the quality of basic education by bolstering the capacity of principals, work environment management strategies, and supervision systems. Keywords: principal leadership, work environment, academic supervision.

Abstract

Flipped Learning in Foreign Language Learning in Higher Education: Analysis of Effectiveness and Moderator Variables. Many studies have reported that the flipped learning strategies has a significant effect on students' foreign language skills in college compared to traditional learning strategies. However, reports regarding the effectiveness of flipped learning strategies in foreign language learning are very heterogeneous. Objectives: Based on this empirical gap, this study aims to synthesize the application of flipped learning strategies in students' foreign language learning in higher education compared to traditional learning strategies. Method: This study uses the meta-analysis method to answer the objectives of this study. Findings: The results of the analysis of twelve research samples with a random-effect estimation model show that the use of the flipped learning strategies has a more significant effect on students' foreign language skills in college when compared to traditional strategies, with the combined effect size value being in the large effect category (g = 0.89; p < 0.05). In addition, the results of the moderator factor analysis show that the variables of flipped learning class capacity, ability type, and foreign language type significantly affect the effectiveness of the use of the flipped learning strategies to students' diverse foreign language skills. Conclusion: These reports provide strong evidence as recommendations for educators, researchers and educational policy makers regarding the application of flipped learning strategies in foreign language learning in higher education. Regardless of the validity of the results, this study only involved a few research samples. Further research is recommended to combine more samples, or focus on the type of abilities measured, so that it can provide more specific conclusions. Keywords: effect size, foreign language, flipped learning, meta-analysis, moderator variable.
