Abstract

The transportation of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) aims to deliver FFB and loose fruits to the mill in good condition through careful handling and adherence to delivery schedules, ensuring optimal palm oil mill operations. Freshly harvested FFB must be transported immediately for prompt processing. This study evaluates the effectiveness of FFB transportation at PT. Langkat Nusantara Kepong, Bekiun Estate, Division III, located in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Province. A descriptive analysis with a purposive sampling method was used, collecting primary and secondary data from reliable sources. The results show that cargo rickshaws are more efficient for transporting FFB from the collection point (pasar pikul) to the loading ramp (TPH), carrying an average of 15.3 FFB with an average bunch weight of 114.87 kg per trip within 05:17 minutes, while wheelbarrows transport an average of 14.6 FFB with an average bunch weight of 244.9 kg per trip within 05:31 minutes.

Abstract

Oil palm plantations cannot be separated from harvest workers, where harvest labor has an impact on the yield or quality of the fruit which will later be sold to the public. Of course, special attention needs to be paid to the harvest workforce, such as facilities and infrastructure that support good quality of palm oil products. This research was conducted at PT. Langkat Nusantara Kepong, Kebun Bukit Lawang Division II. This research was carried out in July – August 2022. The method used was quantitative descriptive and assisted by using the SPSS application. There are 5 variables taken, namely X1 (Age), X2 (Education Level), X3 (Work Experience), X4 (Salary), X5 (Support Facilities). The results of this research show that the F test together with the independent variables has a significant effect on the productivity of oil palm harvest workers, while the results of the T test on X4 (Salary) and X5 (Support Facilities) have a significant effect on the productivity of coconut harvest workers. palm oil in Bukit Lawang Plantation Division II, PT. Langkat Archipelago Kepong.

Abstract

Oil palm harvesting is an important activity in oil palm management. The harvesting process involves cutting Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) from trees until the fruit arrives at the Yield Collection Point (TPH). The success of oil palm harvest is closely related to the harvester's knowledge of the harvest system, harvest ripening criteria, and harvest rotation. Employees get premiums because the employee works beyond normal working hours or overtime, works on holidays, or because of the employee's productivity work performance at work. Premium is an overpayment given by the company because employees have to work harder for various circumstances or uncomfortable working conditions. The purpose of this research is to (1). To find out what affects premiums at PT. Socfindo Tanah Gambus Kec. Lima Puluh District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, (2). To find out the influence of work experience, work motivation, age, attendance and work performance on premiums at PT. Socfindo Tanah Gambus Kec. Lima Puluh, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra. This research was carried out for 4 months starting from April to July. The methods used are quantitative methods and sampling techniques using Purposive Sampling. The results of the study of factors affecting premiums showed that work motivation (X2), attendance (X4) and work performance (X5) had a real effect on premiums. In this study, the most influential factor among other factors is work performance (X5) with a significant value (0.000) from the real level used, namely (0.05) or 5%, while work experience (X1) and age (X3) have no real effect on premiums because the definition value obtained from the results of data processing is greater than the real level used, which is (0.05). This study can conclude that the five factors that affect premiums are work motivation (X2) 0.0070.05 and work performance (X5) 0.0000.05 have a positive and significant effect while attendance (X4) 0.0170.05 has a negative and significant effect.

Abstract

Research in the form of a field experiment with the title "Growth Response and Yield of Red Lettuce Plants (Lactuca sativa L.) Due to the Administration of Several PGR Concentrations Using Floating Raft System Hydroponic Technology". was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University, West Sumatra, Tanjung Gadang Koto Village. Nan Ampek, West Payakumbuh District, Payakumbuh City, altitude ± 514 meters above sea level. The experiment lasted for 3 months, starting from June 2023 to August 2023. This experiment used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications, in one replication there were 4 plants, 2 of which are sample plants selected randomly. The treatments were several ghost PGR concentrations of 0 ml/liter, 2 ml/liter, 4 ml/liter, 6 ml/liter and 8 ml/liter. The observation data were averaged and analyzed statistically with the F test at a significance level of 5%. Observation parameters were plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), leaf length (cm), leaf width (cm), weight per plant (g), plant weight per plot (g), plant weight per hectare (tons). From the results of the experiments that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the administration of several concentrations of Ghost ZPT has not been able to have an effect on the growth and yield of red lettuce plants.
