Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of rhizosphere bacteria microcapsule fertilizer application and chicken manure fertilizer on the growth of robusta coffee seedlings (Coffea canephora L.). The background of the study is based on the need for environmentally friendly superior coffee seedlings, considering that the continuous use of inorganic fertilizers has the potential to reduce soil fertility. Rhizosphere bacteria-based biofertilizers are expected to be able to increase plant growth organically, while microencapsulation technology is used to increase the effectiveness and resistance of bacteria in the environment. This study used a two-factorial Completely Randomized Design with 16 treatments and 5 replications, involving variations in the dose of chicken manure fertilizer (0, 100, 200, 300 grams) and rhizosphere bacteria microcapsules (0, 5, 7.5, 10 grams). The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, and root length. The results showed that the application of rhizosphere bacteria microcapsules at a dose of 7.5 grams (M2) significantly increased the height of robusta coffee seedlings, while the dose of 300 grams of chicken manure fertilizer (K3) also had a significant effect on plant height growth. However, the treatment did not provide a significant difference in the number and area of leaves. This study concluded that the combination of rhizosphere bacteria microcapsules and chicken manure fertilizer can be an environmentally friendly solution to optimally increase the growth of robusta coffee seedlings

Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a strategic plantation commodity that plays an important role in Indonesia’s economic development and provides employment for millions of workers. The rapid growth of the palm oil industry has increased the demand for high-quality seedlings. Successful seedling production is largely influenced by cultivation techniques and fertilizer availability. Within the concept of sustainable agriculture, bamboo shoot liquid organic fertilizer (POC) can serve as an alternative nutrient source for oil palm seedlings. This study aimed to (1) examine the response of oil palm seedlings to various doses of bamboo shoot POC, and (2) determine the optimal dose for seedling growth. The experiment was conducted for four months (March–June 2025) at the experimental field of Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments (0, 140, 280, 420, and 560 ml/polybag). Results showed significant effects on vegetative growth, with the best performance observed at 560 ml/polybag (P4).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in the development of agribusiness communities and their contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Agribusiness has a strategic role in improving community welfare, especially in rural areas, but still faces challenges such as limited access to capital, low technological literacy, weak marketing networks, and limited sustainable resource management. This study uses a literature study method with a systematic approach to scientific articles and relevant research reports for the period 2016–2025, which are searched through Google Scholar, Scopus, and DOAJ. The research findings show that NGOs play a role in empowering farmers through training, mentoring, facilitating access to capital, strengthening institutions, marketing assistance, and public policy advocacy. This role not only increases farmer independence and welfare but also strengthens the agribusiness sector's contribution to achieving the SDGs, particularly in poverty alleviation, food security, quality education, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequality, sustainable consumption and production, and strong institutions. Thus, NGO play a role in developing agribusiness communities to realize sustainable development goals.
