Abstract

The aims of this research were to know the relationship among biological learning difficulties with affective competence and cognitive competence and each contribution to that difficulties toward student of SMUN 8 Surakarta. This research was carried out during academic year of 2004/2005. This was the descriptive quantitative research with ex post facto. The threated student was sampled in amount of 40 students by simple random sampling.  The data obtained was then analized by multivariate-linear regression analysis. The result showed that there was significant difference between biological learning difficulties with affective competence and cognitive competence. The dominant contributor to the difficulties was the affective competence (82,29%). This research also found that there was correlation between those two competences. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model POE melalui laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtuil ditinjau dari aktivitas belajar dan kemampuan berpikir abstrak terhadap hasil belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2x2. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Plupuh Sragen. Sampel penelitian ditentukan secara acak dengan teknik cluster random sampling terdiri dari dua kelas. Kelas eksperimen I diberi perlakuan menggunakan laboratorium riil terdiri dari 32 siswa dan kelas eksperimen II diberi perlakuan menggunakan laboratorium virtuil terdiri dari 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes untuk data hasil belajar kognitif, psikomotor dan kemampuan berpikir abstrak, angket untuk data aktivitas dan hasil belajar afektif, lembar observasi untuk data psikomotor dan afektif. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan anava tiga jalan sel tak sama dengan bantuan software SPSS 17. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa: (1) hasil belajar pembelajaran POE melalui laboratorium riil lebih tinggi daripada laboratorium virtuil, baik aspek kognitif, psikomotor, maupun afektif; (2) siswa dengan aktivitas belajar tinggi memiliki hasil belajar yang lebih baik daripada siswa dengan aktivitas belajar rendah; (3) siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir abstrak tinggi memiliki hasil belajar yang lebih baik daripada siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir abstrak rendah; (4) terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran model POE melalui laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtuil dengan aktivitas belajar terhadap hasil belajar; (5) tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran model POE melalui laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtuil dengan kemampuan berpikir abstrak terhadap hasil belajar; (6) terdapat interaksi antara aktivitas belajar dan kemampuan berpikir abstrak terhadap hasil belajar; (7) tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran model POE melalui laboratorium riil dan laboratorium virtuil, aktivitas belajar, dan kemampuan berpikir abstrak terhadap hasil belajar. Kata Kunci:  Model POE, Laboratorium Riil, Laboratorium Virtuil, Aktivitas Belajar, Kemampuan Berpikir Abstrak

Abstract

  ABSTRACT- Metacognition skill is regarded as higher order thinking. It is important to assure the success of achieving particular learning goal as it guarantees the improvement of student?s ability iof thinking towards particular given concept. Building metacognition skill has been commonly used in learning Genetics. One example of method within metacognition is Reading, Questioning and Answering (RQA model. Theoritically, this model is able to facilitate student to improve his higher order thinking and therefore, metacognition skill in Genetics can be raised through this model. Abstract

AbstractThis research was aimed to know the inflaence of water quality and pollution on fecundity of l*bistesreticulatus Peters. The result of this research will show how environmental factors act toward the organism onseveral levels of ecological hierarchy. The disscussion of it then will enrich student's understanding about theeffect of environmental fastors toward the organism. That is the material to learn,This research was carried out upon Gajah Wong river precisely on water mass which polluted bytannery waste and the water mass out of polluted area. Three sampling were carried out along the trasect whichcover the befor- polluted area, the outlet of waste and the water mass polluted by the waste. Embrio was thencounted for measure the fecundity.The result shows that pollution affect the fecundity of Lebistes reticalqtus by turning the fecunditylower. Pollution caused the change of dissolved orygen and water acidity from its normal condition. Indeed,pollution caused the low environmental quality, even for reproduction of the more-tolerannt fish. Disscussionupon that result will enrich student's understanding about the ffict of pollution toward living thing. Bycarrying the student into the field during teaching and learning proccesses and practicing on ecology, theunderstanding will go into effectively.Key words: Lebistes reticulatus'fecundity, tannery pollution, teaching materials

Abstract

The objectives of the research was to know the effect of cooperative teaching model to increase the comprehension of digestive concept toward the students in the second grade of SLTP N 1 Suruh Kabupaten Semarang. Descriptive qualitative approach was applied in the researeh with Colaborative Action Research. Questioner and documentary of daily notes and exercises collect the data. To keep the data valid, observations rechecking by other teacher, instructor or the consultant were carried out. Based on the research with was done, it can be conclude that the application of cooperative teaching model have positive effect to the comprehension of digest concept toward the students. The learning motivation and achievement and the mean of score after treatrnent were better than before. Key words: application, cooperative learning

Abstract

ABSTRACT- A study deals with critical thinking based model for Invertebrate Zoology instruction conducted in Biology Education of Teachers Training College was aimed to improve critical thinking  of the biology prospective teachers.  This study employed       research and development design. This study was intended to mainly provide the         prospective teachers with: a developed model of critical thinking based instructial       program, and its evaluation. The study resulted in a model of critical thinking-based      instructional program used for teaching Invertebrate Zoology. The proposed model has it strength in improving students? both deductive and inductive thinking skills. In addition, this model is also effective to improve critical thinking in the teaching practice of certain subject covering structural morphology and anatomy. Yet, the developed model has it    limitation in terms of enhancing/promoting students?/trainees?of making assumptions and arguments.   Key Words: instructional program of Invertebrate Zoology, critical thinking skill, model of teaching

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology in the 21st century requires students to think critically, creatively and highly a positive attitude towards science, society, and possess initiative correspond to issues resulted by the impact of science and technology?s application. Learning model that correspond to the development of science and technology is STS learning model, because the learning model allows students actively involved in learning and to show the role of science and technology in society. The aim of this research is to know the influence of STS learning model toward biology learning achievement of X degree students at SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali in 2012/2013 academic year. This research was a quasi experiment research using posttest only non equivalent group design. This research applied STS learning model towards experimental group upon class X at SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali in academic year 2012/2013. Cluster sampling was used upon the population. Data was collected using test and non test method, and analyzed by t-test. T-test results of the three domains is t count > t table so that Ho is rejected. This research concluded that the application of STS learning model has taken good effect toward student?s achievement cognitive, psychomotor, and  affective domain in learning biology of SMA Negeri 3 Boyolali. Keywords:     Science Technology Society Learning Model, Biology Learning Achievement

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan metode eksperimen disertai teknik Roundhouse Diagram dan Mind Map, gaya belajar, dan motivasi belajar serta interaksinya terhadap hasil belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor pada materi Sistem Ekskresi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMAN Kebakkramat Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013 Semester II. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling terdiri dari dua kelas. Kelas eksperimen I (XI IPA 2) belajar menggunakan model PBL dengan metode eksperimen disertai teknik Roundhouse Diagram dan kelas eksperimen II (XI IPA 3) belajar menggunakan model PBL dengan metode eksperimen disertai teknik Mind Map. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes untuk data hasil belajar kognitif, angket dan lembar observasi untuk hasil belajar afektif dan psikomotor serta angket untuk gaya dan motivasi belajar. Uji hipotesis menggunakan anava tiga jalan dengan desain faktorial 2x2x2. Berdasarkan hasil olah data disimpulkan: 1) ada pengaruh model PBL dengan metode eksperimen disertai teknik Roundhouse Diagram dan Mind Map terhadap hasilbelajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor; 2) ada pengaruh gaya belajar kinestetik dan visual terhadap hasil belajar kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor; 3) ada pengaruh motivasibelajar tinggi dan rendah terhadap hasil belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor; 4) ada interaksi antara teknik pembelajaran dengan gaya belajar siswaterhadap hasil belajar afektif, tetapi tidak pada hasil belajar kognitif dan psikomotor; 5) tidak ada interaksi antara teknik pembelajaran dengan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap hasil belajar kognitif,afektif, dan psikomotor; 6) ada interaksi antara gaya belajar dengan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap hasil belajar psikomotor, tetapi tidak pada hasil belajar kognitif dan afektif; 7) tidak ada interaksi antara teknik pembelajaran, gaya belajar, dan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap hasil belajar kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor.Kata kunci: Diagram Roundhouse, Mind Map, gaya belajar, motivasi belajar

Abstract

ABSTRACT- The aims of this study are to find out: (1) the effect of influence between Search Solve Created and Share learning model and the Problem Based Instruction to the achievement of biology, and (2) the influence between the high creativity students and the low creativity students to the achievement of biology. This research was conducted during May-June 2006, using experimental method by taking two groups randomly. The        population of the research is all students in grade X in SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar 2005/2006. The sample is six classes taken randomly by lottery, the control classes are X1, X4 dan X6, and the experimental classes are X2, X3 and X5. The technique of      collection data is using test, documentation, questionaire and observation. The data is   analyzed using Anava technique. From the analysis it can be concluded that: (1) there was any influence Search Solve Created and Share learning model and the Problem Based   Instruction learning model to the achievement of biology, (2) there was any influence   between the high students' creativity and the low students' creativity to the achievement of biology.   Key Words: learning model Search Solve Create and Share and Problem Based Instruction,  achievement of biology, students' creativity
