In KKN PMD activities in Akar-Akar Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, students and field supervisors at Mataram University carried out various activities with a focus on changing the community's mindset and developing village potential. The aim of the KKN PMD is to increase village potential, especially in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry. The four (4) main methods applied are: (1) counseling about the importance of recognizing village potential and how to utilize it optimally, (2) counseling about effective farming and livestock techniques on dry land, (3) training in making alternative animal feed (silage ) from agricultural waste, and (4) planting fruit seeds of high economic value to improve the economy and community welfare. The results of this activity show an increase in community knowledge and understanding of the village's potential and how to better manage it. Apart from that, there is also an increase in farmers' knowledge and skills regarding productive agriculture and animal husbandry on dry land through planting fruit plants with high economic value, increasing forage for livestock, and using agricultural waste as alternative animal feed to increase community economic resilience and preserve the land environment. dry. It is hoped that the results of this activity can help farmers maximize village potential and facilitate their activities in farming and raising livestock. Overall, this KKN PMD activity has succeeded in overcoming several problems in Akar-Akar village, especially in development in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry.

Abstract

This article discusses the potential of baglog waste management into compost in the village of Jago, located in Praya Subdistrict, Central Lombok Regency. The study was conducted using survey and interview methods to evaluate the agricultural practices, environmental impact, and sustainability efforts in the region. The findings reveal that the conversion of baglog waste—byproducts of mushroom cultivation—into compost offers a promising solution for enhancing soil fertility while reducing environmental pollution. This practice not only supports sustainable agriculture but also provides an eco-friendly alternative to chemical fertilizers. With the right approach, the management of baglog waste into compost can significantly contribute to the sustainable development of the village, ensuring that agricultural productivity and environmental health are maintained for future generations.

Abstract

Real Work Lectures (KKN) are a form of student service to the community as part of the third "Tridharma of Higher Education", namely community service. In 2024, the University of Mataram KKN will carry a green economy theme which aims to empower village communities through various activities that focus on improving welfare and environmental sustainability. One of the locations for implementing KKN is Selelos Village, Gangga District, North Lombok Regency, a village with a topographical character of plains and hills and various social problems, such as a lack of attention to plantation crops and the environment. This KKN activity aims to overcome these problems by implementing main programs, such as training in making compost from plantation waste, socialization of environmental law, as well as training in integrated pest and plant disease control. Through this program, it is hoped that community awareness and ability can be created to protect the environment and increase plantation productivity in Selelos Village.

Abstract

Real Work Lectures (KKN) is a form of application of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service. This activity was carried out in Taman Ayu Village, Gerung District, West Lombok Regency which is known for its abundant natural resource potential where the majority of the population's livelihood is farming and animal husbandry. This is no exception for groups of people with disabilities who often find it difficult to find work and choose farming as an alternative. Seeing this, the 2024 Mataram University PMD KKN group took the initiative to empower groups of farmers with disabilities through outreach and training in making liquid organic fertilizer from aloe vera. The method of implementing this activity consists of two stages, namely the planning stage and the socialization and training stage. The results of this activity showed high enthusiasm from the participants. It is hoped that this activity can increase crop production, provide ideas for new business opportunities, and support the welfare of disabled farmers in Taman Ayu Village

Abstract

Our KKN group has a main work program, namely processing pineapple leaves into textile fibers. The reason why we are carrying out this work program is because of the abundance of natural resources of pineapples in Jurit Village. The pineapple plantation in Jurit Village has an area of 170,895 hectares. In implementing this work program, we collaborated with Mrs. Siti Aisyah as the owner of Pinalo, which is a company that operates in the field of processing pineapple leaves into textile fiber. From the collaboration we carried out, we received various new knowledge starting from the supply of 80 kg of pineapple leaves which can produce 1 kg of textile fiber, then the characteristics of pineapple leaves to how to process pineapple leaves into textile fibers manually. Characteristically, pineapple leaves have a length ranging from 55 to 75 cm with a width of 3.1 cm to 5.3 cm and a leaf thickness of between 0.18 and 0.27 cm. The way to process pineapple leaves into textile fiber is by first dredging, then taking the fiber, then soaking until the fiber is completely clean and then drying. After all the series of stages are completed, the supply of textile fibers can be processed into used goods such as making clothes, pillowcases and bolsters, as well as interior walls of houses, especially hotels. In implementing this work program, we also carried out direct outreach and practical activities to the people of Jurit Village who were immediately warmly welcomed with great enthusiasm. Seeing this, of course we hope that this work program will be able to improve the creative economy of the Jurit Village community.

Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer is a solution derived from the decomposition of organic materials such as vegetable, fruit, or household waste. The research aims to investigate the effect of organic waste mixture on liquid fertilizer that meets Indonesian National Standard (SNI). The method used is a direct experiment with the residents of Mujur village, where vegetable and fruit waste are collected and crushed. They are then fermented for 2 weeks with the addition of EM4 in a ratio of 1:1:100. Testing was conducted at the Mujur village farm secretariat. The results show that plants given Liquid Organic Fertilizer experienced faster stem growth. On the first day, chili plants grew 4.5 cm, and on the third day, 5.0 cm, while the comparison with ordinary water showed 4.5 cm on the first day and 8.0 cm on the second day. Based on the experimental results, it can be concluded that the treatment on the first and second day significantly proves that the liquid fertilizer produced is very good for plants.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) is a special program held by a University and used as a forum for students to serve a village or region through programs designed based on field surveys. Slum areas have become commonplace in Indonesia, especially areas that have received less attention from the government. This is due to the lack of public awareness of cleanliness, so they are indifferent to littering. A similar thing happened in one of the RTs in Rabangodu Utara Village where the people used empty land as a garbage dump. The solution offered to overcome this problem is to process the former garbage dump into a healthy garden, in the form of planting vegetables. This activity is carried out in stages starting with cutting grass, lifting garbage, loosening the soil, then planting seeds. From these activities, it is hoped that the healthy garden will be beneficial to the community.
