Abstract

Bayan Village, located in Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, has great potential in the agricultural and plantation sectors due to its strategic location at the foot of Mount Rinjani. The fertile soil in this village allows residents to grow various crops, including coffee. However, most residents only sell coffee in raw form without going through the processing process, so the added value of coffee products is not optimal. To overcome this, a workshop was held on processing robusta coffee into robusta coffee powder and cascara tea as an effort to optimize the productivity of MSMEs in Bayan Village. This workshop aims to increase the productivity of MSMEs by processing coffee into high-value products. In addition to increasing economic value, this workshop is also expected to reduce coffee skin waste in Bayan Village and provide additional sources of income for residents. Thus, Bayan Village can be an example of a village that has succeeded in optimally utilizing its natural potential, creating new jobs, increasing residents' income and contributing to sustainable village economic growth.

Abstract

The problem of plastic waste is a serious issue in Indonesia, especially in Tanjung Village, Bima City, where waste management is still less than optimal. One solution implemented is the use of Ecobrick, a plastic waste management technique by filling used bottles with plastic until they are solid and hard. This program involves socialization and training at SDN 29 Tanjung and SMPN 13 Bima City, where students are taught how to process plastic waste into products with economic value such as furniture. The results of this program show that Ecobrick is effective in reducing the volume of plastic waste while increasing public awareness of the importance of waste management. The use of Ecobrick not only helps maintain environmental cleanliness but also provides economic benefits and has the potential to reduce negative environmental impacts such as coastal abrasion. It is hoped that this program can be the first step in forming new habits in the community related to waste management.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) at Universitas Mataram in 2024 was implemented in Kelurahan Dodu, Kota Bima, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), focusing on improving the management of organic waste from agriculture and livestock. This area, while rich in resources, faced challenges in waste management, leading to environmental issues. The program aimed to educate and train the community in producing compost and bokashi fertilizers from organic waste. Methods included socialization, practical training, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation. The training effectively increased community engagement and skill development in waste management, with positive feedback and readiness to continue these practices independently. This initiative has successfully fostered sustainable agricultural practices and strengthened the partnership between the university and the local community.

Abstract

Mataram University had a program called Community Service Program Empowerment of Village Communities in 2024/2025 implemented a work program for making Liquid Organic Fertilizer and socializing about procces of making Liquid Organic Fertilizer. This is based on the results of the analysis found on the waste processing system and the dominant amount of waste, namely food waste. The amount of food waste is more dominant because Peresak Village itself has quite a large agricultural and plantation area. Making this fertilizer uses simple materials such as food waste, barrels, yeast tape and so on. In making this fertilizer, it also takes time to ferment. The finished product then packaged in a container that has been given a sticker to make it neater and more attractive. Then, after the product is finished, outreach is carried out to the local community about how to make it, advantages, and so on.

Abstract

Desa Jeruk Manis has great agrarian potential, especially in the Citrus maxima plantation sector. While its fruit pulp has high economic value, pomelo peels are often discarded as waste despite containing bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. Utilizing pomelo peels as the main ingredient for making candied products can provide economic and social benefits for the village community, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This program was implemented through training sessions for housewives and MSMEs in Desa Jeruk Manis, consisting of socialization and hands-on practice in making candied pomelo peels. The process involved several stages, including washing, soaking, boiling, and packaging. The results of this initiative showed that the training successfully enhanced the community’s skills in processing pomelo peels into high-value products. The resulting candied product demonstrated good sensory quality in terms of taste, texture, and shelf life, with significant potential to be developed as a village specialty product. Additionally, this program contributed to increasing household incomes and supported the circular economy concept by repurposing agricultural waste. Therefore, utilizing pomelo peels for candied production is expected to become a sustainable economic empowerment strategy in Desa Jeruk Manis and other areas with similar potential.

Abstract

Organic farming in Indonesia is gaining more attention as a sustainable alternative toaddressing environmental and health challenges. The decline in agricultural landproductivity and environmental degradation have driven the developments of organicfarming systems. Organic farming can serve as a safer alternative system as itproduces products free from synthetic chemical contaminants while also preservingenvironmental sustainability. The outreach activities on organic plant pest anddiseases (PPD) control in Tumbuh Mulia Village aim to support the development ofgreen economy. PPD control prioritizes an approach that integrates various methodsthat manage pest populations while considering economic efficiency andenvironmental impact. These activities include counseling and training for farmers onthe use environmentally friendly botanical pesticides. The discussions with farmersgroup revealed that pest infestations as brown planthoppers, whiteflies, andmealybugs, as well as diseases like stem rot and root rot, which contribute todecreased crop yields. The outreach program, involving 38 participants, successfullyimproved farmers' knowledge of pest and disease identification and control.Participants’ enthusiasm during discussion and demonstration sessions indicated theirreadiness to adopt new techniques in agricultural practices. Thus, this outreachinitiative is expected to have a positive impact on improving agricultural yields andthe well-being of the community in Tumbuh Mulia Village.

Abstract

Pare Mas Village, Jerowaru District, East Lombok, has great potential in developing mangrove-based ecotourism, but its current condition is starting to fade. The mangrove tourism destination of Pare Mas Village needs further restoration and development, not only to attract tourists to visit, but also as a form of community maintenance of their village tourism area. By implementing the right strategy, Pare Mas Village has a great opportunity to become a leading ecotourism destination in East Lombok. This KKN PMD Unram aims to revive the mangrove tourism destination of Pare Mas Village by implementing a sustainable village development strategy, helping to promote tourist villages through social media, and socializing the strengthening of village tourism institutions. The data collection method uses observation and interviews, with the aim of obtaining information about Pare Mas Village. With the implementation stage of the activity divided into 3 important parts, namely observation and planning, socialization, and the provision of tours and promotion of Pare Mas Village tourism, the socialization activity of strengthening village tourism institutions is in line with the main objective of the KKN PMD activity to revive the tourism sector of Pare Mas Village which is starting to fade, and all of that begins with strengthening village tourism institutions. This received a positive response from the Pare Mas Village community, which then became a driver in reviving the tourism sector of Pare Mas Village, as well as village MSMEs. Empowerment of Village Communities was given the opportunity to participate in the One Day Trip to Pesona Desa Pare Mas tourism activity, such as becoming a tour guide to selling typical Pare Mas Village products. Tourism promotion was also held by reviewing the tourism potential in Pare Mas Village, including famous tourist attractions in Pare Mas Village to attract visitors. Overall, the KKN PMD program was successfully implemented and had a positive impact on the Pore Mas Village community, both in terms of economy, tourism, and environmental awareness. With the assistance and follow-up programs, it is hoped that the community can manage their local potential independently and sustainably, making the village more independent, creative, and competitive
