Abstract

The cosmetic industry is experiencing rapid growth, as evidenced by the dominance of the Indonesian cosmetic industry in the domestic market, along with the increasing interest in the use of cosmetics that encourages manufacturers to compete in creating products that suit consumer desires. This phenomenon is reflected in the various cosmetic products available both domestically and internationally. This study aims to determine purchasing decisions influenced by the price and quality variables of halal-labeled lipstick products. The design of this study is descriptive and verification, with 92 consumers as analysis units. The data collection procedure uses literature and field studies through interviews and distributing questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis method uses multiple linear regression analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, determination coefficient analysis, and simultaneous and partial significance tests. The study's results indicate that simultaneously the price and quality variables of lipstick have a significant and positive effect on purchasing decisions. The price variable has a significant and positive effect on purchasing decisions, but the quality variable partially has no significant effect on purchasing decisions. It is recommended that manufacturers consider adjusting prices to better suit consumer preferences, and maintain their quality durability, thus further strengthening their uniqueness for use in all activities.

Abstract

Multimedia-assisted learning represents a transformative strategy in modern education, designed to enhance student engagement and comprehension. This study investigates the impact of Buddhist-themed multimedia tools in elementary education, addressing limitations of traditional instructional methods. Using Dual Coding and Cognitive Load Theories as frameworks, a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design compared the learning outcomes of students exposed to multimedia resources against those taught using conventional methods. The results demonstrated that integrating visual and auditory media significantly enhanced student comprehension, retention, and engagement. Statistical analyses, including t-tests and ANOVA, confirmed that the experimental group exhibited superior learning outcomes compared to the control group. Additionally, qualitative feedback indicated strong student approval of the interactive and culturally tailored content. However, challenges such as limited technological resources and insufficient teacher preparedness were identified, highlighting the necessity of targeted infrastructure investment and professional development. This study emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive multimedia tools in improving educational practices, offering practical recommendations for integrating innovative technologies into diverse learning environments

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Situational Teaching method in enhancing emergency language skills among foreign language learners, particularly in the context of using English as a communication tool during crisis or emergency situations. Emergency language skills are increasingly essential in today’s global landscape, especially for individuals working in fields such as healthcare, tourism, transportation, or disaster response, where clear and rapid communication is critical. A quasi-experimental method was employed using a pre-test and post-test control group design. The study involved 60 intermediate-level language learners who were randomly assigned to two groups: an experimental group that received instruction through Situational Teaching, and a control group that was taught using conventional grammar-based methods. Data collection instruments included emergency language proficiency tests, classroom observations, and semi-structured interviews. The instructional program was implemented over eight weeks with two sessions per week. The results revealed a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.01) in emergency language skills scores in the experimental group compared to the control group. Additionally, classroom observations and interviews indicated that learners in the experimental group demonstrated enhanced confidence, fluency, and the ability to comprehend and respond more appropriately and contextually to emergency scenarios. The use of realistic situational simulations was found to increase both emotional and cognitive engagement, which in turn strengthened language acquisition in high-stress contexts. In conclusion, this study affirms that the application of Situational Teaching effectively enhances emergency language skills. It is recommended as a pedagogical strategy within foreign language curricula, especially when addressing the contextual and functional needs of learners in high-pressure environments.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the use of SimCity simulation games as an interactive learning medium in improving students' understanding of the concept of trading in Microeconomics courses. The method used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, namely one-group pretest- post-test. The research subjects consisted of 14 students who participated in intervention learning using SimCity, where they experienced firsthand the process of contextual economic decision-making in a simulation of urban development. Data collection was carried out through an initial test (pretest) and a final test (post-test) to measure the level of student understanding before and after the intervention. The data were analyzed using a statistical test paired with a sample t-test to determine the significance of the difference in values. The results of the analysis showed that the average pretest score was 15.3 and increased to 18.7 in the post-test. The t-test yielded a significance value (p) of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that there was a statistically significant improvement. The conclusion of this study is that the use of SimCity has been shown to be effective in improving students' understanding of the concept of commerce. Simulation games provide a contextual, reflective learning experience and encourage critical thinking and cognitive engagement. However, the limitations of this study lie in the non-use of the control group and the relatively small number of participants. Further research is recommended to adopt a full experimental design with a larger sample count and a more diverse material context.
