Abstract

This research applied Small Group Discussion learning model to improve the understanding of concept of KKNI 6th level students to match their expert field. The observations showed that the concept understanding of students was still low. This research was a classroom action research with Kemmis McTaggart cycle model. This classroom action research was conducted over two cycles. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The subjects of the research were 2A class students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Program in Yogyakarta State University which amounted to 39 students. The data collecting technique in this research was test, while the data analysis technique used descriptive quantitative by finding mean then described. The result of the research showed that the concept understanding of the students in pre-action condition were 55,2 included in low category, then the average of students’ understanding concept increased in the first cycle with score 64,7. In cycle II, the students’ understanding concept increased significantly  with score 77,3. Based on the research, it  can be concluded that the SGD model can  improve the students' concept understanding.

Abstract

Good education reflects the quality of the nation. A teacher is a spearheaded on the educational field to provide generation that has a good quality. In order to established a generation that has good quality, a quality learning method is needed. Therefore, PGSD students as prospective national educators have to understand the basics of learning in elementary schools. The study that is conducted at UST in the department of PGSD  found that the understanding of the basic concepts of social study is low. The aim of the study is to improve the understanding concept of social study to students in UST in the department of PGSD. This study uses Cooperative model type GI in lecture activities. The study is used classroom action research by engaging 2 cycles, each cycle has a duration about 2×50 mins and conducted on 2 meetings. Subjects of the study were the writer as a researcher, lecturer, and students of  UST in the department of PGSD. Data sources were taken from lecturer and students. Data were collected used test, observation, and interview technique. The data validity test is used triangulation. The data analysis technique that is used an interactive analysis that consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The result of the study shows that the use of GI able to improve the understanding of the basic concept of social study on the student in UST in department of PGSD. Lecturers may use the GI in the learning process to make students more active in study and to improve the understanding of students' conceptions.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to examine the effects of cooperative learning approach ofStudent Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD), the level of student’s learning motivation, andthe interaction of the two independent variabels to understanding on social studies in elementarystudent. Cooperative learning was compared to lecture recitation cycle using a quasiexperimentaldesign. An achievement test consisting of items from the state competency test, anda motivation to learn questionnaire adopted from Hari Witono were administered. The analysisof variance(Anova) was used to data analyse. Anova showed a significant difference among thedependent variables from the learning strategies used. There was also a significant difference instudent’s understanding on social studies between the high and low levels of motivation to learn.But there was no interaction between the learning strategis and the levels of motivation to learntowards understanding on social studies in elementary school.Based on these findings,it wassuggested that teacher need to use cooperative learning type STAD and motivate students tolearn, so student’s achievement, especially in social studies subject matter, increased.

Abstract

AbstractOne of the many problems faced by education in Indonesia is the low quality. Several attempts have been taken by the government to resolve the issue, but the results is still far from expectations. Based on expert opinion, the problem of low quality education should be focused on improving the quality of learning, by developing and using instructional media or learning resources that is available in the learning environment. Learning video is an qfective medium to be used to facilitate student's learning and it suites to serve students of auditory and visual learning type. Therefore, to improve the learning process quality, teachers are not only expected to make use of media and learning resources that are available but also to develop the learning media, especially learning video

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a manual book to improve Indonesian migrant workers with destination Malaysia. This research adopted the research and development model (RnD)proposed by Thiagarajan. Data collection technique employed questionnaire, observation, and pre-posttest. The need analysis was conducted through pretest and the result of observation and questionnaire. The expert judgment involved media expert, material expert and Indonesian migrant workers to assess the prototype of the manual book. Quantitative data were obtained from pretest and posttest scores and the questionnaire from expert validation and user. Descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques were used to process the data observation. Quantitative data analysis was used to examine the scores obtained from the pre and posttest. The research produced (1) a manual book design and (2) a product of manual books which has been tested for its effectiveness and practicality in improving Indonesian migrant worker knowledge.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan desain dan pengembangan produk berupa buku panduan un- tuk meningkatkan pengetahuan Tenaga Kerja Indonesia (TKI) dengan tujuan Malaysia. Model yang digu- nakan dalam penelitian ini adalah research and development (RnD) dari Thiagarajan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner, observasi dan pre-posttest. Data yang diperoleh melalui analisis kebutuhan dengan memberikan pretest, observasi, dan kuisioner. Validasi ahli dengan instrumen kuisioner untuk me- nilai prototipe buku panduan oleh ahli media, ahli materi, dan TKI tersebut. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari hasil pretes dan postes kepada TKI dan kuisioner untuk validasi media dan respon dari TKI. Hasil penelitian menghasilakn sebuah desain dan produk buku panduan yang telah teruji efektivitasnya dalam meningkat- kan pengetahuan TKI.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the creativity of problem solving through the method of team product on the 2nd grade students Prodi S1 PGSD University Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa (UST). Classroom action research is conducted in two cycles, and each cycle has two meetings with planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection using test and nontest techniques. Data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that compared with pretest result before using team product method and after use of team product method, there is an increase of learning result from pretest to posttest of cycle I as much as 4% then increase 4% again in cycle II. Overall for the average pretest is 70.5 then the posttest average value after the action done on the first cycle that is equal to 75.1 and continues to increase to 78.8 in cycle II.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul penyusunan RPP tematik-integratif berbasis character building yang layak dan efektif diterapkan sebagai bahan belajar mandiri bagi guru sekolah dasar. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengacu pada langkah yang dikembangkan oleh Borg Gall yang terdiri dari 10 langkah. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah guru-guru kelas sekolah dasar di Gugus II Kecamatan Bambanglipuro Bantul, baik yang belum mengikuti pelatihan Kurikulum 2013 maupun yang sudah pernah. Jumlah subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah 2 orang guru untuk uji lapangan terbatas, 10 orang guru untuk uji coba lapangan utama, dan 36 orang guru untuk uji coba lapangan operasional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan anekdot. Teknik ana- lisis data menggunakan paired sample test dan independent sample t-test dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul layak digunakan menurut penilaian ahli materi, ahli media, dan subjek uji coba pada uji coba lapangan terbatas, uji coba lapangan utama, dan uji coba lapangan operasional. Modul juga efektif digunakan sebagai bahan belajar mandiri, baik dari segi pemahaman maupun penerapan. Kata Kunci: modul, RPP, tematik-integratif, character building, belajar mandiri THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MODULE FOR WRITING THEMATIC-INTEGRATIVE LESSON PLANS BASED ON CHARACTER BUILDING AS A LEARNING MATERIAL FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS Abstract: This research aimed at developing a module for writing thematic-integrative lesson plans based on character building appropriate and effective to be applied as an independent learning material for elementary school teachers. This research and development referred to the 10-step procedure developed by Borg Gall. The subjects of the try-out in this research were classroom elementary school teachers of Gugus II in District of Bambanglipuro Bantul, both who had joined the 2013 Curriculum training and who had not, consisting of 2 teachers for the limited try-out, 10 teachers for the main field try-out, and 36 teachers for the operational field try-out. The data collection instruments were questionnaires and anecdotes. The data analysis used the techniques of paired sample test and independent sample t-test with the significance values of 0,05. The results showed that the module was appropriate for use, according to the materials expert, the media expert, and the subjects of limited, main and operational try-outs. The module was also effective for use as teachers’ independent learning materials, both for understanding or application. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk multimedia pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris materi functional text dengan pendekatan komunikatif yang layak bagi siswa kelas VII SMP N 3 Kalasan Yogyakarta, serta mengetahui keefektifan produk multimedia pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan pendekatan komunikatif yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development, RD). Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) menghasilkan produk multimedia pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris materi functional text dengan pendekatan komunikatif yang layak bagi siswa kelas VII SMP yang dikemas dalam sebuah CD. Produk yang dihasilkan layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran berdasarkan validasi ahli materi, ahli media, dan siswa. (2) Produk multimedia pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan pendekatan komunikatif bagi siswa kelas VII SMP N 3 Kalasan ini efektif untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran materi functional text. Peningkatan skor postes siswa setelah menggunakan produk multimedia pembelajaran bahasa Inggris sebesar 64.5% dengan nilai (N-gain) 0.74 dan ketuntasan belajar siswa (KKM) sebesar 93.5%. Sedangkan kelas sebelum menggunakan produk multimedia pembelajaran bahasa Inggris memiliki nilai (N-gain) siswa sebesar 0.33 dan ketuntasan belajar siswa (KKM) sebesar 29.03%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan (1) pengaruh persepsi guru tentang digital natives terhadap motivasi guru memanfaatkan sumber belajar digital (2) pengaruh persepsi guru tentang sumber belajar digital terhadap motivasi guru memanfaatkan sumber belajar digital dan (3) pengaruh persepsi guru tentang digital natives dan persepsi guru tentang sumber belajar digital secara bersama-sama terhadap motivasi guru memanfaatkan sumber belajar digital. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif-korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah guru-guru SMA Regina Pacis Bajawa, SMA Seminari Mataloko dan SMA Negeri 1 Golewa. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah proportional random sampling. Angket yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data disusun menggunakan skala Likert. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi dengan teknik statistik uji t dan uji F dengan taraf signifikaansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan persepsi guru tentang digital natives terhadap motivasi guru memanfaatkan sumber belajar digital. (2) Ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan persepsi guru tentang sumber belajar digital terhadap motivasi guru memanfaatkan sumber belajar digital. (3) Ada pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan, persepsi guru tentang digital natives dan persepsi guru tentang sumber belajar digital secara bersama-sama terhadap motivasi guru memanfaatkan sumber belajar digital. Kata kunci: persepsi, digital natives, sumber belajar digital, motivasiTEACHER’S PERCEPTION OF DIGITAL NATIVES, DIGITAL LEARNING RESOURCES AND MOTIVATION TO UTILIZE DIGITAL LEARNING RESOURCES Abstract This study aims to reveal (1) the influence of teacher's perception of digital natives toward teacher’s motivation to utilize digital learning resources. (2) the influence of teacher's perception of digital learning resources toward teacher’s motivation to utilize digital learning resources and (3) the influence both of teacher's perception of digital natives and digital learning resources toward teacher’s motivation to utilize digital learning resources. This study used the descriptive-correlational quantitative approach. The Population and sample were high school teachers of Regina Pacis Bajawa, SMA Seminari Mataloko and SMA Negeri 1 Golewa. Sampling technique in this research was proportional random sampling. A questionnaire was used to obtain the data. The data were analyzed using the Likert scale. The instrument was developed based on lattice theory of assessment instruments relevant to the study variables. The analysis technique used is a regression followed by statistic technique of t test and F test with the significance level of 0.05. The results are as follows. (1) There is a positive and significant influence of teacher's perception of digital natives toward teacher’s motivation to utilize digital learning resources. (2) There is a positive and significant influence of teacher's perception of digital learning resources and teacher’s motivation to utilize digital learning resources. (3) There is a positive and significant influence both of teacher's perception of digital learning resources and teacher’s motivation to utilize digital learning resources.
