Jurnal Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial or Journal of Social Welfare (JIKS) is an academic journal on social welfare issues. Abstract

This article discusses about the process of community development included in planning, program implementation, and evaluation of behavior change program in women community in child feeding. The application of these processes were based on the result of community problems, needs, and capitals through participatory planning. It mapped on quality of life assessment scheme which related on malnourished children of 6-24 months old in urban poor families. This research conducted by action research method which based on analysis result of look 1 phase. This article discusses about think, act, and look 2 phases. Think phase describes planning process included formulating the aim, strategy, and intervention program. Act phase describes the implementation of social marketing program. Look 2 phase describes the results of community behavior change in 3 (three) behavior variations, i.e. continued adoption, process of adoption, and continued rejection related to the supporting and inhibiting factors within them.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the achievements of the Urban Life Skills Education program by course institutions bridal makeup and analyze the factors that affect achievement Urban Life Skills Education program by institutions bridal makeup courses in South Tangerang city administration. Quantitative research approach is by using chi-square method. Results showed successful achievement by demonstrating the value of 95% for South Tangerang City. While the success of Makeup Bridal based Graduates Competency Standards reached 73.3% Factors that affect the achievement of program Life Skills Education Urban by course institutions bridal makeup in South Tangerang City among others Competency Standards Graduates Makeup Bride Junior and teaching and learning Non-formal Education by Life Skills Education that includes: theory, practice and education of character.

Abstract

This research deals with A Role of CSR Programs in Reducing Corporate Social Conflict in Mining Industry (A Study in PT. RAYA, Sumatera Utara). This research was conducted on qualitative approach. The data is obtained by literary studies, interviews and observation. Analysis started with describing motivations and conditions of CSR of PT. RAYA since the beginning until the conflicts appeared. Then, the research was trying to look for the CSR implementation strategy, especially as extractive company which undergo conflict with local people and the obstacles that were found by the company as long as they were implementing their CSR, as an interest conflict belong to miners without permissions, negative stigma from the people also intervention and provocation gotten by program receivers.

Abstract

This research depict a new paradigm of elderly. All this time, the elderly have been thouht as an unproductive age group, dependent to the family, consumptive, used up of the health budget, and useless jugment in the community. However, the existing of the BKL IMPALA group in the community indicates that the elderly in the BKL IMPALA group as an asset or potential human resources to participate in the development of RW 04 Pancoran, and they are not family’s or development’s burden. The result of this research that the elderly have been health, and active in every BKL IMPALA’s or community’s activity. Their activities have been shown in every activity that held by BKL IMPALA and they are to become motivator in every activity. They always give an very good idea to the RW 04 development. For BKL IMPALA group, it is better to keep giving opportunity to the elderly to be active in the all activities in the community. For further research can be done by focusing on how the elderly that are an asset for the development can generate the good values or wisdoms to the youth as an further generation in RW 04 Pancoran, South Jakarta.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship basically is not an easy matter. Despite of the challenges, organizations of both government and non-governmental organizations have developed entrepreneurial development activities. As a non-governmental organization, profit-oriented PT “X” also plays a role in the process of entrepreneurship development by undertaking financing activities to micro enterprises. This article describes the efforts of PT “X” as a Non-Bank Company that implements the implementation of credit loan and return in UMKM. Based on qualitative research, the research result showed that PT “X” as a company has potential because it can give positive contribution to the development of UMKM in Indonesia. However, in its implementation, PT “X” still used a minimalist approach. The micro and capital goods financing activities that have been partially and have not been integrated continuously in rolling out micro credit financing program for UMKM. It coused many contradictions between the financing that is carried out by the company with community assistance efforts that should be done in the process of developing UMKM.

Abstract

Domestic violence is a delicate matter in our society. Many efforts have been made by many institutions to decrease the violence that continues to increase every year. One of them is a prevention effort through a Men Care program that presents the male-engagement. Therefore, this study specifically describes the Men Care program implemented by Yayasan PULIH in Jakarta. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach. The results is to describe the forms of male-engagement including advantages and disadvantages faced by Yayasan PULIH in disseminating those issue, as well as strategies undertaken to attract the public participation into the program.

Abstract

This thesis reveals the development of micro, small and medium local food entreprise. Furthermore, this descriptive research uses a qualitative approach. The result of this research show that ODNR action has encouraged the appearance of UMKM in a culinary sector and it also provided local food – non rice and non wheat. The roles of UMKM in a ODNR action is producing, supplying, distributing, marketing local food, conducting inovation, socializing ODNR action, creating new UMKM and job vacancies. Things supporting the development of UMKM are place, equipment, capital, human resources, skills, raw materials, and ODNR action itself. On the other hand, there are some factor that inhibit its development, such as the alteration of human resources and setting of working time, lack of creativity, lack of knowledge and scarcity of raw materials.

Abstract

HIV-infected children have a longer life expectancy after the invention of antiretroviral treatment. Therefore, a well-prepared HIV status disclosure become a significant issue for children living with HIV/AIDS (CLWHA). Previous studies have shown that disclosing a status of children with chronic illness helps them to cope with the illness. However, delayed disclosure for various reasons which often influenced by parents or caregivers consideration affect children’s psychosocial condition. This paper will illustrate the psychosocial condition of CLWHA in relation to the preparation of their disclosure process.This descriptive study used a qualitative approach with observations, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussion on CLWHA and their parents/caregivers.Not all disclosed CLWHA has a good psychosocial function. The disclosure are affected by the process and the disclosure level. A HIV disclosed child of HIV positive parents has better psychosocial conditions than a child whose disclose are prepared by a pediatrician or than those who partially disclosed by themselves.Disclosing HIV/AIDS status has significantly affected the psychosocial condition of CLWHA. Therefore, it needs to be carefully well planned and well prepared by taking into account the condition of ADHAs and their caregivers to avoid involuntary disclosure.The government needs to formulate policies on disclosure process for CLWHA to maintain the psychosocial condition of the children so that their quality of life can be better increased.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the subordination and marginalization of ex-commercial sex workers in Indramayu District. This qualitative research was conducted through in-depth interview and observation on 5 (five) interesting case studies whose data, then, was triangulated to ensure the valid-ity and reliability of the data. The results of the study showed that there were gender discrimination in the form of subordination and marginalization in education and employment which are applied at different periods, i.e.: before and after they worked as prostitutes. Hence, it is then caused them relapse working as prostitutes without any other opportunity to get more normative jobs.

Abstract

Applied behavior analysis was a method of healing autistic that have not known by the Indonesian. Meanwhile, ABA was effective and efficient in reducing the behavior of disruptive which shown in autistic. Then, the benefit of ABA was taught in a systematic, structured, and measurable. This the-sis descrubed the training process of autism therapy that carried out in prison class 1 Tangerang, the instructor was inmates X. This research used qualitative approach by using depth-interview to the informants that consist of instructor, prison officers, and trainee. The is training including the three steps. Those were pre training, whils training, and post training, the most interesting activity was post training, that is doing a comparative study to the clinic ABA, practice and written exam. Although the training has ended the monitoring still done by the instructor.
