Abstract

This study aims to analyze the income and financial feasibility of the palm sugar business in Bonto Katute Village, Sinjai Borong District. The research method used was a survey with a quantitative approach. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, consisting of 47 palm sugar farmers who already possess a Halal Certificate. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, while the financial feasibility was analyzed using the Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C) indicator. The results of the study show that the average net income received by palm sugar farmers is IDR 2,506,154 per month. Based on the feasibility analysis, this business obtained an R/C Ratio value of 2.37. This value indicates that for every IDR 1 of cost incurred, it generates a revenue of IDR 2.37. Therefore, it can be concluded that the palm sugar business in Bonto Katute Village is highly feasible to be pursued and developed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors influencing turmeric farming, as well as the income and feasibility level of turmeric farming in Botolempangan Village, West Sinjai District, Sinjai Regency. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a puRp.osive sampling method involving 45 turmeric farmers as respondents. Data were analyzed using SPSS to examine the factors affecting farm income, namely X1 (land area), X2 (labor), X3 (production cost), X4 (capital), X5 (selling price), and Y (income). Furthermore, production cost, revenue, income, and feasibility analysis using the R/C ratio were calculated. The results showed that land area, capital, and selling price significantly affected turmeric farmers’ income, with an average revenue of IDR 3,512,222 per planting season and an average production cost of IDR 347,505. Thus, the average income obtained by farmers was IDR 3,164,171 per planting season. The feasibility analysis revealed an R/C ratio of 10.84, indicating that turmeric farming in Botolempangan Village is feasible to cultivate since the R/C ratio > 1.

Abstract

The efficiency of shallot farming is influenced by input management and increases in production factor prices. This study aims to analyze the effect of input use (land, labor, seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides) on production and measure the level of technical efficiency of farmers. A survey method was used with 40 respondents in Sumbersewu Village, Muncar District, analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas production function and the Stochastic Production Frontier approach. The results showed that production was significantly influenced by land area, organic fertilizer, labor, NPK fertilizer, and insecticides. In contrast, seeds, SP36 fertilizer, KCL, and herbicides did not have a significant effect. The average level of technical efficiency of farmers reached 89.98%, indicating that there is still an opportunity to increase production by 10.02% through input optimization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing channels and the level of marketing efficiency of tuna floss products at UMKM Rubons, located in Kelurahan Lappa, Sinjai Utara District. The method used is descriptive quantitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained through interviews, questionnaires, and direct observations with the business owner and distributor. The results show that UMKM Rubons uses two types of marketing channels: direct and indirect. The direct channel provides greater profits to producers because it involves no intermediaries, while the indirect channel offers a broader marketing efficiency value (EP) of 4.44% indicates that the marketing channels used are highly efficient, as the value is below the 50% threshold. The main obstacle faced is the low interest from consumers ang the lack of promotional strategies.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the socio-economic factors affecting the income of horticultural farmers in East Java. The independent variables included selling price, production costs, land area, and credit access. Data were collected from two horticultural centers, namely Wonomulyo Village (Malang Regency) and Ngadirejo Village (Pasuruan Regency), with 160 farmers selected purposively as respondents. Data were gathered through interviews using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed an adjusted R² value of 0.849, meaning that the four independent variables explained 84.9% of the dependent variable (income), while the remaining 15.1% was explained by other variables outside the model. Among the four variables, land area had a significant and positive effect on income. The regression coefficient for land area was 4.317, indicating that the larger the cultivated land, the higher the horticultural farming income in East Java. Thus, increasing farmers' income is largely determined by land area, in addition to selling price, production costs, and credit access, which also contribute simultaneously.

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors affecting the export volume of Indonesian edamame to Timor-Leste during the 2013–2022 period. The independent variables include Indonesian edamame production volume, Timor-Leste's GDP, international edamame prices, and the rupiah-to-US dollar exchange rate. Secondary time-series data were obtained from TradeMap, the World Bank, FAO, and Bank Indonesia, and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 20. The partial test results show that production volume, Timor-Leste's GDP, and international prices do not significantly affect export volume. In contrast, the exchange rate has a positive and significant effect (at α = 10%), where rupiah depreciation enhances product competitiveness, thereby increasing exports. Simultaneously, all four variables explain 80.4% of the variation in export volume. These findings indicate that exchange rate stabilization policies and market diversification strategies need to be strengthened to improve edamame export performance to Timor-Leste.

Abstract

Globalization that is growing rapidly throughout the world causes changes in student consumptive behavior, especially in buying drinks at coffee shops. The emergence of a person's consumptive behavior is usually also associated with a hedonistic lifestyle and financial literacy. This study aims to analyze the relationship between hedonic lifestyle and financial literacy with consumptive behavior of students in buying drinks at coffee shops. Determination of the sample in this study using a non-probability sampling approach with purposive sampling method with a total sample of 322 respondents. The hypothesis testing method used is multiple linear regression and Pearson product moment correlation with the help of the IBM SPSS 26 program. The results show that the hedonic lifestyle has a positive direction and a very strong relationship with consumptive behavior, while financial literacy has a negative direction and weak relationship with consumptive behavior.
