Abstract

Abstract Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease directly caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Germs will grow optimally at temperatures around 37 ° C according to the normal temperature of the human body, tuberculosis bacilli survive for months at room temperature and in a dark and damp, and die quickly in direct sunlight. This study aims to describe the behavior of patients with positive pulmonary TB in preventing transmission of TB to families in District Pandan Central Tapanuli 2012. Type of study design is a descriptive survey method. The study population was all patients with positive pulmonary TB in Pandan districts and as many as 138 people sampled 58 respondents drawn by simple random sampling. Data were obtained through interviews using a questionnaire and analyzed by univariate, presented in frequency distribution. Research results showed that based on the characteristics of the respondents obtained most aged> 30 years 40 people (69.0%), male Sex in 38 people (69.0%), level of education high school 30 people (51.7%), not worked a total of 35 people (60.3%). Knowledge of respondents in the category of either the 36 people (62.1%), attitude of the respondents in both categories is 54 people (93.1%). Measures most respondents in this category is less than 56 people (96.6%). Expected for health workers to provide health services effectively and efficiently, the importance of prevention of Tuberculosis information on the family

Abstract

ABSTRACK Lactation management is all that is needed to support successful breastfeeding so the baby can be fed properly. The goal of management is to increase the use of exclusive breastfeeding until the baby is 6 months old, with affection facilities. lactation Management begins during pregnancy (antenatal), immediately after birth (prenatal) and the postpartum period (post-natal). This research aims to determine the behavior of pregnant women in lactation management for the success of giving exclusive breastfeeding in the workplace of Health Center,Padang Bulan Medan. This research is a quantitative study that belongs to descriptive survey. The population in this study are pregnant women who visited the health center in Padang Bulan on August 2012, amounting to 39 people. The research sample is the entire population. Based on the results obtained that as many as 79.5% of pregnant women have moderate knowledge, also 79.5% have moderate attitude and 79.5% of them have moderate action aswell. In accordance with the results above, it is recommended that pregnant women  to further enhance the knowledge of lactation management. Health care workers should also be able to provide better service by providing lactation management information during antenatal care. The Department of Health is also expected to have to devise  a lactation management program in a structured, and train the health workers in the management of lactation and oversee its implementation in the field.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The implementation of the planning to health centers in Medan is guided by the Standard Manual for Health Center. The main purpose of planning to helth center is to prevent any problems on public health, it shall be due to public health, the effort to health development or for supporting to public health. In addition, it aims to improve performance of health center in arranging the annual activities with plans for health center capable to do activities efficiently, effectively and shall be accountable. This research was a survey with qualitative approach witch was aimed to explain how the planning of the health centers in Medan for 2012. The primary data were collected by thorough interviews, and the secondary data were obtained from the health service Medan. The informants to this research comprised of 10 persons, one head of program and planning of the city health service in Medan, three head of health centers (Health centers of Glugur Darat, Kampung Baru, and Kedai Durian), and ten staff for health centers. The result of the research showed that all the informants had known the planning of the health centers in Medan city. The health centers in Medan was do or arrange it well with term POA (Plan Of Action) that has been done routinely annually. For 2012, there is not done yet any special training about the planning, it is shortage of fund reasonable, the health centers mostly aware the points of planning to execute and fortunately in generally according to four phases, such as pre-planning, analysis on situation, arrange the plan of activity and arrange the plan of implementation. For all the phases has been done properly. It is encouraged to all Health Centers available on Medan city more passionateto havea better official planning and do it optimally based on the problems dealth with as usual and also to improve the human resources available. Abstract

ABSTRACT Children under five years old are vulnerable to health problems, such as diarrhea. The problem of diarrhea is about dehydration; therefore, one of the ways how to handle it is by an early stage of handling in order to prevent dehydration. The type of the research was descriptive quantitative. The population was 185 mothers who had under-five year old children, lived at Kelurahan Tegal Sari Mandala III, and had taken their children to Tegal Sari Puskesmas in the period of one year. 50 of them were used as the samples, using simple random sampling technique. The result of the research showed the description of the respondents’ characteristics as follows: the majority (52%) of the respondents is 25 to 34 years of age, was graduated from Junior High School (36%), most of them are  working mother (46%), and most of them had lees than three children (46%). According to the respondents, the most effective information about the early handling of diarrhea was from television (68%). The knowledge of the respondents was in the moderate category (64%).  The attitude of the respondents which belonged to the moderate category was (70%).The action of the respondents which belonged to the insufficient category was (66%). It is recommended that health workers at Tegal Sari Puskesmas and the agencies related to it should provide counseling and socialization properly with the message understood by the public about the early handling of diarrhea in order to prevent children under five years old from dehydration.

Abstract

Abstract Implementation of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Method in Determining the Effects of Satisfaction, Trust, and Quality towards Out Patients’ Loyalty  Using Hospital Services at Dr.Pirngadi Local General Hospital Medan in 2012. SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) is a statistical technique that can analyze a relationship pattern between a latent construct and its indicators, another latent construct with the other latent constructs, and a direct incorrect measurement. SEM is a statistical techniques that can test a series of relationships simultaneously. In this research a series of simultaneous relationship - satisfaction, trust, quality, and patient’s loyalty is conducted. Patients are the most important persons in the hospital, both as the consumers of the medical services and as the hospital products. The patient’s loyalty is not formed in a short time, but it is based on the patient’s own experience from the consistent and repeated uses of hospital. The purposes of this research are to analyze the effects of satisfaction, trust, and the quality of services towards the patients by using the SEM at Dr. Pirngadi  Hospital Medan in 2012. The results of the research show that the variable of service quality influences the patient’s satisfaction (p=0,001), quality influences the trust (p=0,001), quality influences the loyalty (p=0,032), the satisfaction influences the loyalty (p=0,014) and trust influences the  loyalty (p=0,004). The data with Fit model based on Goodness-of Fit Index criteria result in the Chi-Square evaluation 190,011, the significant level 0,073 and the value of RMSEA (0,026), GFI (0,935), AGFI (0,899), CMIN/df (1,166), TLI (0,984), and CFI (0,989). There is an indirect effect of quality services on loyalty through the satisfaction and trust variables that they are both called interference variables.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hospital Information System is an important component in making efforts to improve the quality of health services at the hospital. In Padangsidimpuan General Hospital patient records was done manually, so that it was still encountered weakness, especially in in-patients registration. Therefore, to handle it is needed the development of in-patients registration system by using computer technology. The aim of in-patients registration system development in Padangsidimpuan General Hospital are to facilitate and improve the accuracy of in-patients registration in this hospital. The development of this system used System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method. Stages of this process were planning, analysis, design, and implementation has been done only on trial, meanwhile use phase was not made. Results of in-patients registration system development consists of three sub-systems, namely input sub system (patient’s identity data, doctor’s identity data, medical record officer data, room’s data, and diagnosis data), process sub system (data processing program), and output sub system (report of admission patients per day, report of discharge patients per day, report of patients per month, report of patients per year, and report of number of diseases per year). In-patients registration system makes in-patients registration of hospital easier and informing about physician, availability of ward, and room where patient’s treated. Hopefully, Padangsidimpuan General Hospital disposed to use and prepares facilities and infrastructures to support this system.

Abstract

ABSTRACTExcellent service is a service that satisfies customer, a service that overshots service standard or equal to standard, and a best service. This research aims to see the description of behavior of the health officers to the excellence service in Puskesmas Tomuan in 2012.This research is descriptive with quantitative approach. The results were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively described as a percentage. Number of samples to be interviewed were 25 respondents.Results showed most respondents are female as much as 92,0%. The majority of repondents’ age are 31-36 years old. Most respondents’ education are D3 and the majority of respondents work for 1-4, 5-8, and 17-20 years each as much as 24,0%. The knowledge of health officers are moderate category as much as 76,0%. The attitudes of health officers are good category as much as 96,0% and the action of all health officers are good.Expected to puskesmas management need by undertaking been increased management which well to equipment and available facility at puskesmas. Besides on duty local health needs to arrange training and excellence service socialization to puskesmas officer to upgrade service to puskesmas visitor.

Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the main demography issues in Indonesia is a higher growth rate of population. Nowadays, there are any efforts to control the growth rate of the population through the control of birth rate or fertility by using contraception involuntary by the fertile spouse. This research is a survey by Explanatory research approach to study the determinant influence the implementation of family planning (KB) program.. Population in this research is all of fertile spouse while the number of sample is 94 respondents. The data analysis applied in this research is logistic regression test on confidential level 95 %. The results of research indicates that there is influence of the society value (p=0,017), resource availibility  (p=0,000), the trust to family planning (KB) service (p=0,031) to the utilization of KB program while variable that has not influence is educational level, occupation, earning, perception, and attitude of the official. It is suggested to anyone who serve the family planning (KB) provide the society with extension proactively especially to the fertile spouse to enable them understand the advantages of family planning (KB) program, the side effect of the contraception tools and to change the society paradigm to the value available in society to make them trust and use KB program

Abstract

ABSTRACT Malaria is one of transmitted diseases and as the problem for the society. The most effective prevention to malaria is by involving the society through the found is regarding lack of participation of the society in the implementation of malaria management activity. The objective of this research is to know the relationship of the characteristics with action of the mothers in the prevention of malaria in Sorik Village, Batang Angkol sub-district, South Tapanuli regency. This research was analytic with cross sectional approach. The population was all household women residing in Sorik Village, Batang Angkol sub-district for 77 persons. The data of the characteristis (age, education, accupation), knowledge, attitude and action were obtained through interview using questionnaire. The collected data was then analyzed with Chi-Square with α = 0.05. The results of research showed that statistically, the variable of education (p value = 0.032), knowledge (p value = 0.000) and attitude (p value = 0.000) had significant influence to age and status did not have significant influence to the action in the prevention of malaria disease. It is suggested for health providers in Community Health Centre to give information about malaria for the society. The information should not be given only through interview or leaflet distribution, but also in real action such as mutually working to get real advantages form the information.

Abstract

Abstract Jampersal is an effort that launched by Ministry of Health in order to accelerate the decrease on maternal mortality rate in Indonesia. Binjai District Health Office data shows that the willingness of midwives in private practice in Binjai to be a provider of Jampersal still very low. The type of research was survey with explanatory research that aimed to explain the perception of midwives in private practice on Jampersal (perception of packages, perception of procedures and perception of tariff) against the will of midwives to become the provider of Jampersal in Binjai in 2012. Population were all practicing midwives registered in Binjai District Health Office, as many as 111 people and the establishment of the study sample with simple random sampling. Analysis of the test data used is multiple linear regression with 95% confidence level. The results of the research through multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the variables that influence on the willingness of midwives to be a provider of Jampersal were perception of packets (p < 0.001), the perception of the procedure (p < 0.001) and the perception of tariff (p < 0.001). Tested of three variables, no variable has no effect. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested to the Binjai District Health Officer to improve Jampersal socialization to private practice midwives to enhance their knowledge of the Jampersal so that midwives are not just looking at the Jampersal from previous programs. So that the awareness and willingness of the midwives to be a provider of Jampersal increases.
