Abstract

The total reformation which has been underway in Indonesia has touched politics, economy, law, but education, which is the essential matter in human life. Prior to education reformation, there should be a philosophical reflection which discusses the life principles of Indonesian people. This means that reformation as the change of Indonesians’ behaviors should be based on the basic nature of Indonesians as human beings with dignity. Education reformation is urgently required since life changes very fast, particularly in science, technology, and information. Reformation must consider the basic values and Proclamation ideals which have been established by the founding fathers.

Abstract

This research was designed to explore the effects of extrinsic and intrinsic factors on violence. A structural equation model (SEM) was applied for analyzing more comprehensive and integrative determinant factors of violence, which involved 589 subjects (280 male and 309 female) of public school students in South Sulawesi. Extrinsic factors included violence experience, parenting, and parent education, while intrinsic factors included students’ temperament and self-concept. The research found that there was a positive correlation between violence’ experience with violence, and between authoritarian and permissive parenting with violence. There was a significant negative correlation between authoritative parenting with violence, between temperament with violence, and between self-concept and violence. There was significant difference of violence behavior between male and female student. The male student is higher than female student.

Abstract

Democratic Philosophy of Education as Education Foundation for the New Indonesian Society. Philosophy of education is a study of general theoretical foundations of the nature, aims, and methods of education. As a multi-religion and a multicultural society, Indonesia should develop a democratic philosophy of education. A strategy to develop such a philosophy of education can be based on a synthesis combining global-progressive education and Indonesian local-modern style values. While the former emphasizes education as an instrument for social reform to achieve a democratic society, the latter can be based on religions, faiths, cultural beliefs, and state-ideology-based values.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of giving recitation tests on learning achievement of senior high school students. One control and two experiment classes were involved, respectively given no test, 6 and 4 recitation tests. Results of variant analysis and t-test indicate that students' learning achievement is greatly influenced by the recitation test, but tes frequency yields no significant difference.

Abstract

Developing Profesi Keguruan Learning Design with Kulsponsi in Higher Education. The study was intended to develop a learning design in Profesi Keguruan with kulsponsi in highereducation, especially to improve attention, activity, and comprehension of students in learning. An action research approach was used in this study. The subjects were students following Profesi Keguruan course offering. The results showed that kulsponsi design can improve the attention, activity, and comprehension of the students.

Abstract

Domestic violence gives influence on students' morality. This study aims to describe students' knowledge of and attitudes toward domestic violence. The data collected from 250 students of primary schools, 150 of junior high school, and 100 of senior high schools indicate that domestic violence make children feel inferior, scared, lazy, and doubtful. When finding such violence, they would report it to neighbors, policeman, or relatives. Children's moral education can be developed in the family education basis

Abstract

 Penguasaan lebih dari satu bahasa mengakibatkan terjadinya interferensi di antara bahasa tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya interferensi bahasa Indonesia terhadap penguasaan belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa SD. Data dikumpulkan dari 33 orang siswa kelas 4 SD Bendogerit VI Blitar melalui lembar kerja tes bahasa Inggris yang diolah secara naratif-deskriptif kualitatif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa interferensi morfologis bahasa Inggris hanya ditemukan pada proses morfologis reduplikasi, sedangkan interferensi sintaksis dapat diidentifikasi dengan ketidakhadiran to be (is, are), ketidakhadiran artikel, dan keterbalikan pada susunan kata keterangan dalam tata kalimat bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This desciptive-correlational research was designed to describe community participation in the school-public relation programs. It collected data from elementary schools in Malang Municipality by using questionnaire and documentation, and then analyzed statistically by percentage, product moment correlation, and t-test. It was found out that community participation in the school-public relation programs was high, and that the programs were effective. The program effectiveness was related to the community participation. There were differences in the level of community participation and in the program effectiveness among the elementary schools.

Abstract

The Implementation of Dual System of Education by Civil Department of Secondary School of Technology at Construction Business. To Civil Department of Secondary School of Technology, the implementation of the dual system of education (PSG) is intended to utilize the business potentials in optimalizing the students’ potentials. This descriptive-evaluative study was designed to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PSG, and the obstacles in implementing the program. The subjects were 20 teacher-advisors, 30 instructors, and 60 students, who were randomly sampled from the population in East Java. The results of qualitative and quantitative data analysis showed that the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PSG were not satisfactory yet. One of the obstacles was the limited equipment and material for practical work.

Abstract

This study focused on developing media for teaching badminton intended to better students’ lobs and smashes. It involved 10 out of 34 students of Physical Education Department of State University of Malang. The development went through the stages of need analysis, media design, review by experts, media production, reviews and revision of the product, product trial, product revision, and final production. The study resulted in the teaching media in the forms of handles used to move shuttlecocks and support poles.
