Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan paket permainan simulasi bimbingan belajar (PPSBB) dan menguji secara empirik keefektifan PPSBB sebagai teknik bimbingan belajar untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan observasi dan tes sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif, kuantitatif (persentase), dan analisis kecenderungan dengan uji rerata. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa PPSBB yang dikembangkan menurut model Heinich dengan isi lima indikator motivasi belajar Anderson dan kawan-kawan, dan strategi pelaksanaan berdasarkan teori behavioristik-motivasi dan operant conditioning dapat digunakan sebagai teknik bimbingan belajar untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa SLTP.

Abstract

This collaborative action research aimed at increasing teachers' reflective teaching through the use of mutual observation and conference among critical friends, and the writing of teaching journal. It consisted of two cycles and involved two lecturers, two senior teachers, and one junior teacher. In cycle one, mutual observation followed with conference among critical friends resulted in the teachers' more reflective attitude about their teaching performance and better relationship between senior and junior teachers. Though considered to be beneficial, mutual observation needed deeply rooted trust among colleauges that needed long time to grow and neatly arranged teaching schedule. Therefore, in the second cycle, the writing of teaching journal, which then was discussed among critical friends, was taken as alternative.

Abstract

Paulo Freire’s problem-posing education is an idea or a concept in which the development of students’ consciousness towards self-realities and their environments enables them to adopt critical and creative attitudes. The concept implies that teaching-learning process should emphasize a dialectical-emancipatory method and a curriculum involving students’ daily-life realities. While it bears a positive dimension of developing students' critical and creative thinking, the concept also has the negative dimension as it can be utopian. Nevertheless, problem-posing education is relevant to Indonesian education since it provides possible solutions to structural problems faced by Indonesian people.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of muscular endurance traning on the arms of male students. Employing a pre and post test control group design, this study involved 16 junior high school students, assigned to pull the pulley as many times as possible. It was found that two models of muscular endurance training implemented in this study did not differ significantly although one model improved the muscular endurance more than the other.

Abstract

The Relationship between Ability to Perform Formal Operations of Piaget and Fifth Graders Achievement in Science. The purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between the ability to perform formal operations of Piaget and achievement in science. A number of 598 fifth graders of 12 elementary schools were involved. Interview and test were used to collect the data, which were then analyzed using statistics of percentages, correlation analyses, and multiple regression. The results indicate that girls are proportionally more able to perform formal operations than boys and that the ability has positive relationship to students' achievement in science.

Abstract

The descriptive survey is intended to measure the General Motor Ability (GMA) of soccer school students. Involving 227 junior high school students, the study employed GMA test consisting of test in standing broad jump, zigzag run, and medicine ball put. Test results were analyzed using Barrow's T-score, resulting in the findings that overall 17% of the students were categorized as good players, 71% as average, and 12% as poor.

Abstract

Menjadikan bangsa beradab dimulai dari pemberian pendidikan budi pekerti kepada anak sejak dini, karena sikap positif atau negatif seorang anak tergantung pada pendidikan dari orangtua dan lingkungan. Pendidikan budi pekerti adalah pendidikan yang menyokong perkembangan hidup individu, lahir dan batin, dari sifat kodratinya menuju ke arah peradaban dalam sifatnya yang umum. Oleh karena itu seharusnya disediakan lingkungan yang positif dan sehat bagi pertumbuh-kembangan anak, baik di rumah maupun di sekolah. Penyediaan lingkungan sekolah yang kondusif merupakan tanggung jawab kepala sekolah, guru, dan konselor. Dalam pelayanan bimbingan, pendidikan budi pekerti termasuk dalam bidang bimbingan pribadi-sosial.

Abstract

Predictability of the National Final Examination Score in Secondary Schools and intelligence quotient to Students' Achievement in Senior High Schools. The aim of this study was to determine the ability of the Ebtanas score (NEM) and intelligence quotient (IQ) to predict students achievement in Senior High Schools. The data were obtained from the existing documents of the public SMUs in Surakarta Municipality, and were then analyzed by regression technique. The result showed that the NEM could be used to predict students achievement in Senior High Schools, whereas the IQ couldnot. The NEM seemed to be considered as an entry behavior and prerequisite for higher learning. Therefore, it could be suggested that the selection of students should be based on the NEM obtained from the lower level of education rather than on students' IQ.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan hal-hal yang mendasari upaya guru dalam mengembangkan dan menerapkan model pembelajaran IPS yang menggunakan masyarakat sebagai sumber belajar. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, pengumpulan data dilakukan terhadap subjek penelitian yang berjumlah dua orang guru SD Kelas V di wilayah Dayeuhkolot Bandung. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran IPS yang menggunakan masyarakat sebagai sumber belajar dapat menjadi aset penting dalam membina murid dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, penguasaan bahan, pemberian pengalaman langsung dan nyata, melatih dasar-dasar kegiatan ilmiah sederhana, serta mengembangkan aspek nilai, sikap dan moral yang dibutuhkan untuk membina kepribadian siswa.

Abstract

This research studied sound and imagination aspects in Balada Orang-Orang Tercinta by Rendra and its learning implication for language program in high schools. The study used descriptive research design and data were analyzed using content analysis. The result showed that there were 566 sound aspects which included 37 aliteration, 55 assonantion, 211 ephony, 208 cacophony , 35 anaphor, and no onomatopoeiac aspect was found. Dealing with imagination aspects, there were 485 aspects with various frequency of appereance, which included 208 aspects related to sight, 82 to hearing, 43 to feeling, 17 to taste, 7 to smell, and 128 to physical movements. This finding showed the necessity to focus attention when learning how to analyze poems.
