Abstract

Customs and Manners Education at Keraton Surakarta (Surakarta Kingdom). Keraton Kasunanan and Kadipaten Mangkunegaran are genealogically of Kerajaan Mataram (Mataram Kingdom), which enforces customs and manners education for monarchic life. The customs and manners which are currently implemented refer to the ones established by Pakubuwana X and Mangkunegara VII and are reflected in arts, behaviors, language, and art of clothing under the sovereignty of Pakubuwana XII and Mangkunegara IX.

Abstract

Pendidikan seni rupa merupakan pendidikan tentang kepedulian dan kecintaan kepada seni rupa, yang memiliki nilai estetis dan mengacu kepada kondisi kreatif. Pendidikan merupakan perluasan inteligensi yang berarti meningkatkan kapasitas pengalaman. Dalam dunia kognitif, seni dapat memancing timbulnya kemampuan kreatif. Kegiatan mencipta dan tanggapan membutuhkan kreasi dan pengalaman estetis. Nilai estetika berhubungan dengan kaidah keindahan. Proses pelatihan berkarya kreatif dan pengamatan objek keindahan akan membantu pengembangan pendidikan seni rupa. Kondisi fisik dan psikologis juga memiliki peran dalam proses pengembangan kreativitas dan estetika karena pendidikan seni rupa melibatkan emosi dalam mencapai kristalisasi gagasan kreatif.

Abstract

Improving Students' Ability in English through Non-English Courses. The needs for English felt by the university students are more realistic than those felt by the students at the lower levels of education. Their immediate need for English can be realistic when they have to read English textbooks and other references required in their courses. The lecturers of non-English courses have an important role in making the students' need for English realistic. They can make it realistic by assigning the students to do one or all of the following: read textbooks and references written in English, make a 'clipping' of articles written in English relevant to the topics covered in their courses, write papers in Indonesian based on the references and articles they read, and use English as a medium of instruction partially or fully.

Abstract

Using of handicraft centre as resources of art and handicraft learning can be seen as one of the application of the competency based education curriculum. The handicraft learning can be effective if the learn in the real context, i.e. handicraft centre. Using of handicraft centre as learning resources can facilitate teachers and students in learning, motivate students make relation between knowledge and ordinary application, and give students ways of problem solving.

Abstract

Kualitas sumber daya manusia Indonesia masih rendah. Depnaker sebagai lembaga ketenagakerjaan berupaya mengatasi rendahnya kualitas tenaga kerja melalui pendidikan latihan kerja (ditlatker) keliling. Program ini sangat penting karena target yang diharapkan adalah melahirkan tenaga kerja terampil di pedesaan sesuai dengan karakteristik lingkungan. Bagi Depnaker Tulungagung, penyelenggaraan latihan kerja keliling merupakan tugas berat karena, di samping wilayah sasarannya cukup luas, keberadaannya pun kurang diminati masyarakat. Pedoman penyelenggaraan latihan dan proses pembelajaran di lapangan tidak sesuai dengan kondisi sasaran.

Abstract

Urbanization influences the structure of population and the life style of a group of population called urban migrants. There are interrelationships between urbanization and education. The migrants need educational services while (schooling) education motivates them to migrate to urban areas. Women and children need to be educated through the out-of-school programs. Values educa-tion should be implanted so that they will be aware that their new environments are different from their old ones. A Value Education Center needs to be established. A number of program can be organized to develop the indegenous, national and universal culture values through massmedia and vocational-skill training centers.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah ingin mendeskripsikan latar belakang anak pedagang asongan yang meliputi tingkat pendapatan, tingkat pendidikan dan pendapatan orang tua, usia anak, tingkat pendidikan anak, dan hubungan antara tingkat pendidikan, pendapatan, dan motivasi kerja dan motivasi anak untuk mengikuti pendidikan. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah angket dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif, tata jenjang Spearman, dan kontingensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendapatan anak cukup tinggi. Di samping itu, ada hubungan positif antara tingkat pendidikan, jenis pekerjaan orang tua dan motivasi anak untuk mengikuti pendidikan.

Abstract

Pre-test to 34 first-year students of SMKN 03 Malang showed that they had difficulties in solving mathematical problems of narrative square equations. The aim of this qualitative action research was to describe attempts in carrying out remedial teaching to overcome the students’ difficulties in solving such problems. The teaching process of the research was carried out four times as the research action. The results show that the researcher`s efforts in helping the students deal with questions of narrative square equations were successful, which was indicated by the students’ ability to do the questions correctly and by their responses to the interview.

Abstract

The study aimed at finding out the relationship between cognitive styles, learning motivation, and locus of control and students’ achievement in Mathematics, Physics, Indonesian, English, Economics, and Geography. The subjects of the study were students of public senior high schools in Malang. The data were in forms of scores of tests on cognitive styles, responses about learning motivation and about locus of control, and scores of summative tests. Correlation and multiple regression were employed to analyze the data. The study found out that there was a positive and significant correlation between cognitive styles and achievement, between learning motivation and achievement (but not in Physics, English, and Geography), and between locus of control and achievement. The cognitive-style variable has an effective contributing power in predicting achievement level.

Abstract

This study attempts to find out the problems faced by the faculty of Education State University of Malang in carrying out academic activities. Employing a mixed-methodology design, this study involved students, lecturers, and administrative staff. The data were collected through questionnaires focusing on the planning, implementing, and assessing processes. The findings suggest that there were problems in lecture scheduling, lecture implementation, evaluation system and grade recording.
