Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah in Medan City manages its da'wah efforts in educating teenagers about the dangers of promiscuous behavior. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah Medan applies key functions of da'wah management, including planning programs based on youth needs, organizing through the optimization of autonomous organizations such as IPM, IMM, Pemuda Muhammadiyah, and NA, and mobilizing through training, social activities, and the use of social media. Control is implemented through comprehensive evaluations of program execution, materials, methods, and behavioral changes in youth after participating in da'wah activities. The impact of this da'wah management demonstrates its effectiveness in raising spiritual awareness, strengthening character, and fostering the moral resilience of youth amid the flow of permissive culture and digitalization. This research contributes significantly to the development of participatory da'wah models that can be adopted by other religious organizations in addressing contemporary moral challenges faced by youth.

Abstract

This study examines the strategy of implementing Eco-Pedagogy based on Eco-Theology at Sekolah Alam Insan Rabbani Sungai Penuh to form spiritual, social, and cognitive character. With a qualitative approach to case studies, data is obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data was analysed by thematic analysis through six stages. The results of the research show that Eco-Pedagogy based on Eco-Theology at Sekolah Alam Insan Rabbani (SAIR) Sungai Penuh can shape students' character spiritually, socially, and cognitively through various programs that are integrated with the values of Islamic teachings. The Green Latte program instills the value of responsibility, care, and gratitude to God for His creation; outing class activities enrich the learning experience by making nature and local wisdom a living source of learning; waste management and greening practices train ecological habits as well as ethical awareness; As well as the canteen-free school policy to foster environmental awareness from an early age through the reduction of plastic waste. Thus, the Eco-Pedagogy implementation strategy based on Eco-Theology at SAIR is not only oriented to knowledge transfer, but also forms a generation of khalīfah fil arḍ who have faith, knowledge, and ecological morals according to the mandate of Allah SWT.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Tapak Suci and Japanese language extracurricular activities at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo in developing students' noble character. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The informants included the principal, the Tapak Suci and Japanese language extracurricular teachers, and the students participating in both activities. Data collection techniques included observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model that encompasses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the Tapak Suci extracurricular activities contribute to instilling religious character, discipline, responsibility, hard work, creativity, and caring through physical exercise and Islamic values. Meanwhile, the Japanese language extracurricular activities shape these characters through contextual and culturally oriented learning methods. The implications of this research demonstrate the importance of character building through a participatory, contextual, and comprehensive non-formal approach within the educational environment. The results are to serve as a reference for schools in creating extracurricular activities that effectively and relevantly develop student character in response to current demands.

Abstract

This study aims to describe applying a participatory ubudiyah management model to improve the quality of student worship at the Kyai Syarifuddin Islamic Boarding School, Maqoman Mahmuda Lumajang Dormitory. The research approach used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through participatory observation for 2 months. Interviews are conducted with students, Islamic boarding school administrators, and ustadzah. Document data is a data collection technique. Data analysis is done qualitatively through data reduction, presentation, and verification stages. The results of the study show that the application of the participatory ubudiyah management model in this Islamic boarding school can be seen through three real practical steps, namely joint planning through a deliberation forum between students and ustadzah, habituation of worship with a consistent and structured schedule, and collaborative supervision between ustadzah and students. These three steps not only make students an object of education, but also an active subject who plays a role in maintaining the sustainability and quality of ubudiyah, ultimately strengthening the discipline of their worship. Thus, the participatory ubudiyah education model is relevant to improving the quality of student worship and contributes to enhancing religious character education in Islamic boarding schools as an integral part of Islamic religious education.

Abstract

This study describes and analyzes the strengthening of basic literacy and memorization of the Qur'an for migrant children at the Malaysian Center for Non-Formal Education Teaching and Learning Activities to fulfill non-formal education rights and develop religious values. A qualitative approach with an ethnographic design was used, where the researcher was directly involved in the learning process to understand the students' patterns of interaction, experiences, and social dynamics. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews with students, teachers, and the principal, and documentation of learning activities. These data were then analyzed inductively through data reduction and presentation. The study results showed increased basic literacy skills, including recognizing Latin and Hijaiyah letters, reading, and memorization skills, particularly of Surah Al-'Ashr, using the talaqqi and takrir methods. Reading activities in the context of Islamic education have deep spiritual meaning because they are in harmony. The novelty of this research lies in integrating literacy and memorization into the non-formal education of migrant children, a topic that has not been widely studied. The findings confirm the critical role of the Malaysian Center for Non-Formal Education Teaching and Learning Activities as an alternative institution that supports academic development while shaping students' character and Islamic identity, especially for children who do not receive formal education abroad. In practical terms, the results of this study can guide non-formal educators in designing compelling reading and memorization programs, enabling migrant children to develop their academic abilities and spiritual values optimally.
