Abstract

Teacher leadership is critical in shaping the educational environment and promoting positive change within schools. Teacher leadership fosters educational innovation and creates supportive learning environments. This study investigates the self-perceived leadership qualities of pre-service teachers, focusing on essential domains of teacher leadership, including self-awareness, leading change, communication, diversity, instructional proficiency, continuous improvement, and self-organization. Utilizing a structured survey instrument adopted and adapted from TLSA (Teacher Leadership Self-Assessment) by Katzenmeyer and Moller (2009). Data was gathered from a sample of teacher candidates to assess their competencies in these domains. The teacher candidates were the final-year Primary Teacher Education Program students at Esa Unggul University. The findings indicate varying levels of readiness among the participants. The categorical analysis provides insights into specific areas where future teachers demonstrate potential and highlights domains where further development may be beneficial. This research contributes to the understanding of teacher leadership in the context of teacher preparation programs and underscores the importance of targeted support in nurturing well-rounded teacher leaders. Implications for curriculum adjustments and the integration of leadership training in teacher education programs are discussed.

Abstract

Effective classroom management is essential for successful teaching, particularly in Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL), where structured, engaging environments foster academic achievement and social development. This study explores classroom management strategies, challenges, and adaptive practices employed by TEYL teachers. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with experienced teachers and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings identified rules, routines, and positive reinforcement as key strategies for maintaining order and motivation in classrooms. Teachers also emphasized movement breaks and interactive activities as effective tools to manage diverse energy levels and sustain student engagement. Challenges, such as disruptive behaviors and resource constraints, were addressed through redirection techniques and tailored lesson plans, highlighting the importance of flexibility alongside consistency. Additionally, contextual and cultural factors influenced teachers’ approaches, underscoring the significance of culturally responsive practices. While the study provides valuable insights, limitations include reliance on self-reported data and the lack of classroom observations, which could offer further validation. Abstract

The hastag No. viral No. justice has recently emerged on social media platforms creating its own discourse in the justice system. This research aims to examine how the impact of this phenomenon on the judicial system and to find the ideal mechanism of digital transformation of justice so that this phenomenon remains in line with the principle of due process of law. This research method uses a social legal with a case study approach and conceptual approach in answering the problem formulation. This research found that this phenomenon is motivated by the slow response of law enforcement officials and the lack of transparency of the judicial system, then the impact of this phenomenon disrupts the independence of the judiciary because it is tried by the media and has the potential to accommodate the spread of hoaxes and public disinformation. To answer these challenges, the author proposes a digital transformation of the judiciary through the optimization of SIPP, by adding a verification link feature on the SIPP page. So that access to case tracking becomes more transparent. In addition, there are also new rules regarding the publication of unresolved legal cases on social media by requiring the admin and related accounts to provide a disclaimer and link to the SIPP verification link of the case. This regulation is regulated through the revision of the ITE Law by the legislators.

Abstract

Arabic language instruction has traditionally centered on classical Islamic texts, emphasizing rote memorization, mastery of grammar (naḥw), and rhetorical eloquence (balāghah), which, while preserving linguistic authenticity, often fail to meet the evolving educational demands of the 21st century. In an age marked by rapid technological advancement and shifting pedagogical paradigms, there is a critical need to reform Arabic teaching by integrating traditional methods with digital tools and interdisciplinary approaches. This study adopts a qualitative, literature-based methodology to explore both the foundational principles of classical pedagogy and recent innovations, including learning management systems, gamification, and AI-enhanced learning technologies. Through comparative analysis, the research identifies key disjunctions and overlaps between heritage-based teaching and modern digital practices. From this synthesis, the study proposes a reconstructed pedagogical model built on four core elements: cognitive-linguistic scaffolding, digital integration, sociocultural contextualization, and multidisciplinary instruction. This integrative approach not only fosters greater student engagement but also promotes character development in line with the objectives of Islamic education (maqāṣid al-sharīʿah). Furthermore, it supports a more adaptive and culturally responsive learning environment, contributing to broader educational reform efforts aimed at holistic learning. The findings suggest that such a model is particularly well-suited to Islamic higher education contexts while also being adaptable to global academic systems. By bridging the gap between tradition and innovation, this framework offers both a theoretical and practical foundation for modernizing Arabic language pedagogy. It holds implications for curriculum development, instructional strategies, and educational policy, advocating for a future-oriented yet culturally rooted approach to language education that respects heritage while embracing necessary transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the extent to which the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are integrated into the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum of the Primary School Teacher Education Program (PGMI) at the Al-Zaytun Islamic Institute of Indonesia. Responding to the limited number of empirical curriculum studies linking OBE and sustainability, this research adopts a library research design supported by structured content analysis of curriculum documents, including Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), Course Learning Objectives (CPMK), and assessment rubrics. The analytical rubric was developed based on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) indicators recommended by UNESCO. Findings indicate that only 30% of CPL and 22.7% of CPMK explicitly incorporate SDG values, with the dominant themes being inclusive education, social empathy, and critical thinking. The remaining components either indirectly address sustainability principles or primarily focus on technical pedagogical aspects. This reveals a misalignment between the curriculum’s current structure and the transformative vision of ESD and SDGs. Methodologically, this research contributes by offering a replicable rubric for assessing curriculum sustainability. Conceptually, it establishes a link between the OBE framework and sustainability values within Islamic teacher education. Practically, the findings provide actionable insights for curriculum developers and policymakers to enhance alignment with global sustainability agendas. The study emphasizes the strategic role of PGMI in fostering sustainability-oriented educators and advocates for systemic curriculum reform to produce future teachers equipped with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary to address contemporary global challenges. Strengthening the integration of SDGs within OBE-based curricula is essential for higher education institutions to actively contribute to the realization of a sustainable future.
