Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to examine the preparedness of elementary physical education teachers to execute gamification, with regard to cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects. The current study is based on a quantitative method with descriptive survey research. The sample of the study was 30 physical education teachers of elementary schools located in the region of Sumedang, West Java. Cluster and purposive sampling techniques were used to choose the sample. A validated 5-point Likert scale was used to collect the required data. The results of the study showed that the preparedness of physical education teachers is at the "Very High" level on all three dimensions. The preparedness of physical education teachers was the highest on the behavioral dimension at 89.04%, followed by the cognitive dimension at 88.05%, and then the affective dimension at 85.64%. The present study provides substantial empirical support to the government to develop specific teacher training programs to assist physical education teachers with the digital revolution.

Abstract

Research on the Development of the Obstacle Adventure Game Model aims to be an alternative to learning Physical Education, Sports and Health (PJOK) in elementary school students at SD Negeri Tuwel 01, Bojong District, Tegal Regency. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) referring to the development of Borg and Gall. The research subjects consisted of 16 1st grade students for small-scale trials and 40 2nd graders for large-scale trials. The research instruments include questionnaires, observations, interviews and documentation. The validation results of game expert lecturers, social service experts and learning experts showed the percentage of eligibility of 78%, 78% and 80%, respectively with the feasible category. In the results of the product revision then increased to 83%, 85%, 82% with the category of very feasible. The test for students showed a percentage of 89% results in small-scale trials and increased to 92% in large-scale trials. These results show that the Obstacle Adventure Game Model is suitable for use as an alternative to PJOK Learning because it is able to make students more active in learning activities and create an interesting, challenging and fun learning atmosphere.

Abstract

Dollyo chagi is one of the most commonly used techniques in taekwondo competitions that require physical ability, specifically speed. This study aims to determine the impact and effectiveness of modified strength training using rubber resistance bands on improving the speed of the dollyo chagi kick among taekwondo athletes at the RTA Academy Dojang in Kendal Regency. This study employed an experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 20 athletes aged 12–17 years, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument used a 10-second dollyo chagi kicking speed test, measured in the number of kicks. The intervention was administered over 16 sessions, with a frequency of four times per week. Data analysis involved tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using a paired-sample t-test via the SPSS programme. The results of the study indicate that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous. The mean pretest score of 16.50 increased to 20.50 in the posttest. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a calculated t-value of -24.658 with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results. It can therefore be concluded that training using modified rubber tyre resistance bands has a significant and effective impact on improving the speed of the dollyo chagi kick in taekwondo athletes.

Abstract

Gross motor skills are an important foundation in supporting the physical development and participation of physical activity of elementary school-age children. This study aims to analyze the profile of locomotor ability, object control, and Gross Motor Quotient (GMQ) of elementary school students using the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2) instrument. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects totaled 21 students aged 7–10 years who were selected using the total sampling technique. Data were obtained through the measurement of 12 basic motion skills consisting of six locomotor skills and six object control skills, then converted into standard values and GMQ based on TGMD-2 norms. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics including averages, standard deviations, percentages, and category distributions. The results showed that 80.95% of students were in the Average category and 19.04% were in the Below Average category with an average GMQ score of 93.71. These findings show that students' gross motor skills are generally in accordance with age-development norms, but a more varied and structured physical education learning strategy is needed to improve the quality of students' basic movement skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of inclusion-based adaptive physical education learning integrated with a deep learning approach in improving the independence and physical fitness of junior high school (SMP) students. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of junior high school students who were divided into experimental groups and control groups. The research instruments include physical fitness tests and independence questionnaires, which have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistical tests through paired sample t-test and independent t-test. The results showed that there was a significant improvement in students' independence and physical fitness in the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). Deep learning-based learning in the context of inclusion has been proven to increase students' active involvement, strengthen movement understanding, and develop physical and psychosocial skills simultaneously. Additionally, this approach provides a more meaningful, adaptive, and student-centered learning experience. The conclusion of this study confirms that inclusion-based adaptive physical education learning with deep learning integration is effective in increasing the independence and physical fitness of junior high school students. These findings provide practical implications for the development of innovative and sustainable learning models in the context of physical education

Abstract

Volleyball learning in Physical Education at school often faces the problem of low student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of applying the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) learning model in stages—from low to high—with TGfU directly, as well as to ascertain and assess the impact of TGfU on enhancing volleyball learning outcomes. This study employs a pretest–posttest control group design, a quasi-experimental method, and a quantitative methodology. The research sample consisted of two classes selected using a purposive sampling technique, namely experimental class A (32 students) who received TGfU learning with gradual increases and experimental class B (26 students) who received TGfU learning with direct increases. Data were collected through observation and game performance tests using the Games Performance Assessment Instrument (GPAI). With the use of SPSS 25 for Windows, data were examined using normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, and independent sample t-tests. The findings demonstrated that learning outcomes improved in both classes. Experimental class A saw an average improvement in learning outcomes of 20.75 points, according to the paired sample t-test. In a similar vein, learning results for experimental class B increased on average by 17.62 points. The independent sample t-test revealed a significant difference between the two groups with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Therefore, compared to TGfU with direct high-intensity increases, the implementation of the TGfU model with incremental increments, from low to high, is more beneficial in increasing volleyball learning results.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to predict the speed of a 20-meter sprint based on the characteristics of muscle fibers and leg power in athletes who participate in a coaching program at the Cibubur National Sports Training Center (CNSTC). This study is expected to provide an understanding of the contribution of physiological factors and explosive abilities of the legs to short-distance sprint performance. Methods: The study used a quantitative approach with a predictive correlational design. The subjects of the study are athletes who undergo a training program at CNSTC Cibubur. The characteristics of the muscle fibers were identified through neuromuscular measurements, while the strength of the limbs was measured using the vertical jump test. Sprint speed is measured through a 20-meter sprint test with an electronic timekeeping device. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation tests, and regression analysis to determine the contribution of predictive variables to sprint performance. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the dominance of fast muscle fibers and high leg power were positively and significantly related to the 20-meter sprint speed. Athletes with these characteristics tend to record faster sprint times. Regression analysis also showed that both variables simultaneously made a significant contribution to predicting short-distance sprint performance. Conclusion: Muscle fibers and leg power are important predictors in determining the speed of a 20-meter sprint in athletes, so the development of explosive and neuromuscular exercises has the potential to improve sprint performance more effectively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of basic futsal technical skills of the Azzhazel Club athletes in Semarang City. The method used was a survey with test and measurement techniques. Through tests and measurements, objective data will be obtained. The subjects of this study were 20 athletes from the Azzhazel Club in Semarang City. Data collection was carried out through observation and tests. Data analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively. The results of this study were declared "quite good" by 15 athletes (75%). This means that the futsal skill level of the Azzhazel Club athletes in Semarang City is included in the fairly good level, while the average. The average score of 48.3119 is in the "moderate" range. This can be used as a consideration for coaches or trainers to improve physical and psychological quality, develop strategies, techniques, and playing patterns, and improve the futsal abilities and skills of the Azzhazel Club athletes in Semarang City. The conclusion of this study is that there has been an increase in basic futsal technical skills among the Azzhazel Club athletes in Semarang City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the defense and offense performance of the Indonesian and Thai Men's National Volleyball Teams in the 2025 SEA Games Final. The method used is descriptive quantitative with a non-experimental approach through observation of video recordings of the match accessed via the RCTI Sports YouTube channel. The analysis focused on defense aspects, including receiving, digging, and blocking, as well as offense aspects, including serving, open spikes, quick attacks, back attacks, and tosses. The results showed that it was a close match, with Thailand winning 3-2 (25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-12). Indonesia excelled in quick attack (83.3%), toss (97.5%), and receive (94.5%), but had weaknesses in blocking with a success rate of only 41.1%. Conversely, Thailand showed more consistent performance with effective blocks (58.3%), minimal serve errors (87.2%), and stability in the deciding sets. The key factors in Thailand's victory were the harmonious integration of defense and attack, as well as the ability to minimize unforced errors. This study contributes to the development of volleyball performance analysis at the international level and provides practical implications for coaches in designing integrated training programs that emphasize a balance between defense and attack.

Abstract

The results of the observations indicate that training programs still tend to be monotonous, with a greater focus on repeating basic techniques without incorporating more varied methods. This results in athletes’ accuracy skills not developing optimally. This study aims to determine the effect of handgrip and catch-only training on the accuracy of the table tennis backhand drive, as well as to compare the effectiveness of the two methods. This study employs a quantitative approach and experimental methods, utilizing a quasi-experimental two-group pre-test-post-test design. The sample consisted of 12 athletes selected using total sampling. The instrument used in this study was the backhand drive accuracy test according to Tomoliyus. Data analysis techniques included the Paired Sample T-Test and linear regression analysis using the Model Summary. In the handgrip training group, the average accuracy score at the pre-test was 61.33 points, and the average post-test score was 66.33 points. In the catch-only training group, the average accuracy score at the pre-test was 57.83 points, and the average post-test score was 77.33 points. The p-value (Sig. 2-tailed) for the handgrip training group was 0.376 (value > 0.05), and the p-value (Sig. 2-tailed) for the catch-only training group was 0.025 (value < 0.05). The percentage effects of the handgrip and catch-only training methods were 57% and 80.2%, respectively. The conclusion of this study is that both training methods in this study had an effect on the accuracy of the athletes’ backhand drive strokes; however, there was a significant effect on backhand drive accuracy before and after the catch-only training compared to the handgrip training. A limitation of this study is that research specifically examining the relationship between grip strength training and reaction speed in relation to backhand drive accuracy remains limited.
