Abstract

This qualitative research aims to explore the development of social empathy character through contextual learning of zakat and sadaqah material at MIN 1 Bantul. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, students, and school principals. The results showed that contextual learning of zakat and sadaqah effectively develops students' social empathy through three main strategies: (1) direct observation of social conditions in the surrounding environment, (2) zakat and sadaqah practice projects involving students directly, and (3) reflection and discussion on the social impacts of zakat and sadaqah. The findings indicate that when zakat and sadaqah materials are taught contextually by connecting them to real social realities, students not only understand the concepts theoretically but also develop sensitivity and empathy towards others' social conditions. This research contributes to the development of character-based PAI learning methods in elementary madrasahs.

Abstract

The concepts of good and bad are essential in understanding human behavior and the moral values that govern society. These concepts are often used as benchmarks to evaluate an individual’s actions and determine whether such actions are socially acceptable. They have been integral to human life since ancient times and continue to develop alongside changes in social, cultural, and religious contexts. In daily life, individuals frequently encounter situations that require moral judgment; therefore, understanding the concepts of good and bad is crucial for making appropriate decisions and behaving in accordance with established moral values. Moreover, these concepts influence our relationships with society and those around us, shaping personal identity and character. Throughout history, various philosophers and ethicists have proposed theories to explain how the concepts of good and bad are formed and how they can guide moral decision-making. Among the most prominent are consequentialism, deontology, and virtue ethics. This journal discusses the theories and concepts of good and bad in relation to human actions and examines their practical application in everyday life. Understanding these concepts can enhance moral awareness and support better decision-making in various situations. In addition, this paper explores how factors such as culture, religion, and personal experience contribute to shaping individuals’ perceptions of good and bad. Thus, this journal aims to provide a deeper understanding of these moral concepts and their relevance to human behavior. It is also expected to serve as a reference for readers who wish to further study ethical theories and the foundations of moral evaluation.

Abstract

Sex education is an important issue in the field of education that is not only related to biological aspects but also involves ethical dimensions, values, and human dignity. In practice, sex education is often understood in a narrow sense or trapped in an extreme dichotomy between permissive and repressive approaches, thus failing to fully develop students’ moral awareness. This article aims to examine sex education within an ethical framework through a philosophical approach as a more comprehensive and meaningful alternative. This study employs a qualitative library research method by critically reviewing literature on ethical philosophy, philosophy of education, sex education, as well as classical and contemporary Islamic ethical studies. Data analysis is conducted conceptually and reflectively by examining the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions of sex education. The findings indicate that sex education, from a philosophical-ethical perspective, should be understood as a process of forming holistic human beings that emphasizes responsible freedom, respect for human dignity, and the internalization of moral values. Furthermore, sex education plays a significant role as a means of developing students’ moral awareness in understanding and managing sexuality wisely. Therefore, the philosophical-ethical approach provides a conceptual foundation for formulating sex education that is not merely informative but also oriented toward moral and humanistic development.

Abstract

Tajwid instruction at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level continues to face challenges related to students’ low accuracy in Qur’anic recitation, particularly in the application of the rules of nun sukun and mim sukun. Recitation errors that are not corrected promptly tend to become persistent habits and negatively affect the overall quality of Qur’anic reading. This study aims to analyze the forms of recitation errors in the application of nun sukun and mim sukun rules, identify the recitation rules that are most frequently misapplied, and examine the factors contributing to these errors among sixth-grade students at MI Daarussa’adah Parungkuda Sukabumi. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation of students’ recitation during Qur’an learning activities and daily tahfidz sessions, interviews with teachers and students, and supporting documentation. The findings indicate that recitation errors are systematic and recurrent, particularly in the application of ikhfa’, ikhfa’ shafawi, and idgham bighunnah, influenced by limited phonetic mastery, habitual recitation without continuous correction, and learning orientations that prioritize fluency over accuracy. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of balanced integration between tajwid instruction and tahfidz activities. The implications of this study provide a practical foundation for developing more applicable tajwid learning strategies oriented toward improving the quality of students’ Qur’anic recitation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using flashcard media on students’ understanding of the content of Qur’anic verses in the Al-Qur’an Hadith subject. The background of this research is based on the low level of students’ understanding of the meanings and messages of Qur’anic verses due to the use of conventional teaching methods. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method. The research subjects consisted of 20 students. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and comprehension tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis to identify the effect of flashcard media on students’ understanding. The results indicate that the use of flashcard media has a positive and significant effect on students’ understanding of the content of Qur’anic verses. Flashcards help increase learning interest, facilitate comprehension of verse meanings, and improve students’ ability to remember the content effectively. Therefore, flashcard media can be considered an effective alternative learning medium in the teaching of Al-Qur’an Hadith.

Abstract

This study critically examines the phenomenon of online Ruqyah in the digital era through a Tawhid based theological framework derived from the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical works such as Kitab At-Tauhid by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. It explores whether this digital adaptation of spiritual healing aligns with the principles of Ruqyah Shar‘iyyah and safeguards the purity of Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah. Employing a qualitative library research approach, the study analyzes Qur’anic texts, Prophetic traditions, and scholarly literature on digital Islam. Findings indicate that while online Ruqyah enhances accessibility and serves as a medium for da’wah and spiritual education, it fails to fulfill the essential methodological (kayfiyyah) elements prescribed in the Sunnah particularly Masah (wiping) and Nafth (blowing) thereby challenging its theological validity as affirmed by scholars such as Shaykh Al-Fawzan. The digital mediation of supplication, absent during the Prophet’s era, further risks bid‘ah (religious innovation) and dilutes the sincerity (ikhlāṣ) and tawakkul central to authentic worship. Nevertheless, the study underscores the need for empirical engagement with users’ experiences to evaluate whether digital Ruqyah may function as a complementary form of guided self Ruqyah and an evolving expression of faith within contemporary digital religiosity.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of labor protection rights and obligations for private sector employees in Indonesia, focusing on regulatory enforcement, factors influencing implementation effectiveness, and the impact on workers’ welfare. Although the regulatory framework has undergone significant updates through the Job Creation Law, and BPJS Employment coverage has reached 43.5 million workers with managed funds totaling IDR 776.8 trillion, there remains a substantial gap at the implementation level. Coverage currently accounts for only 47.91% of the total labor force, and merely 40.85% of laid-off workers successfully access the Unemployment Insurance scheme. Key challenges include weaknesses in digital administrative systems, low employer compliance and awareness, limited worker literacy regarding their rights, and inadequate supervision and enforcement of sanctions. This study highlights the need for a holistic approach integrating regulatory strengthening, enhancement of digital system capacity, intensified monitoring, and expansion of educational programs to optimize labor protection in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role, urgency, and benefits of multimedia learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the digital era, as well as to identify the challenges and management strategies to ensure its alignment with Islamic values. The research employs a library research method by analyzing relevant scientific sources, including books, journals, and scholarly articles related to learning media, multimedia learning, and Islamic education. The findings indicate that multimedia learning enhances students’ interest, participation, and understanding of PAI materials through more interactive, flexible, and meaningful learning experiences, while also supporting the development of students’ digital literacy. However, the use of multimedia may also lead to negative impacts, such as technological dependency, decreased concentration, and exposure to inappropriate content if not properly supervised. In conclusion, multimedia learning is highly effective in PAI instruction when it is carefully designed, well-controlled, and integrated with the reinforcement of moral and spiritual values, thereby improving learning outcomes and fostering students’ character and Islamic ethics.

Abstract

This abstract aims to analyze the integration of Islamic economic principles with law enforcement through a review of the Compilation of Islamic Economic Law (KHES) and Islamic Criminal Law. The main study lies in how Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) principles function as a philosophical and operational basis in mitigating economic disputes. Using normative legal research methods, this article examines various contracts in KHES that often intersect with aspects of legal violations. The research findings show that Islamic jurisprudence principles such as "al-ashlu fi al-'uqud alibahah" (the original law of the contract is permissible) and "al-dhararu yuzal" (harm must be eliminated) provide flexibility as well as ethical boundaries in modern transactions. However, when a breach of contract occurs that contains elements of fraud (tadlis) or embezzlement, Islamic economic law does not only stop at civil settlement, but also intersects with the realm of Islamic criminal law through the ta'zir sanction mechanism. This analysis confirms that the enforcement of the Islamic Law (KHES) requires synergy with the principles of criminal law to create a deterrent effect against economic behavior that harms the public.
