Abstract

The aim of this research was to see how the implementation of character education was used to help students at the Tahfizh Al-Qur'an Islamic Boarding School Daarul 'Uluum Lido Bogor currently become more independent. Approaches used in research This uses a descriptive approach with qualitative methods because,  with approaches and methods studied, it can produce data in the form of written words or direct verbal observations in the study field. Results and findings of research show that institutions boarding schools implement education character by organizing and moving students in a disciplined manner through activities like wake-up time sleep, praying congregation, memorizing the Qur’an, studying, doing activities in the dormitory, and returning to the hostel until meeting time to go back to sleep. The supporting and inhibiting factors for implementing these activities are related to the level of concern and attention that educators have for students, and vice versa, namely students' concern for educators. The inhibiting factors can be found in internal factors found in the students themselves, as well as external factors originating from the environment, teachers, or even the parents of each student.

Abstract

The murabahah contract is one of the most widely used sale and purchase contracts in the operations of Islamic financial institutions, particularly in financing products. The implementation of this contract is based on the principle of price transparency and agreed profit margins between the Islamic financial institution and the customer. However, in practice, the implementation of the murabahah contract often gives rise to differences in understanding and potential deviations from ideal sharia principles. This article aims to analyze the implementation of the murabahah contract in Islamic financial institutions through theoretical and practical reviews. The research method used is a literature review by examining various sources of literature in the form of textbooks, scientific journals, fatwas from the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), and regulations related to the murabahah contract. The results of the study indicate that theoretically the murabahah contract has a strong sharia basis and clear mechanisms, but in practice there is still a tendency for its implementation to resemble conventional financing systems, particularly in aspects of goods ownership and profit margin determination.

Abstract

Tajwid instruction at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level continues to face challenges related to students’ low accuracy in Qur’anic recitation, particularly in the application of the rules of nun sukun and mim sukun. Recitation errors that are not corrected promptly tend to become persistent habits and negatively affect the overall quality of Qur’anic reading. This study aims to analyze the forms of recitation errors in the application of nun sukun and mim sukun rules, identify the recitation rules that are most frequently misapplied, and examine the factors contributing to these errors among sixth-grade students at MI Daarussa’adah Parungkuda Sukabumi. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation of students’ recitation during Qur’an learning activities and daily tahfidz sessions, interviews with teachers and students, and supporting documentation. The findings indicate that recitation errors are systematic and recurrent, particularly in the application of ikhfa’, ikhfa’ shafawi, and idgham bighunnah, influenced by limited phonetic mastery, habitual recitation without continuous correction, and learning orientations that prioritize fluency over accuracy. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of balanced integration between tajwid instruction and tahfidz activities. The implications of this study provide a practical foundation for developing more applicable tajwid learning strategies oriented toward improving the quality of students’ Qur’anic recitation.

Abstract

Riba is a practice that is strictly prohibited in Islam due to its inherent elements of injustice and economic exploitation. In the context of the modern financial system, riba is often embedded in various financial instruments such as bank interest, consumer credit, and other financing products, which has led to ongoing debates among scholars and practitioners of Islamic finance. This study aims to analyze the concept of riba within the modern financial system from the perspective of fiqh muamalah. The research employs a literature review method by examining primary and secondary sources, including the Qur’an, Hadith, classical and contemporary fiqh muamalah literature, fatwas issued by the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), as well as relevant academic books and journal articles. The findings indicate that, in principle, riba in modern financial practices shares the same legal cause (‘illat) as the riba prohibited in fiqh muamalah, namely the existence of predetermined additional returns without proportional risk or productive effort. However, differences in scholarly opinions persist regarding the application and boundaries of riba in modern financial products due to the complexity of today’s economic system. Therefore, strengthening the understanding of fiqh muamalah and developing Islamic financial systems are essential to provide fair, transparent, and Sharia-compliant alternatives.

Abstract

This study examines the evolution of the epistemology of science from classical Greek thought, Islamic scientific tradition, empirical modernism, to relativistic postmodernism, and analyzes its implications for contemporary educational paradigms. The purpose of this study is to identify the epistemological character of each historical phase, find similarities and differences related to the sources and validity of knowledge, and formulate their influence on educational theory, learning approaches, and curriculum development in the modern and postmodern eras. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method through the analysis of primary philosophical sources and secondary academic literature. Data are classified thematically and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results show that Greek epistemology emphasizes rationality; Islamic epistemology is integrative between revelation, reason, and empiricism; modern epistemology prioritizes scientific empiricism and objectivity; while postmodern epistemology views knowledge as plural and contextual. The study concludes that these epistemological dynamics have a significant influence on educational paradigms. Modernism gave rise to objective and competency-based education; postmodernism gave rise to collaborative, contextual, and learner-centered learning; Meanwhile, Islamic epistemology offers an integrative paradigm that balances intellectual, empirical, and moral aspects. This research contributes theoretically as a cross-historical epistemological framework and practically as a reference for developing holistic and adaptive curricula and learning models.

Abstract

Pesantren, as the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, have undergone significant transformation since the post-reform era. This study aims to analyze the forms of socio-cultural reconstruction and educational innovation within the dynamics of Indonesian pesantren using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Data were collected from 22 peer-reviewed articles published between 2013 and 2025 through databases such as Google Scholar, DOAJ, Garuda, and university repositories using the Publish or Perish application. The research process consisted of defining research focus and questions, identifying relevant literature, selecting articles based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, extracting data, and conducting thematic synthesis. The findings reveal three major themes of pesantren transformation: (1) socio-cultural reconstruction as an adaptive effort to maintain religious values amid modernity; (2) educational innovation through the integration of classical and modern curricula and the application of digital technologies such as Pedatren and SIPREN; and (3) policy reform that strengthens pesantren’s legitimacy within the national education system. This study concludes that post-reform pesantren have transformed into adaptive, transformative, and globally competitive Islamic educational institutions while maintaining their traditional identity. Abstrak Pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam tertua di Indonesia telah mengalami perubahan signifikan sejak era pasca-reformasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk rekonstruksi sosio-kultural dan inovasi pendidikan dalam dinamika kepesantrenan Indonesia dengan menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data dikumpulkan dari 22 artikel ilmiah terpublikasi pada rentang tahun 2013–2025 melalui basis data Google Scholar, DOAJ, Garuda, dan repositori perguruan tinggi dengan bantuan aplikasi Publish or Perish. Proses penelitian meliputi perumusan fokus riset, identifikasi literatur, seleksi artikel berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, ekstraksi data, serta analisis sintesis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga tema utama transformasi pesantren, yaitu: (1) rekonstruksi sosio-kultural sebagai upaya adaptasi nilai dan peran sosial pesantren di tengah modernitas; (2) inovasi pendidikan melalui integrasi kurikulum klasik dan modern serta penerapan teknologi digital seperti Pedatren dan SIPREN; dan (3) reformasi kebijakan yang memperkuat legitimasi pesantren sebagai bagian sistem pendidikan nasional. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pesantren pasca-reformasi bertransformasi menjadi lembaga pendidikan Islam yang adaptif, transformatif, dan berdaya saing global tanpa kehilangan akar tradisinya.

Abstract

Rendahnya partisipasi dan keterikatan remaja terhadap kegiatan masjid menjadi tantangan serius dalam pembinaan generasi muda Muslim di tingkat komunitas. Kondisi ini juga dialami oleh Remaja Masjid Al-Ikhlas Cibuntu Cicurug Sukabumi, yang menunjukkan minimnya keterlibatan dalam aktivitas keagamaan dan sosial masjid. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat pendidikan Islam kontekstual melalui sinergi antara Dewan Kemakmuran Masjid (DKM) Al-Ikhlas dan masyarakat dalam pembinaan remaja masjid. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang melibatkan pengurus DKM, remaja masjid, dan tokoh masyarakat melalui tahapan identifikasi masalah, perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan program, serta refleksi dan evaluasi. Program pembinaan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk kajian tematik interaktif, mentoring keagamaan, pelatihan literasi keislaman, dan kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan partisipasi remaja, kualitas pemahaman keagamaan yang lebih kontekstual, serta berkembangnya karakter religius dan kepedulian sosial. Pembahasan menegaskan bahwa pendidikan Islam kontekstual berbasis partisipasi komunitas efektif dalam membangun keterikatan remaja dengan masjid. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa sinergi DKM dan masyarakat berperan strategis dalam penguatan pembinaan remaja masjid. Disarankan agar model pembinaan ini dikembangkan secara berkelanjutan dan direplikasi di masjid lain dengan penyesuaian konteks lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of errors in reading nun sukun and tanwin, the factors causing these errors, and the tahsin learning strategies implemented by teachers to overcome them among fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Sindang Sari. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that students frequently made errors in applying the rules of idgham, ikhfa’, iqlab, and idzhar. The causes of these errors include internal factors such as limited understanding of tajwid and lack of regular Qur’anic reading practice, as well as external factors including differences in students’ initial abilities, limited instructional time, and monotonous teaching methods. To address these issues, tahsin teachers applied strategies such as providing correct reading models, habituation through repetitive practice, individual guidance and correction, and periodic evaluation. These strategies gradually reduced students’ reading errors and improved the quality of Qur’anic recitation in accordance with tajwid rules.
