Abstract

Digital learning materials are abundant on the internet. The Apprendre.TV5Monde.com site is an innovation essential to learning the French language. This research aims to describe the material’s suitability and the form of the questions for four DELF A1 language skills. It is descriptive research using data sheets and tables to analyze and calculate the number of matches between the material and the form of the practice questions. Research shows that the seven themes containing material and question forms relating to the material improve three language skills except oral production. This is not available due to the absence of the appropriate tool. In total, 442 questions correspond to 112 materials spread over seven themes. Each material presented is evaluated to monitor the success of the learning objective. We can conclude that this page is recommended as a support for learning French for beginners.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the difference in speaking ability between the experimental class who took part in learning using the UNO card game application. This research also seeks to test the effectiveness of the UNO card game for learning numbers in French for students at SMK Telkom 2 Medan. This research uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods and a group pretest-posttest design. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation, tests, and interviews. Data is analyzed using quantitative data analysis techniques with the application SPSS. The average pretest score was 27 and became 78 in the posttest average score. The N-gain test is calculated to determine the efficiency of the UNO card game. The average student’s pre-test and post-test scores increased by 72% based on the results. Regarding the Media Effectiveness Test Chart, 72% fall into the effective category. It can be concluded that the UNO card game is efficacious in improving oral production skills in learning number material at SMK Telkom 2 Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students’ cross-cultural ability, the effectiveness of the “le Tour de Culture” application as a media for students’ cross-cultural literacy, and students’ response to utilizing the “le Tour de Culture” application as a media for cross-cultural literacy. This research is experimental research with one shot case study design, and the number of respondents was 36 students of SMA N 2 Ungaran. The methods used to collect data in this study were tests and. The results of this study indicate that the ability of SMA N 2 Ungaran students regarding cross-cultural knowledge of Indonesia-France is very good, with the percentage of students passing the Indonesian-French cross-cultural knowledge test of 94% with an average score obtained by students of 93.39. Then, 100% of SMA N 2 Ungaran students responded positively to the use of the “le Tour de Culture” application as a learning media for Indonesian-French cross-cultural literacy. On the other side, the percentage of class learning completeness is greater than the predetermined class completeness standard of 94.4%>85%. It can be concluded that the “le Tour de Culture” application is effective as a learning media for Indonesian-French cross-cultural literacy.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the types of derivative word formation and inflectional word formation found in the poetry collection “Couleur Femme” and determine the dominant types of word formation. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The data source for this research is poetry by Pranita Dewi in the bilingual poetry collection “Couleur Femme.” The poems by Pranita Dewi which are the source of research data are “Ambarawa, vile sans personne; Edge Park; Melka, la mariée d’une saison; and Je commence cette année avec toux et asthma”. The data for this research are words that have derivative and inflectional word formation in the four poems. The research results show eight types of derivative word formation: prefixation, suffixes forming nouns, adjectives forming adjectives, adverbs forming adverbs, verbs forming verbs, zero derivations, popular compositions, and absorption. Furthermore, there are five types of inflectional word formation: conjugation, flexion of masculine nouns to become feminine, flexion of singular nouns to become plural general nouns, flexion of singular adjectives to plural, and flexion of masculine adjectives to feminine. The dominant type of derivative word formation is verb-forming suffixes. The dominant inflectional kind of word formation is conjugation.

Abstract

This research developed the game ABDI (Adventure in Bali: Guess the Icon) to support learning French for Tourism at Universitas Negeri Semarang. This media development aims to improve students’ ability to present Balinese tourist and cultural attractions in French. Using the ADDIE model, this game goes through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results show that the ABDI game effectively achieves learning objectives, increasing understanding of Bali tourism and practicing French presentation skills. Students gave positive responses, making ABDI an innovative and compelling learning medium.

Abstract

The data analysis used in this research is the content analysis technique. It is impossible to understand a particular culture without direct access to its language, as language is deeply embedded in culture. This research focuses on cultural studies with the theme of cultural aspects and cultural values of France in the book Tendances A2. It examines aspects of French culture according to the European community based on the CEFR concept and the cultural value of character according to Thomas Lickona. The research is qualitative, with a descriptive analysis approach. The techniques used to collect data in this study are of two kinds: documentation, listening, and note-taking. Daily life is the cultural technique that appears most often (17 aspects). The most common cultural value is respect (17 values).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of verb conjugation errors in preference expressions of 4th-semester Unimed students in simple sentences in French, explore the errors in the use of articles defined by 4th-semester Unimed students in preference expressions, especially in simple sentences in French. The problems of this study are: what are the differences in verb conjugation errors in preference expressions of 4th-semester students, and what are the errors in the use of definite articles in preference expressions of 4th-semester students? This research uses descriptive methods and qualitative research methods. The results of the research conducted allow us to conclude that there are forms of errors in the use of preference expressions. The forms of errors observed vary greatly and can be detailed as follows: the forms of errors observed, there are forms of errors that are most often found in students’ writing, namely grammatical errors of definite articles, which amount to 116, and grammatical errors of verb conjugation which amount to 69. Then, the rest are grammatical errors in prepositions and grammatical errors in verbs in the infinitive. The writing ability of Unimed reg b 2022 students is still low, as evidenced by their many mistakes.

Abstract

Writing skills are one of the skills that must be mastered in learning French to communicate with the 321 million people in the world who use the language. Errors in writing are unavoidable due to differences in language systems. Therefore, this study aims to describe 1) the types of mistakes made by students, 2) student responses to work corrections, and 3) students’ efforts in overcoming writing errors. This study is a descriptive qualitative study that has a sample of 51 students of SMA Negeri 1 Demak by analysing the student work results using data collection from student work results, by analysing mistakes, describing mistakes, explaining mistakes by providing feedback about mistakes made, and questionnaires about mistakes made and their ways or efforts. To correct such a mistake, use data cards and recapitulation tables to analyse the data. The results showed 1) writing mistakes in grammatical elements were most commonly found, namely 106 grammatical mistakes, and 45 orthographic errors. 2) The students’ response to the corrections given is responded well, namely with the idea of correcting the results of the assignments given can help find out the location of errors and justifications for writing in French and 3) the effort made by students in learning French in Writing Skills, namely students argue by learning, looking for information, correcting writing errors, paying more attention to learning and not hesitating to ask questions during learning.

Abstract

Learning French, which is not an everyday language, is tricky for students to understand. The use of interesting French learning media for students is needed to present interactive learning and can simplify concepts that are difficult to understand. The development of learning media that researchers do is in the form of game development for French learning, especially to explain the structure of definite, indefinite, and possessive articles, as well as the conjugation of verbs of the Imperative form, based on the Basic Competencies of the material that needs to be achieved. This research aims to analyze the needs of teachers and students and describe how to develop Scratch game media for learning Procedure Text. The research and development method is used in this research. Development method, which is a research method used to produce specific products and test the effectiveness of these products. Researchers conducted five of the ten research stages: finding potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, and design revision. The results of the respondents need learning materials that follow the basic skills of the material. Respondents also need learning materials that are consistent with speech act performances. Respondents are interested in technology-based learning materials. Scratch Game Development Process The game development process consists of seven steps, with the development result being a Scratch game for learning French procedure text at a high school level.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the difference in French language comprehension ability among students in class XII of SMAN 9 Bandar Lampung before and after using the 1jour1actu media. The research subjects were the students in class XII 8, 35 students in total, who constituted the experimental class. This research is a quantitative study with a single-group pre-test-post-test research design. In this study, the t-test, N-gain, normality, and homogeneity tests were used with the help of SPSS 22 to analyze the data. The results showed that the pre-test mean was 68.57 while the post-test result was 83.57. There was an increase of 15 points. In addition, the t-test value was obtained with a significant value of 0.000. The advantages of 1jour1actu learning materials are that students become more enthusiastic, have no trouble finding materials to practice reading comprehension at school and home, and can improve their knowledge of French vocabulary. The disadvantages of 1jour1actu learning media are that the material provided is too complex and not focused on a single subject. In addition, students have difficulty using 1jour1actu when the signal is unstable.
