Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of enthusiasm among students in participating in Arabic reading lessons at Islamic High Schools in Tegal Regency, due to teachers not maximizing the use of teaching media in addition to teaching modules, despite the availability of various facilities at the school. With the technological advancements happening today, the presence of digital learning media greatly aids both teachers and students in conducting learning inside and outside the classroom. Therefore, the  researcher developed the digital educational media SABILI (Sahla Arabic Flip Book) to support the learning of Arabic reading skills for tenth-grade high school students. The objectives of this research are to (1) identify the needs of teachers and students for the development of the digital educational media SABILI (Sahla Arabic Flip Book) for  Arabic reading skills, (2) develop a prototype of the digital educational media SABILI (Sahla Arabic Flip Book) for Arabic reading skills, and (3) determine the validation of  teachers and experts regarding the digital educational media SABILI (Sahla Arabic Flip Book) for Arabic reading skills. This research is a research and development (R&D) study. Data collection in this study was carried out through non-test techniques. The non-test data instruments used included instruments for teacher and student needs which were distributed before the SABILI (Sahla Arabic Flip Book) prototype was developed, and expert validation instruments to assess the prototype after it was developed. In addition, interview and documentation techniques were also used to enhance the researcher's knowledge regarding the needs of teachers and students for the SABILI (Sahla Arabic Flip Book) educational media. The results of the study indicate that teachers and students desire the development of the SABILI (Sahla Arabic Flip Book) educational media for Arabic reading skills. The average score of the overall book feasibility standards is 89.37 in the range of 86-100, which falls into category 4 (very feasible), thus it can be concluded that the SABILI (Sahla Arabic Flip  Book) educational media is very feasible to be used as a learning medium to support Arabic reading skills.

Abstract

Arabic language learning, especially Imla skills, is an important focus in countries with large Muslim populations. Imla refers to the ability to write correctly according to the rules of Arabic orthography and grammar. This research aims to identify and analyze IMLA writing errors that are often made by class VIII students at PP. Raudhatus Salaam in the 2024-2025 academic year. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving observation, interviews and analysis of student written documentation. The research results showed that students experienced various types of errors in writing Imla, including errors in writing harakat (15%), letters with similar sounds (21%), long and short sounds (24%), and errors in connecting or separating words (21%). This error is caused by several factors, such as a lack of understanding of vocabulary, unclear pronunciation, and less effective learning methods. In-depth analysis revealed that lack of regular writing practice was the main cause of errors, with 48% of the total causal factors identified. This research also found that improvement efforts such as regular Imla writing practice and increased pronunciation practice can help improve students' writing skills. By providing practical recommendations for educators, it is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of more effective learning strategies to improve Arabic writing skills among students. These findings emphasize the importance of a deep understanding of Arabic writing rules in order to reduce errors in IMLA and improve the overall quality of Arabic language learning.

Abstract

Learning Arabic now tends to utilize various media as tools to enhance the effectiveness of the learning process. One of the media that is currently popular among young people is KPOP songs. The use of audiovisual media based on songs as a medium for learning Arabic has become the focus of research to enhance the effectiveness of learning. With the presence of audiovisual media based on songs, it can refer to the interests and development of the fourth-grade students at MI Negeri 5 North Jakarta who have not yet achieved the learning objectives in speaking skills. Therefore, a fun and appropriate method is needed so that students do not get bored and tired in class. The objective of this research is to determine the effectiveness of implementing audiovisual media based on the song "Candy" by NCT Dream on the pronunciation of Arabic vocabulary among fourth-grade students at MI Negeri 5 North Jakarta. The type and design of this research are experimental with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent group design. The data collection techniques in this study use both test and non-test techniques. For the test technique, the instrument used is an oral test, while for the non-test technique, the instruments used are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. As for The data analysis technique used is the hypothesis test (t-test). The results of this study indicate that the audiovisual media based on the song "Candy" by NCT Dream is effective in improving the Arabic speaking skills of fourth-grade students at MI Negeri 5 North Jakarta. This is evidenced by the average posttest score of the control class, which is 77.03, and the average posttest score of the experimental class, which is 75.21. Then, the data analysis at the normality test level for both the control class and the experimental class in the pre-test and post-test showed a normal distribution. Furthermore, the t-test calculation using SPSS version 22 yielded a significance value of 0.001 for both the pre-test and post-test, which means that the significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. Therefore, this indicates that there is an influence from the audiovisual media based on the song "Candy" by NCT Dream on the post-test results of the experimental class. Thus, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Meanwhile, based on the results of the closed questionnaire filled out by the students, it also proves that the students can follow the lessons well and easily understand Arabic language learning in speaking skills using audiovisual media based on the song "Candy" by NCT Dream.

Abstract

In order to assist students in comprehending and analyzing literary works more thoroughly, learning Arabic literature calls for a creative method. Through transmediation, this study seeks to create a multimodal project-based learning model that uses a variety of media to improve students' understanding and creativity. This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, following the Hannafin and Peck model, which consists of three phases: need assessment, design, and development & implementation. However, this study focuses only on the need assessment and design phases. Data were collected through observations and questionnaires distributed to students and lecturers in the Arabic Literature course of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The needs assessment results indicate that students face difficulties in deeply understanding Arabic literary texts and are less actively engaged in the learning process. To improve their understanding of Arabic literature, a more project-based and interactive approach is required. Based on these results, the design phase produced a multimodal project-based learning model integrating transmediation, enabling students to express their understanding through visual, audio, and digital storytelling. In order to determine how the created model affects students' critical thinking, creativity, and understanding of Arabic literature, this study suggests that it be further implemented and evaluated. The usefulness and efficacy of this learning model should be investigated further during the development and implementation phases.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in a nation's development and civilization. However, regions categorized as underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) in Indonesia face significant challenges in providing quality education, including Arabic language learning. Arabic, as the language of the Qur'an and a key reference in Islamic teachings, is essential for students seeking a deeper understanding of religious texts. Nevertheless, Arabic learning in 3T areas is hindered by linguistic and non-linguistic factors, such as difficulties in grammar and pronunciation, low student motivation, inadequate learning facilities, and ineffective teaching methods. This study employs a literature review method, analyzing various academic sources to explore the challenges and potential solutions for Arabic language learning in 3T regions. The research highlights that the use of innovative educational media significantly enhances students' motivation and comprehension. However, implementing digitalbased learning tools remains a challenge due to limited internet access, lack of technological infrastructure, and insufficient teacher training. To address these challenges, this study proposes several solutions, including improving infrastructure, integrating local cultural resources into the curriculum, and providing teacher training programs on innovative teaching methods. Game-based learning, such as Arabic Monopoly, flashcards, and interactive storytelling, has proven effective in increasing student engagement. Additionally, traditional games like spinning tops (gasing) and congklak, adapted to Arabic language learning, can serve as culturally relevant teaching tools. The findings emphasize the need for collaborative efforts among educators, policymakers, and institutions to support Arabic language education in 3T areas. By combining digital innovations with traditional learning strategies, a more inclusive and effective learning environment can be established. This research contributes to developing sustainable and context-appropriate Arabic language learning strategies, ensuring equitable education opportunities in remote regions.

Abstract

This study discusses the use of other language elements in the use of Arabic which are considered to deviate from the rules. The study was conducted because the phenomenon of phonological interference often occurs in grade VII students of MTs Al Asror Semarang due to the influence of the rules of the mother tongue. The purpose of this study was to identify the forms of phonological interference and their causes. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive design, collecting data through listening, note-taking, and recording techniques. Researchers directly observe learning activities to monitor the phonological interference process. The results of the study showed several forms of deviation in Arabic consonant and vowel sounds, such as غ becomes ه, ق becomes ك, خ becomes ح, ش becomes س, ط becomes ت, ث becomes س, ذ becomes د, ع becomes ء, and ض becomes د. The main cause of interference is the difference in sound characteristics between Indonesian and Arabic, while the secondary cause is the lack of practice in using Arabic everyday and the lack of students' knowledge about Arabic sounds. This study provides an overview of phonological interference that needs to be avoided in Arabic language learning.
