Abstract

Implementing an independent learning curriculum, which started in 2022, mitigates learning lag or loss due to the pandemic. Through the independent learning curriculum, it is hoped that teachers can have autonomy in designing and determining learning to improve performance. This study aims to see the effect of autonomy on performance. The research method uses a quantitative method. The population in this study consisted of high school teachers who implemented the independent learning curriculum in Bandung City using a sampling technique, namely proportional random sampling. Data analysis used descriptive and verification methods using simple regression tests. The study showed that the tcount value of autonomy was 6.154 with a significant value of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05, so autonomy can directly affect the performance of high school teachers. Unlike previous studies that broadly explored curriculum challenges or teacher roles, this study examines the direct relationship between autonomy and performance in the specific framework of Indonesia’s educational reforms. The findings aim to provide practical insights for policymakers and school leaders to optimize teacher autonomy, thereby supporting the successful implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between adolescents’ psychological well-being and problem behavior in children in conflict with the law (ABH) in theft cases in the Youth Correctional Center (YCC) Bandung. This research is preliminary to the development of a family function therapy design. The quantitative correlational approach is the research methodology employed in this study. Quota sampling was the sampling method employed. In incidents of theft, the study's sample quota was 36 (ABH). The Difficulty and Strength Questionnaire (KKA) measuring instrument was used to determine the level of difficulty and strength they experienced. Adolescent psychological well-being was measured using the Brief Scale of Psychological Well-Being for Adolescents (BSPWB-A)—Indonesian Version. The method of analysis used for the product-moment Pearson correlation test is the source of the data. The result of this study shows a significant negative correlation between adolescents’ psychological well-being and problem behavior in children in conflict with the law (ABH) in theft cases in YCC Bandung (r = -0.200; p < 0.05). The hypothesis proposed is accepted. The implications of this study are the basis for the development of family functional therapy, which considers adolescents’ psychological well-being as part of family functional therapy to reduce their problematic behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the emotional regulation of Bandung City's Special School Category C teachers. The development of pupils with intellectual disabilities, who need patience, skills, and strong emotional regulation to navigate a variety of obstacles, is greatly aided by special needs teachers. Featuring 203 responders, this study used a quantitative method. The Emotion Regulation Questionnaire in Indonesian was used to gather data. According to the research results, 81.8% of participants had high emotional regulation, enabling them to modify their attitudes and actions in response to stressful circumstances. However, 18.2% of respondents showed low emotional regulation, which affects their ability to manage emotional stress. These findings underline the importance of developing supporting strategies to improve the psychological well-being of special needs teachers, which will ultimately improve the quality of education for students with special needs.

Abstract

The phenomenon of beauty privilege where those who have beautiful faces tend to get special privileges compared to people who have ordinary faces or are even considered ugly. Beauty privilege usually provides convenience in various areas of life, such as friendship, work, and people's trust. The development of beauty privilege in society causes inequality, and so many people are affected by this phenomenon. People look more at the physical, especially an attractive physical form. Those with a beautiful physique are considered more positive, but less attractive people will be labelled worse. This study aims to determine the perception of beauty privilege in emerging adulthood. The respondents in this study amounted to 261 respondents. Data collection using a beauty privilege perception questionnaire consisting of 14 items with a validity value of 0.345-0.704 and a reliability value of 0.859. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling type. The results of this study showed that 51.87% of respondents had a negative perception of beauty privilege, meaning that individuals think that beauty privilege is not the main thing for achieving something; individuals believe more in their abilities and inner beauty. However, the other 48.3% had a positive perception of beauty privilege, meaning that they admit that it exists around them.

Abstract

Indonesia has the most significant number of Muslim citizens worldwide. However, the data is based on the individual’s identity, which isn’t adequate to show their religiosity. This research aimed to describe the religiosity score among Muslims in Indonesia, and we use The Centrality of Religiosity Scale (CRS) by Huber & Huber (2012), which has been translated into Indonesian by the researcher through an adaptation process. We find that 100 respondents have high religiosity scores, 44 have average, and 90 have low religiosity scores. There are differences in sum between respondents with high and low religiosity scores. This can explain several attitudes and behaviors among our respondents, such as views on marriage, premarital sexual behavior, political views, and in-group and out-group attitudes. Religious respondents will be more likely to (1) have specific requirements when choosing their spouse, (2) have a lower attitude and are less likely to engage in premarital sexual behavior, (3) prefer Muslim candidates, and (4) have a strong in-group attitude.

Abstract

Age maturity begins when individuals prepare for the wedding and become parents. Unfortunately , the existing fatherless phenomenon influences the individual, especially in the belief that they are to parenting. So many choose for no own child or tend to consider becoming a parent as things that make it difficult. Research This aims to know the parenting sense of competence (PSOC) picture in early adulthood that has not been married. Research about PSOC has been done, especially in individuals already married, but research on individuals unmarried in early adulthood is still tiny. Research is done using a descriptive analysis method. Data was collected through a PSOC questionnaire with 17 statement items. The respondents are individuals unmarried in early adulthood, aged 21-24 years old, who have not married. Research results show an average value of 62.0. with the average value known, as many as 92 out of 162 respondents have a PSOC that is classified as low. It means most respondents still do not believe they can care for later. For that matter, this needs to be improved so as not to impact a parent's early adulthood life moments negatively.

Abstract

The extent of social media use among adolescent students has the potential to positively and negatively affect their psychosocial development. In the context of education, social media has the potential to serve as an effective tool in the guidance and counselling process, particularly in the context of guidance and counselling services in schools. The research methodology used is descriptive research with a literature review. The literature review will provide secondary data studies which will then be used to determine the extent of adolescents' use of social media and the effectiveness of guidance and counselling interventions. The existing literature reveals a variety of effects associated with social media, both positive and negative. The efforts above have been implemented in reality group counselling, educational cinema group counselling, counselling with self-management techniques, provision of information services, home visits and classical counselling. In addition, counsellors use social media to provide guidance and counselling services, thereby facilitating the provision of assistance to counselees at present through the use of technology. The use of social media by counsellors includes implementing online counselling (e-counselling), electronic-based modules and counselling services through WhatsApp.

Abstract

Higher education requires students to have strong self-regulated learning (SRL) abilities, which encompass metacognition, motivation, and learning behavior. This study aimed to describe the SRL levels of university students in Bandung City across these three core aspects. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 235 active students from various universities through the SRL scale developed from Zimmerman’s (2000) model and adapted by Gabriela Devi Aninditya (2019). The findings revealed that the majority of students were in the moderate category on all three aspects, with motivation emerging as the lowest component (only 12.3% in the high category). These results indicate that while students generally have sufficient skills in planning and monitoring their learning, internal drive and motivational regulation remain key challenges. This highlights the need for interventions that strengthen motivation to support students’ independent learning and long-term academic success. By presenting a comprehensive profile of SRL across its main dimensions, this study provides empirical insights that can inform the development of educational programs and strategies in higher education.
