Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing educational games on students' learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) subjects for fifth-grade students at SDN 07 Paleleh, Buol Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group model. The subjects consisted of two classes: an experimental class that received treatment through educational games and a control class that used conventional teaching methods. Data collection was conducted through learning outcome tests administered in the form of pretests and posttests. The data were analyzed using prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity tests), paired sample t-tests, and effectiveness analysis using the normalized gain (N-Gain) method. The results revealed a significant improvement in learning outcomes in the experimental class. The average posttest score in the experimental class was 81.33, higher than the control class average of 62.00. The paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of the educational game method on learning outcomes. Furthermore, the N-Gain score of the experimental class was 57.75%, categorized as “moderately effective,” while the control class scored only 20.28%, categorized as “ineffective.” These findings suggest that the educational game method is an effective instructional strategy for improving student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Based on the results of the daily assessment in the subject of Akidah Akhlak for Grade XI students at MA Darul Amanah Bedono in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, only 2 out of 7 students (28.57%) achieved scores above the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), while 5 students (71.43%) still received low scores. This outcome indicates that the learning process has not been effective and has not met the expected minimum competency targets. Furthermore, the low learning outcomes are also reflected in student behavior at school, which still shows a lack of application of commendable morals, such as insufficient respect for teachers, low concern for peers, and lack of participation in religious activities. This suggests that students' understanding of Akidah Akhlak is not only weak cognitively but is also not reflected in their daily attitudes and behavior.This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Akidah Akhlak with the material "Avoiding Reprehensible Behavior" through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method in class XI MA Darul Amanah Bedono in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles with 7 students as subjects. In the pre-cycle, only 2 students (28.57%) completed with an average score of 60.86. After the implementation of PBL, the results increased in cycle I with 4 students (57.1%) completing and an average score of 75.29, and reaching 100% completion in cycle II with an average score of 81.29. In addition to increasing grades, PBL also has a positive impact on student attitudes, such as critical thinking, cooperation, and responsibility, through contextual learning related to tadbzir and bungling behavior. This approach has proven effective in shaping Islamic character and increasing active student involvement

Abstract

Multiculturalism can be seen as an acknowledgement of cultural pluralism. Cultural pluralism is not something that is “given” but is a process of internalizing values ​​within a community. This study provides an overview of the conceptual understanding and behavior of multicultural values ​​at the Islamic College of Brebes, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) study program. Therefore, it is important to develop multicultural education, an educational process that provides equal opportunities for all students who come from different school backgrounds. Lecturers of Multicultural Education courses must design the learning process, prepare the curriculum and evaluation design, and lecturers who have multicultural perceptions, attitudes and behaviors, so that they become a part that provides a positive contribution to the development of multicultural attitudes and behaviors of their students. This study aims to determine the ability of understanding and multicultural behavior of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students of STAI Brebes towards the multicultural values ​​they get in lectures. This study is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. The primary data in this study are class A Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students of the Islamic College of Brebes. While secondary data involves designated fellow students, designated lecturers and designated academics. The results of the study show that students' understanding and behavior regarding multiculturalism values ​​are good or even very good. The values ​​understood and behavior applied by the students include tolerance values, equality values, freedom values, and discipline values

Abstract

Islamic Cultural History (SKI) learning at the junior Islamic school (Madrasah Tsanawiyah) level often faces challenges such as low student interest and participation due to passive and conventional teaching methods. This study aims to address these issues by applying the Market Place learning method combined with Canva as a visual aid to improve student learning outcomes and engagement. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were ninth-grade students at MTs Darul Amanah Bedono during the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning mastery, increasing from 31% in the pre-cycle to 54% in Cycle I and reaching 100% in Cycle II. Moreover, students demonstrated growth in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, including active participation in discussions, the ability to present ideas using visual media, and increased enthusiasm during learning activities. Canva proved to be an effective tool for presenting content in a creative and engaging manner, supporting more contextual and meaningful learning experiences. In conclusion, the Market Place method assisted by Canva not only effectively enhances learning outcomes but also fosters an interactive, collaborative, and enjoyable learning environment. This strategy is recommended for broader implementation in SKI and other subjects, particularly those that are abstract or historical in nature, to promote active engagement and deeper student understanding.

Abstract

The development of social media is like a double-edged knife, it can hurt or provide benefits for its users. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the impact of social media use on the development of the dimensions of adolescent religiosity from the perspective of the psychology of religion. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. The data source is secondary data. Data collection techniques include collecting, editing, categorizing, and summarizing data. While data analysis by analyzing the content in depth. The results revealed that the use of social media can have a positive and negative impact on five aspects of the development of the dimensions of religiousness in adolescents. For example, in the worship dimension, adolescents can utilize social media to disseminate useful information and learn about how to worship properly according to Sharia. However, if they are not wise, teenagers will actually get carried away and forget about time and then leave their worship such as prayer, because they are engrossed in surfing social media. The conclusion of this study states that the development of social media must be accompanied by a wise attitude of its users, especially teenagers who psychologically tend to be easily influenced and follow trends that are sometimes not following the values of Islamic teachings. The implications of the research hopefully can be useful for researchers and readers, especially parents and teachers who must be extra in guiding and fostering the teenagers they have, so that they are always in a good moral corridor.

Abstract

This article is presented from the results of research that reveals the achievements of the independent curriculum-based assessment system in improving the quality of learning processes and outcomes at the Muhammadiyah Kajen Pekalongan Vocational High School (SMK). This research uses qualitative research methods with field research, as well as data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this research show that; 1) The independent curriculum-based assessment or assessment system consists of formative assessments, summative assessments, and diagnostic assessments. 2) Kajen Pekalongan Muhammadiyah Vocational School has several forms of assessments based on the independent curriculum. First, the Skills Competency Test (UKK) assessment which measures students' skills at the learning stage. Second, the Field Work Practices (PKL) assessment improves students' professional work culture in the world of work. Third, the ISMUBA (Islam, Muhammadiyah, and Arabic) assessment integrates religion into students' daily lives. All assessment implementations are supported by a conducive learning environment, adequate facilities, and high integrity of educators so that the learning assessment process can run effectively and can improve the quality of students in accordance with the needs of the world of work and society.

Abstract

By using the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model through Classroom Action Research (CAR), this study aims to improve the concentration and learning participation of 8th grade students at MTs Nurul Ikhlas in the subject of fiqh. This study was conducted in two stages using qualitative and quantitative methods. Observation, interviews, questionnaires, document recording, and learning outcome tests are various methods used to collect data. It has been proven that the implementation of the NHT model can improve students' active participation and their learning performance. In cycle I, the score obtained by the teacher reached 18 (64.2), with an average class score of 75 and a percentage of learning success reaching 50%. In cycle II, the class test score increased to 77.5 and the percentage of learning completion reached 75%. Therefore, this model can be used as an option for fiqh learning in junior high schools/MTs.

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Al-Qur’an Hadith among eleventh-grade students at MA Darul Amanah Bedono through the implementation of the PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) learning method in collaboration with peer tutoring. The initial condition showed that only 2 out of 7 students (28.57%) achieved the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM), while most students remained passive in conventional lecture-based and memorization-oriented learning activities. After applying the PQ4R method in Cycle I, the number of students who achieved mastery increased to 4 students (57.14%), with the class average score improving to 73.28. In Cycle II, the use of Chromebook-based digital learning media further enhanced the effectiveness of the learning process, resulting in 6 out of 7 students (85.71%) achieving the mastery level. The teacher and student observation scores also increased to 3.8 and 3.6, respectively. The findings indicate that the integration of the PQ4R method with peer tutoring effectively improved students’ comprehension, participation, and learning motivation. Moreover, this collaborative approach provided practical benefits for teachers by fostering a more interactive, engaging, and meaningful learning environment in the Al-Qur’an Hadith classroom.

Abstract

The development of the times demands that the younger generation be able to adapt to the continuously evolving issues of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). This study aims to examine the implementation of local fiqh learning at MA Tanbihul Ghofilin, Bawang, Banjarnegara, covering the understanding of concepts, learning sources, curriculum, learning processes (preparation, implementation, and evaluation), as well as its benefits for students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data was tested using triangulation techniques. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that: 1) Local fiqh learning uses the Fathul Qorib textbook with the traditional bandongan method of pesantren, emphasizing the practical application of Islamic law in daily life; 2) The learning stages consist of systematic preparation, implementation, and evaluation; and 3) Local fiqh learning plays an essential role in enhancing students’ religious understanding, shaping their moral and spiritual character, and preparing them to become future generations capable of addressing fiqh-related issues in society. The implication of this study is that local fiqh serves as a relevant and contextual learning model for modern Islamic schools (madrasahs).
