The aim of the Conference on Design Manufacture Engineering and Its Application (CDMA) is to provide a scientific platform for researchers, academics, and professionals to share and disseminate original research, innovative ideas, and practical developments in the fields of design engineering, manufacturing technology, and their multidisciplinary applications. CDMA welcomes the submission of theoretical and empirical papers that aim to advance knowledge, challenge conventional practices, and offer new insights into areas such as product design, manufacturing systems, industrial automation, materials engineering, and related domains. Submissions may employ various methodological approaches, including experimental research, modeling and simulation, qualitative studies, and data-driven analysis.

Abstract

According to the minister of industry, despite being under pressure due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a number of industrial sub-sectors grew very high in 2021. With this increase, the company finally carried out an evaluation. PT.AAM is still not optimal in meeting the supply of raw materials for fire door production. The main cause that often occurs is the large number of purchases of raw, causing hoarding which can affect the total cost of raw material inventory. Researchers will analyze these problems using the Economic Order Quantity method. The results using EOQ can result in inventory costs being decreased by an average of Rp.1.296.922. with less ordering frequency and optimum cycle. The reorder has been determined by the number of calculations from the reorder point.

Abstract

The shipbuilding industry is a fabrication industry in the ship sector that involves the use of materials and manufacturing processes.. When a shipbuilding project is finished later than expected, the shipyard is required under the contract agreement to pay a penalty. PT Batam Expresindo Shipyard must pay a penalty equal to 1 mill of the contract value every day because the implementation is delayed, as was the case with the 17M Aluminum Fisheries Supervisory Shipbuilding project.One solution that can be done is by crashing the project on the work that is on the critical path. This research uses Critical Path Method (CPM) and Time Cost Trade Off method. The results of the analysis found that the optimal time and cost with an alternative addition of labor and additional working hours of 5 hours from normal working hours with a productivity of 80%. The resulting crashing project duration is 30 days faster than the actual duration, from a total project duration of 222 days to 192 days with an additional crashing project cost of Rp. 76. 719,846.

Abstract

The material of the workpiece is one of the non-electrical parameters that affect the performance of EDM Sinking. SKS-3 steel is a steel with a high carbon class and in its application this material is commonly used for products for making bending die, sizing and stamping tools for medium run, and cutting blades. In this study using the response surface method with 15 run orders and 3 replications by applying Box-Behnken Design for research experiment design and ANOVA to analyze data. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the optimal combination of parameters was Pulse current 7.29293 A, Pulse on time 5.34343 (?s), and Pulse off time 3 (?s). To produce optimal dies products, the factors studied are the influence of process variables such as pulse current, on time, and off time on the material removal rate and surface roughness in the machining process using EDM Sinking and to determine the right combination variable settings of process parameters such as pulse current, on time, and off time in order to produce products with optimal material removal rate and surface roughness in the process EDM Sinking

Abstract

A metal foundry company is producing e-clip. Based on 2021 data, e-clip products have 13 types of defects. Miss run being one of these defects which are included in the category that cannot be repaired with a percentage of 15.16%. This study aims to determine the factors that cause defects in e-clip products. The method used is Six sigma DMAIC. The measuring stage obtained 4.1 sigmas from the DPMO calculation. In the analysis stage using FTA obtained 7 factors, namely the operator is inconsistent during the pouring process, the inoculation process is less precise, the tapping temperature check is not carried out regularly, transfer speed from tapping to moulding is too long, the content water in the molding is too much, the ladle rinsing temperature is not high, the molding line does not stop when the operator is doing the pouring process.

Abstract

PT. Aneka Adhilogam Karya is a company engaged in the metal casting sector which has superior products, Giboult Joint. In the production process, 9.84% defects were found. With the percentage of defects that have exceeded company standards, it can result in losses for the company both in terms of time, effort, and cost. This study aims to determine the percentage of the number of defects in the product as well as the factors that cause defects in the Giboult joint product and to plan the proposed improvement using the Statistical Quality Control method. Statistical Quality Control is the use of statistical methods to identify potential failures that arise by minimizing the risk of product defects, so that the resulting product can meet the quality standards of consumers by means of a statistical approach. Quality control tools used are check sheets, histograms, Pareto diagrams, control charts (P-Charts), and fishbone diagrams. The results obtained using this method are that there is an average product damage of 9.84%. and the average product damage is between the upper limit of 18% and the lower limit of 16.8% with the factors causing defects are human, material, method, and environmental factors. Proposed improvements that can be made by the company are by giving directions and warnings to workers, enriching more than 1 time, giving water according to the standard and providing air channels / holes in the mold, then by increasing air vents to facilitate air circulation.

Abstract

In this study, designing a slopeway construction that serves as a connecting bridge between No. 1A Deck with No. 1B Deck on KM. Dharma Rucitra VIII so that it can be used as access to unload and load motorbikes. The stages of the slopeway construction design process will follow the applicable standards of the Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI). Thestages of the slopeway construction design process begin by calculating the cross-sectional modulus of the planned slopeway construction. Comparing the results of the calculation of the cross-sectional modulus of slopeway construction with the requirements of the crosssectional modulus that have been determined by BKI. Furthermore, carrying out the loading simulation process will use the FEM (fenite element methods) approach using the ANSYS Workbench software. Comparing the simulation results of slopeway construction loading with the allowable stresses determined by BKI. The results of this study indicate that design 3 has better quality than designs 1 and 2. The size of the construction is 8 mm thick plate, main web beam T 250x100x10, side and center girder T 250x120x10, supporting web beam L75x75x6, long girder L75x75x6. The equivalent stress value is 122.16 MPa, the bending stress is 75,458 MPa, the shear stress is 70,452 MPa, the strain is 6.30E04, the deformationis 5,1674 mm and has a construction weight of 5099.8 kg with a total budget of Rp. 18,159,579.27.

Abstract

Lifting table is a tool to help welders who do welding in high places. Pressure vessel industry does not have drawings data of lifting table so that there are no guidelines for the manufacturing flow, according to questionnaires and interviews with welders, this lifting table does not have mobility and its operation still involves 2 (two) workers so it is less efficient. Drawings data of existing products and redesign product lifting table were made using the Ulrich Method by selecting 1 (one) best concept from several concepts that had been previously selected, then do strength analysis, ergonomics analysis and production cost analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, existing product lifting table has a 42,17 kN buckling value, work platform stress analysis is 16,71 MPa and a ladder stress analysis is 8,62 MPa. The redesign product of lifting table has a minimum buckling value of 67,56 kN, a stress value of 9,22 N/mm2 and a deflection value of 2.64 mm, a redesign lifting table has 4 score in ergonomics analysis and Rp. 9,604,000 to manufacture it.

Abstract

Electrical energy is an important source of energy for the people of Indonesia because electrical energy is always used in industrial activities and daily life. Indonesia's power generation capacity has increased by almost 15 Giga Watt (GW) to 69.6 Giga Watt (GW) from 54.7 to 69.6 Giga Watt (GW) in the Turbine last five years. This need will continue to grow because fossil raw materials will gradually be eroded. One of the efforts to utilize energy is the renewable energy of the Picohydro Power Plant which utilizes the flow of the river or sea currents as renewable energy. This research is to design a Gorlov Model Blade mold with fiberglass using the Hand Lay Up method. In the process using the Reverse Engineering method to compare the 3 Manufacturing Processes for making the Gorlov model turbine blade mold. In this study, the first process concept was chosen because the price is cheaper, the process is easy and fast, and has a lighter weight than the existing product. The results of the Gorlov Model Blade Turbine performance test on a river flow with an average speed of 1.59 m/s and a river depth of 300 mm resulted in Blade 732.28 Rpm and produced 3.2 Volts. From these data, it can be said that the turbine can work according to its function. Total Cost of Production (HPP) Rp. 5.570.350.

Abstract

Energy is the primary need of society in carrying out their daily needs. However, it is currently a global issue that must be faced because it has a negative impact on producing greenhouse gases. Based on Indonesia's energy outlook in 2021, the potential for renewable energy is very abundant, such as hydro energy of 20,960 MW and solar energy of 6,379 MW. Indonesia has natural potentials such as irrigation flow and solar as a renewable energy source. This research contains the design and construction of a hybrid energy power plant by combining the potential of solar energy and irrigation flow. This research uses a screw turbine and monocrystalline solar panels. Development process used the Ulrich method, comparing 3 product concepts, the first concept was chosen because it was suit among others, easy to fabricate, good portability, and lower costs than existing products. The results of performance tests with a water flow speed of 1.28 m/s, the average power produced by the screw turbine is 29.10 watts, and from solar panels is 24.95 watts. This product is equipped with a remote monitoring system via website to unify the voltage, current and frequency. The total cost of production is Rp. 9,534,284.00,-.

Abstract

PT. Zenith Allmart Precisindo is one of the manufacturing companies engaged in foundry investment casting. Its superior product is pump casing V(S) 2/4/6 B which has a production target of 500pcs/month every month. The milling process for the V(S)2/4/6 B pump casing product has the disadvantage that it requires more CNC milling machines to process each part of the process. PT. Zenith Allmart Precisindo has a horizontal 4 axis double pallet CNC milling machine. This machine uses a fixture and clamp as a stopper to aid in bulk processing of casting products. In order to help the finishing process of the production of the V(S) 2/4/6 B pump casing quickly, tools such as jigs and fixtures were made, so as to speed up the process of working on V(S) 2/4/6 B products and reduce machine usage. CNC for every part of the process. Design of jig and fixture V(S) 2/4/6 B using Autodesk Fusion 360 software. The method used is the Ulrich method as a method of selecting a design concept by making 3 different concept designs. This V(S) 2/4/6 B jig and fixture produces 2 V(S) 2/4/6 B products in one milling process with 47 minutes to produce 2 products at once.
