Abstract

This research aims to analyze the tourist attraction of Ilohu'uwa Waterfall using descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection in research was carried out using observation, interviews and literature study methods. The research population used was waterfall tourism managers, the community and tourists. The number of samples in this study was 80 respondents. The results of the research show that the Ilohu'uwa Waterfall tourist attraction has good attractiveness by paying attention to the main components of tourism, namely natural tourist attractions, accessibility, and facilities and infrastructure. For natural tourist attractions which are tourist attractions, a score of 86.5% was obtained, categorized as high suitability and has a beautiful panorama. Furthermore, the results of the analysis on accessibility obtained a value of 64,3%, categorized as moderate feasibility with good accessibility but still needs to be improved and paid attention to by the government and government. Then the results of the analysis of facilities and infrastructure obtained were 48,5%, categorized as moderate feasibility and the supporting facilities and infrastructure were adequate but needed to be improved.

Abstract

Community-based ecotourism plays a crucial role in developing sustainable tourism. The Torosiaje area in Pohuwato Regency has significant ecotourism potential, with natural resources such as mangrove forests and unique biodiversity. However, previous studies have not thoroughly explored the integration between environmental conservation and local community empowerment. Here, we show that by adopting an ecotourism approach that directly involves the local community, this area can become a leading tourism destination. The study results indicate a high development potential in this area, with challenges such as accessibility and environmental management needing improvement. The implication is that sustainable management and active participation of the local community are essential to support environmental conservation and enhance the economic well-being of the Torosiaje community..

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to assist and monitor mini research on the implementation of PJOK learning carried out by 1st semester students at MI Alkhairaat Gorontalo City. The activity stages consist of: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the evaluation, this activity was carried out well, based on the stages of the activity until the objectives of this service activity were achieved. In addition, students gained benefits, including: increasing understanding of the objectives of implementing PJOK in schools, recognizing the scope of physical education which is the material at MI Alkhairaat, and being able to distinguish between physical education and sports coaching.

Abstract

Digital literacy has become an essential competency in the 21st century, particularly for senior high school students. Critical thinking is part of higher-order thinking skills that are crucial for filtering digital information. This study aims to review recent research findings on the relationship between digital literacy and students’ thinking abilities at the senior high school level. The method used is a systematic literature review of scientific articles published between 2019 and 2024. The findings indicate that digital literacy significantly contributes to shaping students’ thinking, especially in terms of information analysis, evaluation of online content, and problem-solving. Digital literacy also plays a role in fostering students’ reflective attitudes when dealing with disinformation. This study recommends strengthening digital literacy programs in schools to enhance students' overall thinking quality.

Abstract

Disaster education activities on flash floods were carried out in Pulu Village, Dolo District, Sigi Regency as an effort to increase community knowledge and preparedness against the threat of flash floods. The method used was a participatory approach involving the direct participation of the Pulu Village community, the Village Government, community leaders, and Disaster Response Youth. The stages of this community service activity included location observation, preparation, and implementation. The implementation stage was conducted through a socialization or outreach scheme in the form of a lecture. The purpose of the education was to introduce signs of flash flood hazards, risk knowledge, and emergency response planning. The educational activity received positive responses from the community, who actively engaged during the presentation, as well as appreciation from the village government. The presentation of materials accompanied by a simple simulation further enhanced the community’s understanding of self-rescue actions during a flash flood. The results of this activity indicate that interactive disaster mitigation education can effectively build community awareness and preparedness in facing flash flood threats.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of cooperative learning models on the learning outcomes of Jab and Straight punches among students in the Physical Education Department, Faculty of Sports and Health, Gorontalo State University. This study uses a quantitative method with an experimental design. The population in this study consists of 72 students, while the sample consists of 20 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was conducted through skill tests before and after the implementation of the cooperative learning model, which were then analysed using a t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant effect of the cooperative learning model on the improvement of basic jab and straight punch techniques. The average pre-test score was 7.35 with a standard deviation of 2.1, while the average post-test score increased to 12.2 with a standard deviation of 2.26. The analysis of variance yielded a t-value of 9.7, which is greater than the critical t-value of 2.86, thus rejecting the null hypothesis and accepting the alternative hypothesis. Thus, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model can influence the learning outcomes of jab and straight punches among students in the Physical Education Department of the Faculty of Sports and Health at Gorontalo State University, as evidenced by the significant improvement in learning outcomes for jab and straight punches. The main attractive factor of this learning model is the encouragement of social interaction among students, cooperation in small groups, and a deeper understanding, enabling students to master the techniques more optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of arm muscle power training on the speed of chudan tsuki punches among fourth-semester students in the Physical Education Department of the Faculty of Sports and Health at Gorontalo State University. The method used was an experiment with a one-group pre-test post-test design involving 20 students as samples. The research instrument was a punch speed test measured using a stopwatch. The results of the study showed a significant increase in punch speed after the arm muscle power training intervention, which consisted of 16 sessions of push-ups. The average punch speed score increased from 29.6 in the pre-test to 41.4 in the post-test. The t-test yielded a calculated t-value of 31.89, which is greater than the critical t-value of 2.86 at a significance level of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that arm muscle power training significantly affects the improvement in chudan tsuki punch speed.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce Shorinji Kempo martial arts to teenagers and young adults in Pulubala Village, Gorontalo Regency. Shorinji Kempo is a modern martial art originating from Japan that integrates physical, mental, and spiritual aspects into its training. This outreach programme is designed as an educational initiative to shape the character of the younger generation through a martial arts approach focused on values such as discipline, responsibility, and self-control. The methods used in this activity include lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations of basic techniques, and hands-on practice by participants. The implementation of the activity involved collaboration between the academic team, the village government, and local participants. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the values and basic techniques of Shorinji Kempo, as well as growing interest in participating in further training. The positive response from participants reflects the great potential for the development of martial arts communities at the village level, which not only function as training centres but also as means of character building and sports achievement. This activity also strengthens the role of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi in the field of community service. The short-term impact, in the form of increased awareness among participants of the importance of martial arts as a productive activity, has been evident through post-activity evaluations and reflections. Meanwhile, long-term impacts are expected to materialise in the form of dojo establishment and sustained development for the younger generation in the village. Thus, this socialisation activity not only serves as a means of disseminating martial arts knowledge but also becomes an integral part of building healthy, resilient, and character-driven human resources.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of profitability and leverage on company value in companies listed on the LQ45 index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2022-2024 period. The research sample consisted of 33 companies that met the criteria, with secondary data in the form of annual financial reports. The variables used include profitability measured through the Return on Assets (ROA) ratio, leverage through the debt to shareholder equity ratio, and company value using Price Book Value (PBV). The analytical method applied is panel data regression analysis. The research results show that partial profitability and leverage do not have a significant effect on company value. These findings support the theory that in large and stable companies such as those indexed in LQ45, traditional financial factors are no longer the primary determinant of company value. In contrast, external factors and innovation strategies can have a greater influence.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to describe the reasons why transmigrant farming communities persist in Wasile Subdistrict; (2) to reveal the mindset and knowledge regarding the adaptation strategies of transmigrant farmers in Wasile Subdistrict. This study employs a constructivist paradigm and a qualitative approach. Data collection methods include observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), and document studies. The conclusion is that the reason for survival is because Javanese transmigrant farmers possess an optimistic attitude towards the future of transmigration in Subaim Valley. The adaptation strategy used by Javanese transmigrant farmers in agriculture involves applying traditional farming by using the pranata mangsa (traditional Javanese seasonal calendar) as a reference in determining planting time
