Abstract

Kabila Bone sub-district has great tourism potential, but its development is still hampered by several factors, such as limited infrastructure, low human resource capacity, and challenges in preserving local culture. Although the tourism sector in this area can have a positive impact on the local economy, these constraints prevent the maximum utilisation of existing tourism potential. This study aims to analyse the supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of the tourism sector in Kabila Bone sub-district, as well as to evaluate its impact on the socioeconomic conditions of the local community. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling technique for selecting research subjects. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and field observations, while data analysis was conducted using an interactive model, which includes data collection, reduction, and presentation. The results show that the main supporting factors in tourism development are supportive government policies and active community participation, while the inhibiting factors are limited infrastructure and lack of human resource training. The impact of tourism on the socio-economy of the community in Kabila Bone Sub-district can increase income, create business opportunities, and help preserve local culture, but if not managed properly, this sector has the potential to damage the environment. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the development of the tourism sector has a positive impact on the socio-economic welfare of the community, but to maximise tourism potential, challenges related to infrastructure and human resource capacity need to be addressed.

Abstract

Cardiovascular endurance is an important component in the performance of martial arts athletes, especially in facing high and continuous physical intensity demands. One of the main indicators in assessing cardiovascular endurance capacity is VOâ‚‚Max, which is the maximum volume of oxygen that the body can consume per unit time during maximum physical activity. VOâ‚‚Max is crucial in martial arts that require endurance and speed over a long period of time. This study aims to examine the VOâ‚‚Max profile in Gorontalo martial arts athletes participating in the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON). The study was conducted through a descriptive quantitative approach using the Multistage Fitness Test (MFT) method to measure athletes' VOâ‚‚Max. Data were obtained from 9 Gorontalo martial arts athletes representing various sports, such as taekwondo, karate, wushu, muaythai, and kick boxing. The measurement results showed that the average VOâ‚‚Max of athletes was 41.31 ml/kg/minute with a standard deviation of 5.26, which was spread in the categories of "very good" to "poor." These findings indicate variations in aerobic capacity among athletes, which are related to the physical needs of each martial art. Based on these results, a specific training program is recommended that can increase VOâ‚‚Max, especially for athletes in the "sufficient" and "less" categories to achieve optimal endurance. These findings provide useful input for coaches to develop training programs that are more in line with the cardiovascular needs of athletes in preparation for the 2024 PON.

Abstract

Limboto watershed is one of the watersheds in Gorontalo Province that is categorised as critical priority. This condition is caused by land degradation in the catchment area (DTA) due to uncontrolled land conversion in the upstream part of the river. The purpose of this research is to determine the soil erodibility value based on soil texture in Limboto watershed. The erodibility value in this study was obtained by matching the soil texture of the Limboto watershed from the USDA soil texture image with the soil erodibility table from Hamza (2017). The results showed that soil erodibility values in the Limboto watershed varied according to soil texture, with sandy clay loam having the lowest erodibility value (0.0264), clay (0.288), and clay loam the highest (0.394). Most areas of the watershed, especially those with high erodibility, require conservation measures to reduce erosion risk. This approach is expected to provide practical solutions in sustainable land management.

Abstract

The largest village in Buntulia District is Hulawa Village with an area of 39,512.21 km2 or around 90.95 percent of the total area of the sub-district. Hulawa Village has a rich and diverse history. Historically, the development of Hulawa Village was also influenced by the political and social dynamics in Gorontalo. The purpose of the environmental service activities carried out by KKN MBKM is to explain the implementation of the KKN community service program in Hulawa Village. The service program in question includes two environmental care programs, namely the clean Friday program and community service. To achieve these goals in implementing their activities, students use three stages of implementation procedures consisting of the preparation stage, the implementation stage and the final stage, namely finishing. The results of the implementation of the service from the two environmental care programs in Hulawa Village ran smoothly and successfully with 100% achievement because community involvement was very large. Both programs that were implemented directly provided environmental cleanliness benefits.
